joe boston
100% TRUE!!, Went to GNR on Friday May 12th, drove up from Boston late Thursday night in Rain storm got To N.Y.C. about 4:30 am found a somewhat cheap hotel around the corner from the Hard Rock [called the Carter Hotel] shit hole but cheap and clean. Anyawys around noon or so my friend and i went to find out where the Hammerstein Ballroom is and check it out, we walked right into the place as they where setting up the stage and lights [pretty cool, huh]No one said a thing. So we then decided to check out the village and C.B.G.B's it was cool, it's to bad it's closing in Sept. and hung around and drank of cource at some bars in the village until about four or so, then we decided to go back to Hammersmith and see if we could deplicate what happened earlier. We walked right into the place [AGAIN!!] and made our way to the back stage area and watched everyone but AXL do sound check and reherse [they spent alot of time on the drums,] Then Mr. Rose appeared center stage sporting a red hat on backwards, shades and a ziped down sweatshirt, He and the band rehearsed I.R.S. part of Jungle and unbelievable version of November Rain!!!!!!! It was the most surreal thing i have ever seen everyone that was working and setting up the show just stopped to watch [you might have thought jesus just stepped of the cross] Anyways we spent the rest of the night backstage standing in front of Sabastian Bach [who we met while B.F.M.V. played] he was the only celeb. i reconized but then again i was drinking since noon!! my only regret is my camera phone BLOWS, and i never picked up my tix from Boxoffice i didn't want to leave the back stage area! I will take these memories to my grave11

HollyWoodRose84
Impossible. I got to the event by 11. There were still people waiting outside. NOBODY was allowed to go near the doors..let alone inside. There was this big black dude by the door. Everything was roped off.

NOBODY was allowed to go near the doors..let alone inside. There was this big black dude by the door. Everything was roped off. Im sure that there was, Believe me i know it's hard to believe but 100% true when i went to venue in the morning there was 4 or 5 people just standing outside talking, i remeber asking some kid where the box office was As a matter of fact i took this paper off a backstage door [ it was the evening itinerly sheet, which reads what time each band goes on, what time lunch is served, what time dinner is served, what time curfew is etc] which has the GNR logo on the top of the sheet.[the one with star] Also got picture with Sabastian and singer of B.F.M.V i was wearing an orange and black C.B.G.B's shirt. Believe me i know its hard to believe but it's true, what would i have gain by lying,

drops_of_jupiter
Why would you want to pick up your tickets from the box office if you were backstage? Were you backstage for the entire night? That's a lovely story, A tad hard to believe, but you're extremely lucky if it really did happen. You can put up your picture using this website: http://imageshack.us/ select the image you wish to upload, upload it, then copy the URL address and paste it here. Jackyl042
If the vocals were higher in the mix, there would not be that problem of not hearing Axl well when the crowd yells... In my view, he is too low in the mix on songs where he does not yell at 110%....
Macross
i was at the stage door when Axl arrived about 10 minutes after the doors were supposed to open and no one was getting near that door. That door was heavily watched from the time I got there (Around 6) till well after Axl and the band rehearsed Better and November Rain. That was why it took so long for the doors to open was that Axl was late to the venue and just ran inside.Sorry dude, I would love for your story to be true, but it's really hard to swallow without some picture proof. But hey, dare to dream right.

Macross
And here is my crappy cell phone pic of Axl arriving. It sucks, but there were a ton of people watching that door as you can see in the picture. I'm sorry dude, but post your pic and I'll apoligize.Axl just tore ass into the club cause he was late and there were some guys with like 50 pictures in their hands screaming "AXL SIGN THESE!!!". I went and grabbed a coffee at the Starbucks and when i came back they were finishing soundcheck on Better and then they played November Rain. Two drunk guys came up to me, my girlfriend and two friends we made who were from atlanta and hung around asking if Axl was there and we said "Who do you think is singing?" Lots of drunk people, none wandering uncheck into the club before soundcheck.
