KBear
Well I picked up Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 from work and I want to install it. I figure I should uninstall the copy of Microsoft Works that was pre-installed when I bought my PC.I'm just a little concerned because I know that sometimes installing or uninstalling a big program can cause problems - I guess some programs are just very deeply integrated into a system. Any tips on doing this uninstall and new install of Office Enterprise? Should it actually be a lot easier than I'm thinking or am I right in thinking this is a big job? Thanks in advance. highvoltage
MS Works is fine to Uninstall. Just use Add/Remove Programs like you do for anything else.
maXx
After you run the ADD/Remove function, you might want to run a search on 'MS Works' keyword, in case there are any other deep seated files that you need to manually remove.Make sure you empty the trash.. and restart before installing your new software. SunnyDRE
You don't need to uninstall it.
KBear
Hey, thanks for the replies. I read up on this a bit and it doesn't seem to be that big a deal, except for maybe one of the older versions which it seems some people had some trouble with.Sunny, I did find out that Works and Office are two entirely separate programs (even though they both contain Word), and that having both installed shouldn't cause any problems, but I'll have no use for Works once I have Office so I'd rather not clog up my hard drive (not to mention Start menu) with what is an inferior program.
