sleeping stone
Highway Star all in. although it's a close one with smoke on tha water, burn and child in time stalking very closely.I think deep purple is one of the supergreatest rockbands ever.that means greater than led zeppelin.in the last years their albums cannot match the ones from the good ol days.Is there any purplers out there?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Yes!This is the band I first listened to ever. I was about 5 or 7 and I wanted to do as my brother, you know, putting the headphones on my head and theses things..and Child in Time was playing...well, I'm in love since then.EDIT: besides Child in Time my favorite is Strange Kind of Woman. sleeping stone
Child in Time!!!!Man that is one of the greatest song EVER.John Lord and Ritchie Blackmore, greatest musical duo ever. The Purps fucking rock! <{POST_SNAPBACK}>This is all true.My Dad absolutely loved 'em back in the day. Has all of their records, and used to play them very often and very loud when I was a kid. I consider myself very lucky to have grown up with such a healthy diet of quality rock n' roll. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Same here, I have the best brother ever.... Binge_And_Slash
Burn. The riff rules<{POST_SNAPBACK}>What Blackmore riff doesn't rule? <{POST_SNAPBACK}>You haven't heard Blackmore's Night have you?Anyway, Black Night.By the way Rapture of the Deep is terrific (better than Bananas) except for the last 2 songs, sound a bit medieval for me. A_Sense_Of_Rage
Woman From Tokyo was my vote, but I really like Gettin Tighter, from Come Taste the Band, which I feel was one of their best albums - Tommy Bolin is way underrated compared to Blackmore. Blackmore's Night may not be as good as the Dio era Rainbow, or Gillan era Purple. But it's still better than the shite he produced with Rainbow in the 1995 Stranger In Us All albumor most of the music on the first 3 Purple albums. BN has it's good points. Mostly I'm grateful he walked away from hard rock before he became one of those "too old to rock out anymore" casualties...But even looking at the 1993 DP dvd Come Hell or Highwater, you could tell he didn't have the heart for rock music anymore. And now he's out still playing his ass off and still making music. Way to go Ritche.Purple is in good hands anyway. Rock on Steve!
