The Allman Brothers Band

Any fans?

I bought their best of about a month ago and im really digging it. Duane Allman and Dicky Betts are guitar gods, some of the best white bluesmen ever. Gregg Allman has a great gritty blues voice. And the twin drumming is great.

My favourite southern blues-rock band, shit all over Skynyrd IMHO.

Anyway, they have heaps of great tunes.

If you think Slash is a blues guitarist (which he really isn't) then check out these dudes for some real blues.

One of my favourite bands. Betts/G.Allman were one of the greatest guitar duos ever in Rock History. Great live band too. Tons of great blues covers, as well as original songs. Blue Sky, Statesboro Blues and many many great songs.

You should get "At Fillmore East," if you want one of the greatest Live Albums ever.

Slash is a blues influenced guitarist...he just doesn't play blues

I know, it's just some people on here think he's a full blown Blues guitarist, or he's the closest thing to blues they have heard.

Anyway, great band

Great band.

Duane Allman played with Clapton on Layla.

yes Derick and the Dominos, some of the best work for both of them.

duane was an amazing guitar player all around

and the Allman brothers probably the greatest jam band.

So why not direct them to the real thing and recommend Robert Jr. Lockwood, Son Seals, Buddy Guy, T-Bone Walker, or Mike Bloomfield?

And Alan, there is blues on every rock n' roll album.
