  1. This pic isnt recent and the band is still in the US, travelling directly to Europe in comings days.

I know this because an old friend of mine works on the lighting for the show.

The pic isn't recent?? what are you talking about dude? i am the guy in the pic on the left it was taken on my mobile phone last night 21st may at 22:02. I was with Dizzy and Del for most of last night! We were watching the Michael Schenker Group in the Mean Fiddler, London!! Do you actually realise how stupid your post looks?

With regards to the video guys, it got cancelled!

Cool. Michael Schenker is a head case but is a master on the guitar.

  2. Earlier today I posted a reply to a topic called "what I don't understand is" or something like that, and came back later to see how the discussion went. Now I can't find it. What was done with that thread?

  3. I think Axl has a plan of what his band should consist of, and what his new music will sound like. Obviously having a a guitar "shredder" is one piece of that plan. After we hear the album it may become more clear to all of us. I like the move.

  4. In Rolling Stone when they do their celebrity spotting section theres usually celebs at small club shows in NYC...anyone think there will be some celebs at these shows? Hopefully theyre cool celebs who actually like GNR and not the Paris Hilton types who show up to be a part of the scene. And does anyone expect to see any major magazines/papers to be there? Not that Im trying to get famous or anything just trying to feel out the crowd

I doubt you'll get famous for going to a GNR concert. LOL. If so I'd be a famous bastard since 1988.

  5. Fuck all those autograph-for-profit seekers. That's all they do is put it on ebay and make money from it. Axl should only sign them to a specific person, several athletes and other celebs do that cuz then its not worth much if it is sold.

EDIT: Axl probably knows this, maybe he is doing it on purpose as part of the 'comeback' process. If the GNR comeback is hits big then I bet he stops signing for ebay hounds and the like.

  6. However the days of opening with WTTJ are short lived...

    Could happen.

People say they can't imagine seeing a GnR concert without having WTTJ opening the show, but how do they know Axl doesn't have a new kickass rock song that is also a good opener.

Exactly. Like the summertour back in 1991 where most of the shows where opened with Right next door to hell or Perfect crime. Kick ass opening songs, much better than WTTJ or It's so easy.

Wrong. At least at one show I went to. The first show they played after St. Louis in 1991. They had cancelled some shows (some equipment was wrecked in riot), then the Dallas show was the first one after that. GNR did not go on until after 11:00 though, several hours after Skid Row had finished.

The crowd was getting pissed, chairs and trash being thrown, fights were breaking out in the crowd. Then just after my buddy said to me - "If they don't start soon, there will be another riot" - BAM - the lights go out, WTTJ begins, and chaos erupts. Great rock n roll chaos. Nothing could have been better at that point. It was awesome.

  7. Any shredder session man they bring in could handle the GNR catalog quickly. It's not like they had Steve Vai playing on AFD. The only challenging parts might be Bucket's parts, but who knows if those will ever be heard or played live anyway. Also, I think people confuse "playing with feeling" with "sloppy". And I don't think faster = better, of course not. But people need to realize the ability these guys have, it would not be a problem even at this late stage.

  8. These days it is almost impossible for the average person to buy tickets to any concert in high demand.

The fact even some of the users on this board got tickets to this show is amazing.

Welcome to the B.S. world of corporations, ticketmaster, and ticket brokers! Screw the average joe!

If you got a ticket, be thankful. If not, don't get too mad, its just the way it is.

  9. i love the fact that in all the pictures of axl with james ganfolini (tony soprano, on the show) and the one we've already seen, it appears as though he's very warm toward Axl. His hand on his shoulder, smiling graciously at him- it looks like he genuinly likes Axl. It a very weird way, it almost appears like he's the father figure that Axl never had.

Some of you need to get a grip. I hope you are joking.

  10. Last nite about midnite on FSR, a national sports broadcast, the L.A.-based host mentioned CD during an intro. Van Halen 'Mean Street' was used a bumper track. He and his co host were talking about how great old VH was, Roth's failed radio show going on now, and then out of the blue, he said "you know Chinese Democracy, the new Guns N Roses record, I have something to tell you about later tonight." This was odd because they never discuss music on there, it is sports 24-7. Fox is huge. Very odd that he mentioned it. I couldn't listen to the whole show, anyone else hear J.T.? Apparently nothing new was said as I get up this a.m. Oh well.

  11. Never liked NIN, have none of their records, never went to a show.

His GNR work has not been released or may not even exist.

The New GNR concert I had tix for was cancelled (Dallas - 12/22/02) so no Finck there either.

The answer is neither. Captain Kangaroo could be the GNR guitarist, and up to this point it wouldn't be a difference to me.

  12. Both of the guys look surprised at the picture and not ready for it.

Remember that at many celebrity parties, (hell, any party) the rooms are low-lit / dark and the flash bulbs give the picture light of course. Thats why in the background of celeb party shots you usually see candles and stuff, even though in the picture the room looks bright as hell. Just something to consider. So appearing startled can happen.

  13. Axl, either by intent or by accident, goes by the credo "If you want people to think you are the sh*t, then act like you are the sh*t." And that is good. It shouldn't be any other way.
