GnR lives on

Recommended Posts

Fozzy- All that Remains (10/10)- Best album of the year so far. Chris Jericho sounds quite reminiscent of early Ozzy Osbourne, and Mike Martin owns the gutiar like no other so far this year.

1. Nameless Faceless (9/10)- killer rocker. Y2J opens the album with some killer vox.

2. Enemy (11/10)- My fave new song of the year. Owns massive amounts of ass.

3. Wonderlust (10/10)- Jericho again pwns the vox. Zakk Wylde guests for a guitar solo. Orgasmic.

4. All That Remains (9/10)- Killer. Just great.

5. The Test (8/20)- Great song. Lyrics a bit shakey, but still good

6. It's A Lie (5/10)- Good song, but rap-rock feel makes it worse

7. Daze of the Week (10/10)- Duke takes a killer solo, more awesome Y2J vocals

8. The Way I Am (10/10)- Brooding rocker, more audio Walls of Jericho for the ears.

9. Lazarus (10/10)- Second best song on the album. Guitars own, Y2J continues to kick ass, just fucking great.

10. Born Of Anger (8/10)- More sort of thrash-deth-rap metal. Better than Lie though.

This album fucking owns. Spread the Fozzpell, because these guys are HUGE rockstars!

2,Master of puppets (9½/10) - 8 and a half minutes pure metal with a mad riff. one of my favourite Metallica tunes.Amazing!

3,The thing that should not be (8½/10) -Again a great metallica riff. Pretty calm, but catchy

4,Welcome home (sanitarium) (9-/10) -Starts ballady, ends up after an awesome solo

5,Disaposable heroes (8+/10) -The riff is pure metal and the lyrics are great

i fooookin recommend listening to the soundtrack from 'the Crow' - im sure youve seen it - twas Brandon Lee's last film

1 - Burn - the Cure - a crackin tune, very eery and fitting with the film, a dark and powerful song.

2 - Golotha Tenement Blues - Machines of Loving Grace - a whispery sinister creep of track, hints at rather than hits what your looking for from it

3 - Big Empty - Stone Temple Pilots - our Scott at it again, a real loungy sounding tune

4 - Dead Souls - Nine Inch Nails - an angry bastard tune that remains cool throughout

5 - Darkness - RATM - what youd expect from morello and the gang

6 - Colour Me Once - Violent Femmes - a slowish tune, pretty trippy and lazy tune

7 - Ghost Rider - Rollins Band - quality, simple, effective rock, quite Doorsy but heavier

8 - Milquetoast - Helmet - bassy and artsy kind of thing

9 - The Badge - Pantera - Loud as Fuck, awsome and unrelenting

10 - Slip Slide Melting - For Love not Lisa - guitars and power riffs, a fooookin gudden

11 - After the Flesh - My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult - a techno dancey thing, best left alone that one

12 - Snakedriver - Jesus and Mary Chain - druggy sounding slow, simple punk

13 - Time Baby III - Medicine - quality simple riff and catchy as fook, chilled as and very sing alongable

14 - It Cant Rain All the Time - Jane Siberry - from the band in the film. its a slow teary kind of track, hits you right there *thumps chest* beautiful melody and very sad subject

there we go, a right gem

Ok heres my review on Metallica's Kill em' All album

1. Hit the Lights- 8/10 Starts out with some nice drumming by Lars but then Hetfield kinda ruins it with his waily vocals. Nice solo by Mustaine.

2. The Four Horseman- 6/10 They kinda have took the starting of HTL and changed it up abit.

3. Motorbreath- 10/10 This is my favorite song on the album. It has a good riff and the lyrics are easy and simple.

AAAh fook the rest tis i cant think of explanations

All in all ok album

Boulevard of Broken Dreams (Green Day)-8/10 Very nice song I like it but it still is missing something...

Chinese Democracy ( :P Guns N Roses)-9/10 Very good song, needs a longer guitar solo.

Free Bird (Lynard Skynard)-10/10 OMG, just omg.

Kickstart My Heart (Motley Crue)-7/10 Pretty good song, pretty much over-dramatic. The guitar solo seems to be made up of mostly passing/neigboring tones. Good ending for a LIVE concert.

Silkworms (Guns N Roses)-8/10 I LOVE THIS SONG! Its just missing something in it.

Dance of Death (Iron Maiden)-8 1/2:10 Really good song I love it.

Madagascar (Guns N Roses) -9 1/2:10 INCREDIBLE SONG! I cant imagine it better.

Dream On (Aerosmith)-9/10 Very nice song.

Paint It Black (Rolling Stones)-7/10 Very interesting song.

Bohemian Rhapsody (Queen)-10/10 Perfect incredible song.

Stairway to Heaven (Led Zeppelin)-9 1/2:10 VERY good song.

The Blues (Guns N Roses)-9/10 Nice song in a MAJOR key. Very good.

We Are The Champions (Queen)-9/10 Incredible song. Makes everyone feel good.

Bloody Sunday (U2)-9/10 Incredible song with Bono's AMAZING voice.

(Any Simple Plan/Sum 41/GC/Blink182 emo shit): -7/10. Pure shit. All sounds the same.

Welcome to the Jungle (Guns N Roses)-10/10 Perfect song.

I agree with you. That's just the average rating of each of the songs. They way they are put together also adds to the score, but I didn't factor that in, so that's why the score is so low. Overall, I would say that Let It Bleed is at least a 9.5.

thets go for something random..okay ill pick something from my collection and...its Avenged Sevenfold "Waking The Fallen". ah, well then, here goes.

ive gotta be honest with you here, this really is a spectacular album if your really into metal and dont mind a bit of cheese every now and then. the band actually say that GnR is one of there main influences (dont buy the album on the basis that they might sound like GnR though, because they dont). they have 2 rather good shredders on the band and a fucking machine of a drummer and even an Axl Rose meets emo/screamo of a vocalist, and actually im surprised that they arent as much of a well known name in the UK yet. there not afraid to make each song as epic as possible, with a lot of the tracks spanning over the 5 minute mark.

if your a follower of new wave american metal, then Avenged Sevenfold, if you havent heard them yet, are the band youve been waiting for. Killswitch Engage, Eighteen Visions (bag of wank) Shadows Fall, God Forbid, Chimaira and all the rest, Avenged Sevenfold take the piss out of all of them in terms of sheer technical ability (and by far the most bearable to listen to aswell, in my opinion)

1. Waking The Fallen 1:44 - a haunting call to arms of an intro. also a warning for the cheese that is about to come -

im not going to rate an intro that lasts for 1:44

2. Unholy Confessions 4:45 - the single of the album. due to the obvious time limit this track will have had placed upon it because of its planned release as a single, it doesnt really show off the capability of this band to make an epic song. however, probably the best the band can do in the time limit to show what they can do none the less -

7.8

3. Chapter Four 5:44 - "jesus, listen to those fucking drums joe!" the words of a freind (and bloody good drummer) of mine whilst listening to the intro of this song for the first time. although a short lived one, this is the first epic of the album. once you take this band seriously, the music is fucking great. and although cheesy, its actually how unafraid this band are of taking their music seriously that makes it all so damn good. and all of us on here can see past what others would call cheesey and appreciate the music for what it is, or else none of us would be on this GnR forum.

8.4

4. Remenissions 6:08 - it astounds me how this band can turn a metal crunch up into a part ballad then back into a crunch up all in the same song, and above all, do it tastefully . a beautiful outro, which then in turn goes back into a crunch up. were beggining to see how brilliantly this band can be at turning 6:08 secs of noise into something epic.

8.7

5. Desecrate Through Reverance 5:40 - this really is one fucking Frankenstein monster of a song. it sounds like 5 songs worth of material have been pushed and molded together until they made sense. theres no questioning this bands imagination and technical prowess. thats not saying its the best song on the album, however.

8.2

6. Eternal Rest 5:14 - for all you guitarists out there, the intro solo for this song will put all of you Vai wannabe's to shame, "put the guitar down lad, just put it down" i said to myself. the riff is something that should bring out the sexual animal in you too. seeing past the cheese, this song has a fuckin awesome breakdown in it, its really powerful. a fuckin cracker of a song.

8.8

7. Second Heartbeat 7:02 - this is where these boys really fuckin give it some cock and balls. this band can write a 7:02 minute song, thats fair enough, but the beauty is that these long songs actually keep you on your toes, as theres fuckin stupid amounts of ideas flying through each of them. this band have more musical ability than all the rest of those Emo hooray for tolerance!s put together.

8.9

8. Radiant Eclipse 6:11 - Jesus, im beggining to sound like im sponsered by these guys. seriously though, this is my personal favourite from the album. its the chorus. this guy can fucking sing like a mother fucker ill tell you that much, when he stops fucking sreaming.

9.1 (its a personal favourite, not the best)

9. I Wont See You Tonight, Pt 1 9:00 - here you are folks, the Dont Cry of the album, well, if Dont Cry was a new wave american metal song that is. its got a Slash meets Dimebag (Floods) solo, piano's and everything. really, past the cheese, if you just take a listen without laughing, this really is a moving song. im listening to it right now. jesus, its fuckin amazing!

9.7

10. I Wont See You Tonight, Pt 2 4:46 - heard Pantera's Suicide Note Pt 1 and 2? same thing really. this is where they get anry after the ballad. it gets pretty fuckin heavy, and its an aquired taste, so dont take note and qoute me on my rating for this "part 2" of the song.

8.2

11. Clairvoyant Disease 5:01 - this is getting on top of me, im getting too much avenged sevenfold, not enough nicotine and not enough sleep. sure, cool song, whatever.

8.9

12. And All Things Will End 7:40 - a great way to end the album. fuckin fantastic.

9.4

Avenged Sevenfold have done more for me than Metallica ever did. go on, quote me.

by the way, ive rated the album 9.4. that rating comes from a new wave american metal point of view, not an all round view, because it would just be stupid to rate a Metal band from a Popular music point of view.

if you have the ablility to see past cheesy stuff (and you wouldnt be into GnR if you couldnt) and you like your new wave metal (no, that isnt Nu-Metal, thats a different ball game), then i couldnt recommend this album any more. because from the Emo screamos to the Shredders to those that just want something different to most of the other shite metal bands out there today, it has something for everybody.

just dont come crying to me when your complaining that it doesnt sound like the Rolling Stones or Guns N Roses, you ignorant bastards.
