Len Cnut Posted February 8, 2017 Share Posted February 8, 2017 (edited) Gutted A writing hero of mine, wrote Hancocks Half Hour, Steptoe & Son, The Rebel...basically the chief architect, along with Ray Galton, of the sitcom format. I am absolutely shattered by this news, just shattered. Men of such genius that the BBC basically gave them free rein to write pilots to be televised with literally carte blanche to write what they wanted. The people they wrote for is like a whoose who of comedy greats, Peter Sellars, Leonard Rossitter.
