wasted
Totally rocks. The sort of album Slash should do. Like this massive epic jam session. Really torn n' frayed. On headphones it makes you want to riot. About what I'm not sure. The price of McDonalds, the lack of a new Prodigy album.
duff_mckagan21
Geez, so many Black Crowes' threads, I'm impressed Yeah the Band Sesssions does kick ass and has a good sound to it.duff21
wasted
They say the record label didn't to put them out but the looseness and epicness of the whole package just blows away so many safe albums. It has a really live feel which compliments Robinson's voice. It's like Exile on Main Street from Crowes.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nH0FOMHFunE

The reviewers reckon 'Three Snakes And One Charm' is the Crowes' version of 'Exile on Main Street'.duff21
Shuffle
The Band sessions were released as part of the Lost Crowes set weren't they?I'll have to check them out again it's been quite some time since I listened to the Lost Crowes, I don't remember much

Good question...weed?The Band sessions were released as part of the Lost Crowes set weren't they?I'll have to check them out again it's been quite some time since I listened to the Lost Crowes, I don't remember much Yeah I never remeber what happened or the titles of the songs cos they arent on the box. But while I'm listening its so great. It's so loose and soulful. There's just not many albums released that are so sloppy. Live albums are so tight nowadays. wasted
Yeah some of it is on By Yr Side. Some were for an album called Tall? I thought Tall was supposed to come after BYS, but the band broke up???? Might be wrong tho. Could have been before BYS. They had a slew of live albums and GHs as well. It's great they coming back. Their greatest hits came out in 1998/99 and yeah released 2 live albums, one with Jimmy Page.duff21 Edited January 17, 2008 by duff_mckagan21
Shuffle
The Tall sessions was recorded in 1993 or something like that, before the release of Amorica and a couple of the songs ended up there.Listened to the Band sessions (recorded 1996/1997) yesterday (or the day before, don't remember ) they really are great The live album with Jimmy Page is great, it's just to bad they couldn't release the recordings of their own songs because of record company troubles... wasted
I sort of lost track of BC for a while suppose during the Greatest hits time and live recordings. I downloaded Live at the Greek on napster. But couldn't see point in GH. So yeah Warpaint is a must.
duff_mckagan21
Right throughout 90-91 The Crowes played a song called You're Wrong. They usually played it second in their set.Who wrote the original of that, does anybody know?duff21

duff_mckagan21
Shake Your Money Maker should get more attention.Damn right it should. Shake Your Money Maker and Southern Harmony are two of the most underated albums of the early 90's.duff21
wasted
To me Southern Harmony rendered grunge obsolete, it has everything, it's classic rock but completely without the cheese, I mean the solos are unbelievable. But if AFD is gonna get mentioned then Shake Yr Money should be as well because that is as pure and as much of a saviour of rock as Guns were, if not more so...I can see myself getting a lot of Black Crowes cds when I get Warpaint - Lions, Amorica, Three Snakes as well. There might be a DVD of Southern Harmony stuff somewhere. Edited January 24, 2008 by wasted

But Ford was a tremendous replacement.Yeah my favourite album would have to be By Your Side. I adore Virtue and Vice. I have a soft spot for Three Snakes and One Charm too.duff21 Edited January 24, 2008 by duff_mckagan21

wasted
I saw that Marc Ford solo cd on Amazon. I used have this Crowes acoustic session they did for radio around time of Southern Harmoney, they did everything like Talks To angels, Jealous, and this Ry Cooder track (Boomers Story) which was about 10 minutes definitley worth tracking down.
