The Linguini Occurrence
I haven't been able to find the same shirt anywhere, so I'm not sure if I'm an idiot for wearing this thing fairly often.Thoughts?
Nobody
I'm pretty positive it's a bootleg, so not sure how much it's worth. That being said, I haven't seen it very often at all myself.I have the same one but it has a different back picture. Pretty cool looking shirt either way.Edit: I just looked at mine. MIne has the Appetite photo of the guys sitting against the wall and says Appetite For Destruction on the bottom with the 2 guns symbol. I think I like the back of yours better, nice that it has some extra live photos. Definitely a bootleg though, not sure how old it actually is or how much they're worth. Izzy_Stradlin_XX
I'm pretty sure it's bootleg shirt. I think the oldest GN'R shirt, besides those that Slash painted with spray paint before they got signed, is the one with the skull and the gun through it, and in the back it has the Canadian tour dates from when GN'R opened the shows for The Cult in 1987. I've seen those go for about 350-400 dollars. If you can prove that this shirt is as old as you say it is, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't matter if it was a bootleg shirt, as it would still be an awesome vintage GN'R shirt.I'd say it would go for 200 bucks tops. jman2000
It's a boot, worth about $40 at very most.

The Linguini Occurrence
Thanks guys, at least now I can wear it without worrying. My older brother bought it from a record store around 20 years ago, so it is definitely vintage. Good quality too, heavy material with no fading or peeling. I always thought it was strange though that Steven was not included on the back.

Do you have pics or a more detailed description please? Haven't heard of this in all my time collecting, would be cool to know about a new item. Here's an old shirt:http://www.troccolitm.com/Shirt1st.htmlFrom the Roxy, Jan 1986. Another one:http://www.troccolitm.com/ShirtRareAsFuck.htmlFrom the Jun 87 UK tour.http://www.troccolitm.com/2ndShirt.htmlFrom the fall Europe/UK 87 tour. Almost Famous
That is NOT the skull and gun...lmfao. That's the rape scene (which hasn't sold for $350-$400 in years). This would be a skull & gun; http://www.gnrontour.com/tourshirts/88japan.jpgAs for the original shirt in question as already pointed out it's a random bootlegged shirt, maybe $30. troccoli
And even that skull and gun shirt is from Dec 88. Don't think I've ever seen any shirts from before the "rape shirts" other than the ones I pointed out. But if anyone knows of any...Almost - cool sig man! Almost Famous
You're correct Tim. I just posted that as an example, there is the more "normal" (common) version without the Japan Tour script (Axl wore at Donington '88). And thanks! HighVoltage made it eons ago for me. I've always wanted to make that image into a business card too.XX - Yeah that one in particular has been listed at $250 for awhile, but they haven't sold for over $125ish in a couple of years. Usually they sell for around $75 - $90 as of late.

Birk
I have a shitload of old GNR shirts, no bootlegs...i guess i should dig them out and see which ones i have. Im thinking of having a tshirt quilt made with all my tshirts, it costs like $300, but its badass..i would recommend having it done if you have a shitload of old school shirts
