Yes, I posted 997 downloads because that's what it was at the time. Then you made your snide remark about it being "views" not "downloads". So I went to double check because, as I mentioned, a bunch of people obviously wanted to see it. There was a point to my post and it was right there in plain sight: there were a lot of downloads because people obviously wanted to see this booklet.

Very interesting, but in the end it's better that they didn't release this version.

Why?

This version makes the album look like Axl's solo effort with all the commentary, and has zero pictures of band members. Unlike the released version.

They should have had Axl's commentaries AND band member pictures.

That's what I would've liked to have seen. In an ideal world, I'd have loved the alternate artwork but with one pic of the lineup in 06 (not live, all in one room) at the end after the thank yous.

Interesting point - didn't Axl indicate Riad was a relation of Everly or Seymour? Maybe the guy sued... or was at least threatening to (Axl might even have feared there's a possibilty he would)?

Apparently they rehearse Riad a lot (well the band do, not sure on Axl) so im sure the intent of wanting to play it is there, but I guess there never is the 'right' moment?

I was fortunate enough to have seen them perform Riad in 02 at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Of course, the show got cut short as Axl threw his mic twice during Patience and walked out after it without an encore, but I still got to hear Riad. Plus Axl sang the end of The Blues as high as it ended up on the album.

The text is really interesting.. Makes for alot of hours of analyzing.. !

Agreed. The message from Axl at the end of his "Thank yous" is my favorite part of the whole booklet.

B) I can tell you guys, as I'm the one who obtained and scanned it, that it is 100% real, in a jewel case and when I received it, it was shrink wrapped with the "Best Buy Exclusive" sticker on the front.

I initially posted pics I took from my phone of the whole booklet and posted them at GNRevo just everyone could see it. Then when a request was made for scans, I scanned each in, uploaded them to

TinyPic, zipped them together and threw them on the 4shared link.

I just checked my 4shared account and saw that there was 300 downloads of it and was like "Hmm, I bet this got posted at mygnr or something"

In any case, thanks again Manets for giving credit to where it was posted originally. I'm not here all that often but if anyone has questions on the booklet or whats more/specific scans, feel free to stop by GNRevo and

send me a PM. I can try to fulfill whatever someone needs!

Thanks heaps for posting the scans man. There were some selfish people that tried hoarding the booklet for whatever. Fuck them. Can I ask if you think or know if we will get a full re-release with the alternate artwork through Best Buy? Can you elaborate on how you got this?

No problem whatsoever! I always said I wouldn't make a very good GNR hoarder. I know there's people out there that want to see/hear stuff just as bad as I do. The first thing I did when I got it when take pictures of every single page and upload them to gnrevolution.com because I know I was dying to see more of the book than "hoarders" were letting us prior and I knew others wanted to as well.

As far as how I got it, the best explanation by far really is "right place, right time". I literally had completely dumb luck and got a copy.

As far as future releases, I don't know (or pretend to know) anything more than anyone else. Years ago, I knew people who worked for this label or that label and heard a few things here and there, but that was the extent of it.

it's been about fifteen years or so since gnr started it's new generation with a new lineup. looking back over all the shows, all the music, and all the excitement, what would you say are the salad days of NuGnR? any leg of the chinese democracy world tour stick out to you as the best? maybe it was the epic release of the album? or the axl chats?

what would you say is NuGnR's high water mark? do you think it will ever be that great again?

For me, it was that first Hammerstein show. You could cut the electricity in NYC with a knife, GNR were on FIRE. Bonuses being that I got to see them play Better, IRS & TWaT for the first time they'd ever played them live and of course that it was Ron's very first show with them.

I saw GN'R do Riad live in Detroit in 2002. It honestly wasn't a very good performance of the song, but I was there for it nonetheless.

I noticed that it had a hole punched in it which leads me to believe that it's a promo or record label copy

Haven't taken a super close look at these yet. Do they at least have the correct lyrics in them?

I'd love to see a US Tour. New material or not. I love seeing my favorite band whether they're promoting something or not.

I would love for Tommy to come to Detroit on this tour but so far it looks like it's not in the cards.

I have to admit I've finally succumbed to nostalgia for Buckethead. Yeah he was weird in style but with people like Lady GaGa being huge that kind of shit is acceptable now. And as much as I like Bumble--he's a nice guy, he's a great rhythm player and good at lead parts, IMO, he doesn't compare with Buckethead in terms of soloing or his lead skill. Where Bucket could play almost any style ranging from the rigidly technical to the fluid and emotional, Bumble seems to be a very messy, shred focused player. He seems to be like a sloppier version of Bucket with 10 times less the range or talent. It's like replacing Mick Taylor with Ronnie Wood.

If you had had to pick a replacement, who would you have picked--Who could fill that sort of similar technical meets emotional, wide ranging style?
