today, we mark week two since this policy went into effect. the results are....interesting.

The "haze", that hung like a cloud over my senses, seems to disappear with every passing day. Life, was like watching the world through television. i wasnt really there, there always seemed to be a dissociation between me and the real world. I can't describe it better than that. Colours seem brighter, sound clearer, things smell different, i feel more energetic.... and this knowing i drank two units a week, tops. basically, i feel like a kid again. Kids see the world differently. Everything matters more. Well, turns out not only kids can feel that way.

Weird. I'm what some may refer to as, "a heavy drinker." I havent had a drink in almost 2 weeks and aside from sleeping a little more soundly, I feel no different at all. I guess I eat more, but no other change, really.

Especially because, writing a song is a good way to work through rough shit. No one ever has to work through feeling good.

I've tossed around some ideas for songs, wrote some stuff down. As far as writing, I have such a lack of motivation or inspiration. I was a lot better at writing lyrics when I was fucking miserable and self loathing. No one wants to hear a song about how everything's pretty much good.

Physical will never go away. But they will drastically cut their costs. You think Blu cases are cheap pieces of fuck now? Wait til studios get worried. Say goodbye to Blu/DVD combos. I don't care if you have a fucking Gigabit connection, streaming does not compare.

I feel like I haven't played guitar in months.

Dammit Graeme, how many times must we tell you, the volcanologists should, and will, always be the first to die.

PS2 has component output. Some games run 720p and 1080i. PS2 still wins.

Of course there's a difference. Blacking out is fine on the weekend. Not when you work the next day.

Check the truss rod. Clamp the strings before the first fret, and after the last fret. You can use a capo on the first fret if you need to.

Now check the space between the frets and strings. You should be able to fit between a business card and a penny between the frets and strings. If the strings and frets touch, that's your issue.

If everything looks ok there, you either have a lifted fret or an action issue with either the nut (more likely) or the bridge (not as likely with buzz on the 7th).

It's a cool thing to do, but a minor embellishment that is not worth risking an expensive guitar's functionality. If you're loaded with cash and have 20 Les Pauls... sure, go for it.
