  1. While the delayed lyrics is an artistic choice that adds to the overall ‘chaos’ of the song - it’s a little irritating and detracts from the overall punch IMO.

Also - I listened to the live version from Detroit and the little solo duels back and forth between Slash and Fortus definitely add to the song and it’s lacking in the studio version.

But overall I like it. It’s aggressive and doesn’t take itself too seriously. And it ticks the box of getting something ‘new’ on this tour. It is what it is….

I didn't want to post here anymore, but that interview is just pissing me off.

The "spirit of 2006" (due to lack of a better term for the peak of "Nu" GNR at least in concert) was a thousand times more valuable than this ass kissing and backstabbing interview from Richard. I haven't heard him say anything among those lines when he had the honor of performing alongside Izzy back in 2006. I can see him being frustrated with Ashba having personal chemistry with Axl, but taking Richard taking a piss on Buckethead or Ron is Richard pissing WAY upstairs, both musicially and personally.

For the record, it was Ron who saved all your asses back in 2006 because Axl for the life of him just wouldn't tour without a third guitarist once Bucket was gone and no one else was available, capable AND affordable at the same time back then. It was Ron who had the guts to face the challenge and managed to fit in musicially and get a nod from the fans after just a few shows - by sheer skill, class and dedication. It was Ron who brought back songs like "Don't Cry" and "Estranged" into the back then very AFD heavy set, trying to build bridges with fans on and off stage, speaking up and showing some actual spine WHILE HE WAS STILL IN THE BAND while everyone else was just on their own little rockstar trip, collecting the paycheck and desperately trying to stay in Axl's good graces because they had no other noteable paying gig to show for.

Robin and Tommy had their own standing before and without Axl, they can get along just fine doing what they love. So does Ron and surely Buckethead, two of the greatest guitarists of our time. But Richard? Dude, let me get this straight and please correct me if I'm wrong - you've been in this band for 20 years and didn't come up with a single original song, not for a solo project, not for a GNR album, not for a GNR b-side, not for an outtake, not even for a sideshow filler in concert. Nothing. Nada. None. This is Guns N' Roses you can play your ass of for 20 more years but no will ever take you REALLY seriously if you don't come up with a fucking song! The respect you have earned is because of your loyalty and dedication and I'm amazed how you can ruin all that by a single interview, at least for me. And by the way it was Ron's parts that Axl choose over Brian fucking May, not yours. Before GNR your biggest gigs were playing for (not with!) Britney Spears and N'Sync. Your most respectable gig outside Guns was a little studio work for Fiona Apple and touring with the tenth incarnation of whatever was left of Thin Lizzy. You wanna talk about chemistry? Remember when Izzy stood next to Axl on stage back in 2006 and thousands of people went apeshit? That is chemistry. Remember when Angus was mopping the floor with all of you except Axl at Coachella? That is chemisty. Remember when Ron won over tons of fans by dusting off "Don't Cry" and "Estranged" ALONE AND INSTRUMENTALLY ONLY BECAUSE AXL WOULDN'T SING IT AND NONE OF YOU GUYS WOULD SUPPORT HIM BUT HE WAS PLAYING IT REGARDLESS FOR THE FANS? That is also chemistry. Glad to hear you guys in NITL get along great, but the TRUTH is no one in the NITL lineup has any of that "chemistry" - you guys are just playing alongside not with each other and anyone who has seen enough to know the difference will confirm that.

For the love of god please end this reunion mess and bring back Izzy, Adler, late starts, drugs, rants and tantrums. Blame it on Corona. Blame it on Trump if it helps. As much as I'd take the AFD5 over any other lineup, I'd surely take any 2002 or 2006 show over the best NITL concert.

    Is that you, Ron?

Matt has always seemed to have a very inflated view of himself. He’s had a successful career but the only band he can really call his own is Velvet Revolver. Other than that he’s pretty much just been a hired gun. Him and Marky Ramone are a lot alike in the sense that they think they are more important than they actually are.

    I agree, to an extent.

But no matter which way you slice and dice it - he played on 2 of the 3 most important albums the band has ever done (and ever will do). That in itself demands respect

Was just checking out love spit love videos on youtube the other day and boy I enjoyed Frank's drumming there. I don't know if it's the genre they're playing or if he play his original stuff he can actually pull off a great groove.

I recently really got into Love Spit Love. Great band, Richard Fortus on guitar with the brilliant Richard Butler on vocals

  5. I lost count of how many times Matt loses his shit at not being treated as an equal. It was one of the running themes throughout the book

The big GNR 3 going for an extra bow after one of the shows, being listed as an additional musician on Live Era, he got mad at Slash for wanting a different manager in VR, issues in the Cult, not getting in a red carpet photo shoot with the Hollywood Vampires  etc etc. Not saying it’s without merit in some of these cases, but the guy has drummer syndrome and is super sensitive to being seen as less than equal. At times I kinda wished he focused on his blessings and the opportunities he was given by other musicians.

That said, I think the way Slash and Duff handled the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame was piss poor. You don’t treat an ex band member like that - esp one that played on 2 of their 3 most successful albums. If they had their way, he wouldn’t have played, wouldn’t have spoken and wouldn’t have even have seat at their table. Friendship out the window after a move like that
