Have heard about that before and I don't find it hard to believe. Axl himself even talked about needing to psych himself up for going on stage.
-
I can be quite critical of Axl and the things he does sometimes, but seriously? People here are bashing him over this?!
These people were obnoxious assholes. I got uncomfortable from all the crowding and "AXL! AXL! AXL!"- hollering just watching that video. I would have told them to get the fuck away from me too and I'm not dealing with this shit on a daily basis.

Axl's B-Day
in 2012
Saphyra, I think the cake turned out great! It looks really nice (and yummy!).
-
Happy Birthday, Axl!

I'd love for them to play in Munich. Or better yet, come to Austria again...

Anyone know if Axl's cat is declawed?
I like cats but not when they pull a Freddy Krueger on furniture and people.
People have their cats declawed? That sounds so mean! Just buy them a scratching post then they'll leave the furniture alone. In my experience cats only scratch people who were asking for it.
I think it's a US thing. The first time I read that I was really confused and disturbed as well. Not something that's done here in Europe as far as I know (thankfully).

I used to have a ginger-haired cat named Axl and a black-haired one named Slash. They got along really well. B)
-
Nah, I don't think so.
I still remember when I bought my first GnR albums... the first one I bought was UYI2 I think and it was still a couple of years before CD would be released...
-
Well, I can't help but agree with Courtney. Axl does have a very nice nose

Not ChrisMaciel, but I assume he is talking about this one:
And Axl has definitely been wearing contacts since the 80s, because I remember Slash (?) telling a story about how Axl freaked out because he couldn't find his contacts before an important record company meeting or something.
Aww they suit him! And yes, the story goes that just before they were going to go sign with Geffen Axl freaked out because he "couldn't find his contacts", everyone went about looking for them while Axl disappeared. Apparently they found the contacts under the couch (?) and when they went about to tell Axl they couldn't find him. They eventualy found him sitting on the roof of Whiskey a Go Go. Its mentioned in Steven's book (I think maybe Slash's too?) and I remember Vicky Hamilton mentioned this story in an interview somewhere too...
Ah yes, thank you, I forgot about the sitting on the roof of the Whisky part
I read both Slash's and Steven's books (and Duff's), plus a couple of other books on GnR, so I get confused on who said what sometimes. But you're right, both of them (plus Vicky Hamilton) have probably told that story. The whole thing must have had a lasting impression on them all
And yeah, I think glasses suit Axl as well. He should wear some more often.

There is a photo of Axl wearing glasses in 2002/2003. He was doing some shopping with Beta.
Can you show that photo to us?

OMG. Why is it that the more I read into the Slash v.s. Axl fiasco, the more it ends up sounding like a f*cking love story in my head?!
Thank God I'm not the only one They sure had one bitter break-up...
And thanks for posting. I've never come across this before for some reason and don't doubt it really happened. I can picture Slash saying these thing in 1997. Fits well with other things we know he has said and done.
-
I would just be worried about the casting. I don't know how I would feel about some random actor portraying my favourite musicians
This. I love the idea of a GnR movie (especially one dealing with the 1985 - 1995 era), but I can't think of any actors that I'd like to see (or could even tolerate) as Axl, Slash, Izzy and Duff.
-
Axl's just saying Slash and Duff are the only ones reliable enough to actually pull something like a reunion tour off.
He's right, too: Adler is a total fuck-up and if I were Axl there's no way I would consider working with him either. That guy could potentially cause just so many problems... As for Izzy, he's just got this flighty nature and supposedly doesn't like going on big tours... not exactly ideal either, but I suppose things could be worked out with Izzy.

And there I though Americans only kept their shoes while inside the house on tv lol
They even have their shoes on the furniture lol.
I know Fernando but who are the other people?
I'm only guessing here, but the other guy might be Beta's older son? And the women... their wives/girlfriends maybe?
Where did this picture come from anyway??
(And Americans keeping their shoes on in their house weirds me out, but actually having shoes on while on the couch or other furniture is giving me a minor aneurysm :xmassrudolph: )

Is file nr. 5 not working for anyone else?

Frank Ferrer
in 2011
I prefer Frank over Sorum and Adler. If it ever comes to a GnR reunion in any shape or form, I hope they get him as their drummer.

Interesting fact: I hated Better when I first heard it. I feel silly now.
Does anyone else feel that the "I told you when I found you if there were doubts..." stuff is one of the best GN'R moments ever? Or the "You decide..." from Catcher? Those are some of the holy shit moments for me, as well as the "It's such a crime" part of IRS and the ending of Street of Dreams to a minor extent.
I was rather inidfferent to Better as well, when I first heard it. Now it's one of my favorite CD songs.
Agreed on the other points. I'm also really fond of the "What this means to me is more..." part in Street of Dreams.

I really hate the way they talk about Axl. Kind of makes me wanna punch whoever wrote this in the face.
And I love Slash, but the way he is constantly praised and applauded for everything, while Axl gets trashed by these media types, makes me understand why Axl is so reclusive and rarely gives interviews and stuff.
Also, keeping the feud alive with these types of articles sure does nothing to help faciliate a reunion of any sort.
-
Oh cool, thanks!

I wanna know where the hat Axl's wearing in these pictures is from. I kinda like it (although I wouldn't spend all the money it probably costs on it)

If Bumble feels that bad he should go home. His parts can be picked up by the others and the fans would surely understand why he isn't there.
Blaming Axl is stupid Ron is an adult and should say enough is enough.
He has never blamed Axl of anything. Please don't make things up.
I think what she is refering to (correct me if I'm wrong) is the people in this thread who said that if Axl had guilted/pressured Ron into going on the tour (cause Axl would be sued if the tour was cancelled) that Axl was an idiot for doing so. We don't know anything about Axl having done this, it's pure speculation and yet people jump to conclusions and lashes out at Axl without knowing the facts.
I did not see the live stream (which I am kinda glad I didn't as it sounds pretty heartbreaking) so I don't know what Ron said/did but I agree we shouldn't blow this out of proportion and speculate like it has been done in this thread. The last thing Ron needs right now is having to deal with rumours and speculation on top of these hard things he is dealing with right now.
I had no idea about his dad, that is so very sad and my heart goes out to them all and I genuinely hope the best for Ron, he seems like such a truly sweet and goodhearted person based on what I've heard and my own encounter with him.
I understand that fans worry when seeing Ron in such a state, some of his tweets has had me worried too I admit that, but I think we owe it to Ron to not make his situation worse by creating speculation and drama. If he feels like it he will address the situation and if he doesn't...well, then we gotta respect that. Right now all we can do is show him our support and that we are deeply grateful for what he is doing for us fans right now by being on tour when he is struggling like he is. I'm not even going to any shows on this tour as I live in Europe but I'm still grateful and extremely impressed by Ron and him doing this tour, it's so amazing of him that he's going through with it. And if he decides he cannot do it anymore I doubt any fans would be angry with him as he has valid reasons for saying stop.
All my best wishes to you, Ron.
Yes to all of this.
Sidenote: RocketQueen, I really like your posts. 95% of the time you say exactly what I'm thinking (and thereby save me from the work of typing)

Sorry but I can't be bothered to read through this entire thread so I'm gonna ask: What members will be inducted? The AFD line up right? And Matt? What about Dizzy? If Matt gets in so should Dizzy
Yeah, all of these. Original line up, plus Matt and Dizzy.
Slash's new album is titled......

Oh god, the title and the artwork are so corny and lame, but I'm really looking forward to this. I liked Slash's last album a lot and have high hopes for that one as well.
