system scan

I was wondering is there some kind of scan I can do on my computer to check the files in the C drive? I had a message pop up before on the tastbar telling me one of the files in the C directory was corrupt.. but it didn't give me enough time to write down the location (the C:blah/djdj etc).

Can anyone help? The last time something like this happened I had to totally re-start the computer which is very annoying.

uf your using windows go:-

start > accessories > system tools > disk cleanup

that should solve your problems

SS.

Thats not the one dude, that utility just deletes unwanted files from your system.

The one you want is in My Computer > Right click C:\ drive > Properties > Tools > and then under "Error checking" click check now. However, you will want to tick both of those boxes if its to solve your problem...you will need to restart Windows and upon starting you will be presented with the status of the error checking tool.
