How will you arrange the songs on your iPods?

I like to start off slow, get it up, then go epic.

Madagascar

If The World

Street of Dreams

Chinese Democracy

Shackler's Revenge

Scraped

Rhiad and the Bedouins

Better

IRS

There Was A Time

This I Love

Prostitute

Catcher in the Rye

Sorry

What I did with Illusions was put all the fast songs on a tape. It was like an AFD type of album.

Right Next Door To Hell

Garden of Eden

Perfect Crime

Live and Let Die

Double Taking Jive

You Could Be Mine

Shotgun Blues

Don't Dam Me

Dead Horse

Bad Apples

Back Off Bitch

Bad Obsession

Locomotive

:o I've done that. I made the perfect UYI album. It was 12 tracks long, roughly the same length, and I tried to put the tracks in an order that had a very similar flow/fell as AFD. It was pretty good. Had to trim all the fat like Estrange and NR, and Locomotive. :/ And I didn't use any cover songs.

Is re-arranging album track orders on iPods normal?

I've never even considered doing it.

I don't even have an iPod so I wouldn't know.

I've sort of made a playlist that goes

This I Love

Prostitute

IRS

Riad

Chinese Democracy

Madagascar

If The World

TWAT

Street of Dreams

Catcher in the Rye

Sorry

Better

Scraped

Shackler's Revenge

This this is how I see the album working thematically chronologically. From the disaster through the loneliness to getting better and rocking out again.

You could say Estranged and November Rain were the start of Axl's solo career, if you were so inclined. I think it's all GNR so I would say there is a AFD inside of UYI. CD is mix of AFD/UYI with 90s influence.

CD as AFD?

G-side

Chinese Democracy is Escape from Oppressive Regime

Shackler's is It's So Easy

IRS is Nightrain

Scraped - Out ta get me

Better - Recovery from Mr Brownstone

TWAT - industrial grunge ballad Paradise City

R-side

Madagascar - hold on and believe

Riad - industrial Chuck Berry

Street of Dreams - Sweet Child O mine

Sorry - No, you're crazy.

If The World ends, anything goes

Prostitute - Rocket Queen 2

I have an It's So Easy vs. Shackler's playlist on repeat - Welcome to the 21st century. Easy has it, no Shackler's, Easy, Shackler's, Easy, oooooh Easy Shackler is a new song, the keeper had no chance. It's like GNR porn.

As a cd the songs have been put together so they flow sonically, great opener, fast second song, single, great song - it's the routine.

Not sure themtically or chronologically - they might be the same.

Putting all the rockers together has a certain impact.

It does work well as an album as it is.

By the time Sorry comes on I'm pretty convinced it's the best album of all time. Then Madagascar, This I Love, Prostitute just confirm it.

But if you listen to the tracks in the order they were written, that also works really well, ending with Sorry, Scraped, Shackler's. The Super S's.
