Finished Broken Flowers, and the Hattori/Novigrad swordsmith quest line, neither gave me XP for finishing. :max:

EDIT: Wow really..... for the Hattori quest line, he makes you a sword at the very end [of a long quest line] as a reward.... it's a level 24 quest, I'm level 16 and playing on Hard Mode, the fucking sword is a Level 13 sword..... wtf?

The sword is levelled I think, because mine is a bit better than that if I recall. The real reward is unlocking a master blacksmith, you'll need him to upgrade any of the Witcher sets past enhanced as far as I've noticed.

still going through the main quest in novigrad still doing the contract here and there but everytime you do a mainquest it seems someone wants you to do a side quest

That's fine with me. This play through my attitude is to do as much content as possible given story/personal choices.

EDIT: Finally got some cool looking armor too, Redanian Halberdier Armor or something like that.

EDIT #2: New NVIDIA driver boosts performance even more...... now getting a stead 57-60 in the world, and 47-55ish in Novigrad, all Ultra minus High Foliage Distance and High Shadow Quality :D.

EDIT #3:

I'm slightly outperforming [this guy's] 980 set up:

GTX 980 here, ultra settings hairworks off.
Before update: 45-50 fps ultra with hairworks on (geralt only).
After update: 50-55 fps ultra with hairworks on (geralt only).

So I got 5-10 fps more. But I'm a FPS wh*** , so I turned 8 to 4 MSAA for hairworks to have steady 60 fps.

I was really excited... I just looted a Blood Sword from a chest, and I immediately recalled the Blood Sword from W1, which was awesome, and drained black like 50% of damage done as health.... this one has good stats, better than my current Silver Sword, but it has no draining/bleeding/special effect. :(

Think I have a broken quest too, "Inheritance" on Skellige.

still havent explored any of skellige yet, i went there for lamberts side quest but thats it.

my dream game would be to take the witcher story telling, world and side quests and mash it together with dragons dogma monster battles.

Just finished Rueven's Treasure, no XP, very annoying.

I went along with Triss's plan up until the torturer started saying he was going to pull her fingernails, then I killed everyone in the building. Never found Djikstra's treasure, would have been nice to, but I can on another play through.

Just starting the Whoreson Junior line now, killed everyone in his arena. I've decided to clean this city up.

Made the Ursine Armor last night, doesn't look as good as the Halberdier Armor, but it's a solid bit better and not bad looking. The Enhanced Ursine looks like it's gonna be awesome, but I'm about 4 levels too low for it even though I have everything I need to craft it.

Character appearance spoiler:

Met Vernon last night, and Radovid. Vernon was less friendly that I thought he'd be..... almost at times seeming like he had forgotten that he and Geralt helped each other quite a bit (since I sided with him in my W2 save).

Radovid's gone mad. He was quite good in W1, I remember liking him better than Foltest, he was OK in W2 - just hated sorceresses, but he seemed sane. No idea how the transtion happened, but he's a lunatic now.

I also feel like CDPR could have done a better job of continuity between the second and third games. Some characters talk like, and some plot devices/dialogue make it seem like the events of W2 took place 10+ years ago..... when in reality it's only been ~6 months from the end of W2 to the beginning of W3. Maybe some of the outside writers they hired, or in house but newly hired, didn't have great knowledge of the first two?

it could be bigger project more people involved. it could be a way for them to try and ease people into the game since many players never played the first 2 games but i do see your point, especially with roche.

with roche i chalked it up to saving triss instead of helping him annise, but the he went with the whole "i dont trust you" shit when i fucking let him kill a king without saying a word  he seemed to mellow out after i did the ves side quest with him. i felt radovid was crazy at the end of witcher 2 in a psycho type of way but now he seems loony

Good point, I did the Triss thing too.... speaking of.... where is Anais?!?! I guess he sent her off somewhere.

But yeah, the "I don't trust you" line really irked me, especially like you said, I let him kill H.

good question i have heard or seen nothing of her. yeah i let him kill him as well so you would think that would have proven my loyalty to him and we know geralt is fiercely loyal to his friends almost to a fault which made that line even more weird.

Interesting, seems like some good stuff in there.

What is:

Deploys the Bovine Defense Force Initiative.

And how do you upgrade Runestones, do you have to have a diagram?

Also, my only broken (incompletable) quest so far is Inheritance.

I guess they aren't giving us the XP we didn't get for quests that didn't give XP that were supposed to?

EDIT: :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Figured out what Bovine Defense Force Initiative is: http://kotaku.com/the-witcher-3-addresses-money-exploit-by-trying-to-kill-1709341894?utm_campaign=Socialflow_Kotaku_Facebook&utm_source=Kotaku_Facebook&utm_medium=Socialflow

oh man that is hilarious. i love when developers do creative stuff/hilarious stuff like that when it comes to fixing problems. its up there with max payne 3 and not banning players with cheats or hackers. they just stuck all the hackers and cheats into basically one server

Kind of annoying.... I got the quest The Soldier Statuette while doing Zoltan's cards quest.... but I had already started Triss's personal quest, so the dialogue option to ask her about the statuette never appeared

and now she's gone off to Kovir..... though it didn't auto-fail the quest. Still, even if I can ask her later, it's level 14 and I'm 18 now, I'm doubting I'll see her again so soon.

Also, I didn't ask her to stay. Think I'm going to go Yen this play through. While it's tempting since we've known Triss since W1, seems like Geralt had a nice family dynamic with Yennefer and Ciri. Also, did Triss know this? If I remember correctly (may not....), at the start of W1 she comes on to you pretty strong, even insinuated that you and her had a past relationship - no mention of Yennefer.

And that brings me to another point, I (and I'm assuming many other people) did a lot of side stuff before diving into the main story. As a result, I was pretty decently leveled above pretty much all of the main story Novigrad quests, so I barely got XP for completing them.

Just realized something, potential spoiler:

Zoltan's new owl...... wonder why it has no eyes....

:P

I should have realized it the second the Witch Hunter captain told me about "the owl" outside of the hiding spot. Hour or so later, after talking with Dandelion at the Chameleon for a quest I spotted the owl in the background, had a "eureka!" moment.

book spoiler:

in the book triss comes to kaer morhen and runs into ciri, triss and ciri become somewhat close triss teachers her how to be a young lady and how to stand up for herself etc. triss knows ciri has crazy powers but she knows she cant help her, it is triss who tells geralt to take ciri to yennefer. triss and geralt had a one night stand kind of thing where its basically triss used magic to seduce him and get him into bed. geralt and yennefer had a kind of turbulent relationship, but triss was still jealous of yennefer who is her best friend in the books. geralt tells triss he loves her as a friend and nothing romantically can happen between them. so in the games it almost feels as if triss takes advantage of geralts amnesia, and when he gets it back he kind of remembered his feelings for yennefer. its a weird dynamic

part of me wants to go the yennefer route and go with something close to the books but triss has been there since game 1 it would be kind of odd for me to not close the trilogy with her

I chose Shani in the first game, literally for the sole reason that at the start of Chapter III you wake up in Triss's room and she's communicating with Phillipa (I think?) while she thinks you're sleeping, and it seemed really nefarious and shady to me at the time.
