Are RATM the ultimate band?

• great screaming (and not too much...just perfect for the music)
  
• cool/good lyrics (maybe too political if you aren't into that)
  
• awesome riffs
  
• great fast solos
  
• slow melodic solos
  
• crazy-as-shit solos
  
• great bass
  
• great suiting drumming
  
• good production (not really lacking I mean)
  
• aggressive
  
• they are at least (for me) the ultimate rocking-out music
  

I mean ok, you may not like their music...but you can't deny how awesome their sonic-assult is!

They have great albums under their belt, and still manage to be an interesting band (with other bands when nothing is happening, and excitement when something is). Their only drawback I guess is how overly-political they are, which might be a turn-off for some.

They aren't exactly lacking in anything.

So who the fuck loves Rage Against The Machine?!

I love them but I have to say I wish Morello's solo's were more conventional. Most of the time it's him doing something weird with the guitar while he has two or more effects pedals on. For once I'd like to hear some penatonic runs instead.

Yeah, whereas his solos are often just distracting wanking...his RIFFS in RATM are heavy and amazing. Rage RULES...

This was more of a list of how Rage have pretty much everything you could want in a band...or at least a lot of it, rather than them being the best band ever; if you know what I mean.

I love RATM so much but I find it a bit hard to take their messages seriously considering the label they were signed to.

Not one of the best ever, but a great band nonetheless.

I'm probably gonna be killed for this, but I'm going to say it, and I'm going to pit up some pretty valid points....

I liked audioslave better(but i do love rage)

-Rage instrumentation with more musical diversity

-Lyrical Diversity

-Not a huge rap fan

-Morello shows his most rapidfire fretwork in a long time(sound of a gun, spoonman live in cuba, out of exile)

-Revelations had a nice strong funk grove smashed in with some of morello's best riffs and chris screaming the best he has in a while

-out of exile had chris's strong singer songwriter feel with rage's instrumentation opening up and showing their strengths in full force.

-Rage songs and soundgarden songs live!

-Arguably, morello's best solos ever were recorded with audioslave(getaway car, one and the same, dandelion)

-Rage's musical caliber was never lost at all
