deadpool89 Posted October 9, 2011 Share Posted October 9, 2011 The rapsy voice is very taxing vocally----when you figure how all over the stage Axl generally is, coupled with the demanding nature of his vocals in general----it wouldn't surprise me if it's just too damn tough to rasp it out and get thru every song.....just my thoughts.I'd rather see him stand in one spot and sing the songs better, rather than run around and sing them poorly.Lucky for you, you cant see the show so be happy and try to enjoy what you hear! I don't think it has anything to do with "rust". Something is wrong.Dude no offense, but in your other post you were saying the guitar parts weren't good and Axl's voice needs to be "stronger." Now you're saying something is "wrong" because he hasn't invoked the rasp. Me, personally, I LIKE when bands and singers change little things when performing a song live. It keeps it fresh. Axl is modifying his delivery here and there. I have no qualms with that. What that means is when he does break out the rasp, it carries more weight. If he rasps all the time, then we become desensitized to it. I like variations on a theme. Not everything has to be a rote rendition that sounds the same as every other live version. Mixing it up a bit is good, yes?I never said he should have a rasp in every note. I said he should have a rasp when it is required. He's singing like Mickey Mouse.
