GnR lives on
Pearl Jam is the most overrated band ever, they had one pretty good album. Mike Mccready is generic Hendrix and although he's copied a whole lot, Vedder wasn't all that great of a vocalist technically. Nirvana was original, uncompromising, and had the commercial strength to break alternative rock into the mainstream. Nuff said.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>lmao no pearl jam is underrated....dude they didnt make it too much into the mainstream.... nirvana on the hand is overrated...cobain cant sing nearly as good as vedder and he just screams and can play a total of 3 chords in most songs....only reason nirvana is deemed to be soo good is cuz of cobain's death... and talking about one good album..nirvana basically only had one album.... pearl jams has lotsa good songs..just listen to the rearview mirror cd..it's their greatest hits..... cobain sucked as a vocalist techincally...period... What about In Utero and unplugged? They didn't sell as much, but hell, they where as good as Nevermind, if not better.Yeah, maybe Nirvana has gained more popularity after Kurt Cobain's death, but The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Metallica, etc is the exact same thing. Dead Flower
There's a school of thought that Kurt was taking the piss with that Unplugged concert. When I listen to him sing Where Did You Sleep Last Night I can't help but wonder if they're right. Nightrain_Kid
Both good, prefer Pearl Jam tho. Am I the only one who thinks that unplugged in new york and VS are the best albums by both bands, in respect to Nevermind and Ten?

Wholigan
I don't really like either too much but if I had to choose I would defenilty say Nirvanas better.

alexa
They're both ok...imo Pearl Jam was more musically skilled, but i like nirvana's tunes a little bit more for some reason.
