Randy Lahey
Both are pretty cool but I recommend starting with the documentary first. You may remember his artwork from Some Kind of Monster. Lars put up one of Basquiat's paintings for auction and it sold for millions of dollars.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LgUOnWjmaMhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFzKWUJlg7o Edited May 25, 2013 by Randy Lahey
Redhead74
Great artist who achieved an immense amount in 27 years. He lived during a great time for producing art, so much originality and creativity was everywhere yet he established his own style which is instantly recognisable. Andy Warhol and Robert Rauschenberg were friends and an inspiration for him, as well as David Bowie. All artistic behemoths. Can't help but think of that quote that Axl made in reference to finding 27 one of the hardest years for him personally, as did apparently Prince and Kurt Cobain. This was unfortunately true for Basquiat as well. Will have to check out this doco. Thanks for posting.
