I contacted Merck to find out why some radio stations, such as WAAF, are playing at least one of the leaked tracks - IRS. I asked if GNR management had given them permission to do so.

He said no.

No quite the opposite. They have all stopped playing it as they are complying

with "cease and desist" letters.

So, if anybody is still hearing the track being played, please post the name of the radio station in this thread.

I heard it on the radio home this morning, which station you ask? Im not going to tell, because Merck is sucking balls, and I dont want my radio station to get in trouble. Guns N' Roses has to be THE hardest band to deal with, while 99% of bands out there are fighting to get on the radio, GNR is the only band that doesnt want to be on the radio.

Detroit huh? I know exactly which one you're talking about. They won't get in trouble... but I'll respect your wish, and won't say the station name... but it's a good one!!

Guys, please keep your opinions about Jarmo to yourselves, because we don't promote forum wars here. I'm surprised comments like that aren't removed over at HTGTH, but regardless of that, we don't condone that sorta stuff here.

I'm not bashing anyone, but HTGTH does bash this site and others. Just wanted to point that out.

But who gives a fuck, for real? - If you dont like HTGTH, come here - We welcome newcomers with open arms (with the exception of some "rare" noob flaming! :P ) - And the same goes with MyGNR - You dont like it? Go somewhere else... Aside from that - No one gives a fuck. You have every option to leave or do whatever... Youre obviously here and not there for a reason...

It's funny how some people feel threatened enough by all of this to lash out the way they do. As high of a regard as we have for GNR as fans, you'd think we'd want to acknowledge the desire of the artist to have their material available only in the form of the highest quality. You would also think that we would respect them enough to recognize their copyright on their work, and not attempt to circumvent it for our own selfish reasons.

It's also funny that the responses to a simple question get twisted around and viewed as opportunities to challenge someone's perceived authority, as if in response to some imagined abuse of it towards them. No matter what people may be "tagged" as on here, there's no question that their loyalty as fans and their love of music has contributed much to the results which we too often take for granted around here. It's doubly ironic that the same fans whom were given an opportunity the likes of which would exist few other places would then turn around and disregard those who would protect a place like this from being challenged and threatened by people who have real bite to match their bark.

And no I haven't heard any radio stations around here play the track. :)

you know, anyone can look up copyrighted material. for instance to see if the copyright has expired or not, or to see who owns a copyright, etc....

so i decided to look some things up, and so far it doesn't look like any of the new stuff is copyrighted yet. this is from the ASCAP office. it lists all the GnR copyrighted material. take a look.

http://www.ascap.com/ace/search.cfm?reques...s_pp=30&start=1

i also looked on the us governments' copyright page and the same things were listed.
