Axl loosing his voice already is a bad sign...

It seems some people here dont realise what "warm up" shows are.

Just seems to me he may have overdone it on Friday night, give him time, he will adjust.

And I would love to have a good audio recording from Friday, sounds like he went all out and sounded AMAZING.

I heard he had troubles last night, and that he himself even mentioned that he lost his voice the other day.

I think we all can agree on how great he sounded on the 12th of may show, it really sounded like the Axl of old. But all the theories of why he sounded like he did in 01/02 seems to come to place. He protects it, realizing he will blow out his voice otherwise.

I listened to a few clips from last nights show of The Blues and Better. Blues sounded good but Better were weak compared to the previous show.

If Axl voice is in trouble already during "warm up shows" then it´s a bad sign for the whole european tour.

Meaningless post I know but...I cross my fingers...

Peace

I share similar concerns.

During the show, Axl said he blew his voice out during Friday's show and that Baz lined him up with a throat specialist to fix it. I have to admit this is a concern if this is happening after only one performance. And - even more disturbing - is that he'd be out partying both Friday and Saturday night instead of resting his voice. ... I have to say this isn't a good sign for the future. But I guess time will tell.

some people never fail to find something to complain about......

Have to say that i agree with you.....lots of people here on the forum never seems to be really satisfied.....there is always something to complain about....come on people......let't be happy about that he actually sings at all.....since it's been like 4 years since he did performe live

Looks like the rasp destroy his voice, that's why it sounded like helium in 2002,he was preserving himself from failures.

He was critisized for singing like Mickey Mouse, and now he wants to back to the old day's voice, which clearly is not the best way since he's 43 now.

Its doesnt sound good at all.. but maybe his voice will become more consistant with the vocal excersise.

I totally disagree that one.. :P it did sound good... it's just us expecting too much from him :)

Lol.. I dont mean 'his voice didnt sound good', I meant 'It doesnt sound like good news at all'. :P

oh.. haha.. sorry.. :P

I don´t think it´s called a complaint when worrying that his voice might blow out when having troubles already, not even starting to tour. Some of you guys take stuff way to personally on this board. We are all happy that the´re back and that Axl seems to be in great spirits and shape. But you have to be allowed to havee some opinions people.

Peace

The thing with Axl is he belts it out vocally with his voice for 2 hours straight. Maybe he went out after fridays night show and drank to celebrate the GnR return and didn't get enough rest. He probably will get more rest now.

i agree with u... i think hes learnt his lesson now :)

But that doesn't mean he's not gonna have problems if he doesn't take care of it.

ok,now wats up with this helium voice i keep hearin bout,

are they talkin bout the mickey mouse squeaks?

or is it somethin else,

n i stil aint sure bout this rasp thingy,

is it supposed to be the way he sounds in paradise city, wttj?

the "helium" voice is a reference to the way he approached his high notes on the '02 tour. instead of really belting them out with Axl-esque "rasp" or "scratchy sound" he used a very tight and controlled semi-falsetto to achieve those notes and it kind of sounded like he'd huffed helium. if you listen to bootlegs of "The Blues" you'll notice it on the italicized parts:

So now I wonder through my haze

And try to find my ways

To the feelings that I've felt

I saved for you and no one else

And though as long as this road seems

I know its called the street of dreams

But thats not stardust on my feet

It leaves a taste that's bittersweet

that's called the blues

And yet another variation of The Blues... I'd like official lyrics ASAP.

Not rattin' your shiz bro... just heard so many versions now.

Keep in mind who you are talking to as well.

Some of these complainers have their own agenda. If he somehow would have had Slash up on stage with him, they wouldn't care if he was speaking in tongues, let alone a bit scratchy.

Just because he likes to party doesnt mean his voice is going to fuck up.. yeah it might.. but it might still happen if he puts his pyjamas on at a decent time.. at the end of the day.. GnR is rock n roll and thats the way Axl lives his life sometimes. At least hes not a fucking liar and just does it for show. Also he cant stop enjoying himself in fear of losing his voice.. this is going t o be a fucking huge tour and a major part of his life and he will make sure he has a ball doing it!

You just rock on uncle Axl! rock3

all i know is axl sounds and looks better than ever and the band is tighter than ever, they are ready for the world this time around :shades: i believe as the european tour progresses, his voice will become increasingly better like in 2002, only even better B) we'll see how he does tonight, i can't wait! it' still unreal to me that we are experiencing axl on stage night after night! :xmasssanta:
