  1. Here's a good one. What country were the original GNR masters for a recording session pre-AFD found in a garden shed?

forgot to post the answer. Scotland.

Bonus point for the town anyone? This is 100% true btw.

answer- i think it was either Dunfermline, Dumfries or Ayr.. cant remember.

Bonus point 2. Who was the producer? (also Scottish)

    Manny Charlton (ex Nazareth)

Some info on the tape: http://recordmecca.com/item-archives/guns-n-roses-original-1986-demo-tape-from-earliest-sessions/

But Manny obviously also had a copy :)

  2. GNR has to do more than a festival.

If a reunion happens, they better do a whole US tour and world tour. You can't make it too difficult for fans to buy tickets. That would suck.

I want them to come back to Dallas because the 2 times Axl and GNR came to Dallas they pretty much sold out. Imagine touring with the original members. It would be crazy.

I would pay to see Slash and Axl do whatever song they want to do. I don't care how many times I've heard GNR songs. This would be epic.

More epic than when they played together as 25 year old dudes and took the world by storm? When they debuted new songs to audiences around the world? When they unleashed beast songs like jungle and November rain and sweet child of mine and you could be mine and estranged?

Today it would be epic? Lol.

    Yes it would.

Like Duff said. average age of aerosmith 66. Black sabbath in their sixties also. the stones? 70s. Age doesnt matter if you want to sell out stadiums.

    Quality of music does. GNR

  3. It's happening. You don't have to have friends in high places or cousins related to nanny's or be an insider.

    It's fucking obvious now.

Still no word from the GNR camp with Slash and Axl keeping quiet was enough for me. The constant rumors since and the tweets from GNR twitter about reading between the lines 100% confirms this for me. Once they are ready to announce it then they will. I don't think it will be 2016 however (unless it's late 2016). More like 2017 tour. But we can hope!!

  4. Scott said it. It must be true.

Can he tie his own shoelaces yet?

Love Scott but really.. he's this desperate for any publicity?

He is desperate of publicity because he answered a question in an interview?

No because he has absolutely no insight into what is going on. So why not just say that?

Scott said it. It must be true.

Can he tie his own shoelaces yet?

Love Scott but really.. he's this desperate for any publicity?

This desperate? At least Scott was in a band with Slash, Duff and Matt for years. Unlike the people like the dude from slipknot or eagles of death metal or fred durst who barely have a connection to anything GNR related.

Scott may well have been "in" a band but due to the accounts of many he was largely absent. Never around and even travelled on a different tourbus from the other guys. He doesn't know anything. He's attention seeking and jumping on the GNR bandwagon like so many others right now.

No one knows except the people involved and they are not about to announce anything to anyone until it's final

  5. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh, this changes everything! Some guy said it's happening?? Well why didn't someone just tell me that!? If some guy says it, then I need to start looking into flights & accomodations ASAP.

Can you cover mine too? i'm broke :)

Seriously do you think we'd find out on a forum about something this huge before it's inked on paper and good to go? Lots of legals and plans need worked. I can only imagine.

  6. The songs have nice parts but there's a reason they don't go further than demo stage. Still love them. GNR has so many hidden gems i really hope the original guys that wrote our favorite songs reunite and find that spark again. It's very very rare in bands and in particular between two or even three people. Lot of time wasted but in some ways not. People have to find their way in life and i bet the outside influences didnt help.

  7. Matt contradicts himself like fuck. On the one hand he comments about Axl being late as disrespectful and on the other he's saying the Foo's lack "danger" and unpredictability. He's always nice when i've met him (several times now) but i wish he'd get a grip on stuff like this and be consistent. When VR broke up in Glasgow his comments on their site were also very ill thought out.

  8. Axl dissolved the band to take ownership of the band through the name and then had the old guys come in as his employees. According to Slash, THAT was it.

This is pretty common knowledge among the fans.

Yes but if you read why that happened it's pretty obvious the band members quit. With the exception of perhaps Duff.

It became final when Axl essentially gave up and issued the legals.

Yet, Axl was the one being evasive in the studio and beyond. Sorry, no.

There is also a ton of material the members worked on that didn't have vocals. Want to guess why?

Slash took the best bits and brought out Snakepit album.

  10. Perla was one of the reasons that led Slash to quit GNR is my understanding of the situation.

Axl and Perla also do not get along.

Perla and Slash weren't even a pair when Slash quitted GNR.

Wrong. They were dating. Met a few times and then it got more serious around 1997. Perla was very vocal to Slash about certain things

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/music/rockandpopfeatures/7820653/Slash-interview.html

Like I said. They weren't even a pair before Slash leaving Guns.

They had a one night stand the day before Slash got married with Renée, his first wife. You can read it in Slash's autobiography.

In '97 Slash was out of Guns and hadn't talked to Axl in quite some time.

They had way more than a one night stand. I've read Slash's biography and that's his take on things. But was he in any frame of mind to remember? She has always been very vocal about Axl and once she was involved it was very hard for Slash to have any relationship with Axl.

If i wrote a book that said you were full of shit would you believe everything that was written?

There's also a lot of rumors out there that Perla was part of the reason VR fell apart. Obviously the Scott drug issue was there but she was involved in a lot of things those guys didn't like. Overall Slash is better off away from that negativity. The fact she cheated on him a few times was more than a little kick in the teeth also.

It confuses me everytime when people are looking for excuses to "proof" that the break up wasn't Axl's fault but everybody else's.

It wasnt all Axl's fault but it was mainly Axl. Don't try to rewrite history.

Slash left GNR not Axl. I'm not re-writing history.

It absolutely was not all Axl's fault. Slash was strung out bad. What use was he to Axl or indeed anyone around then? Axl isn't blameless but it was a band with multiple problems with each member.

    I said it wasn't all Axl, didn't I?

But again. Basically Slash never leaved GNR. Never. Axl leaved. First he took the name and then he leaved and started a new band. This new band he named GNR, because he took the naming rights before.

    That's a fact.

Slash was strung out most of the time back then. That's a fact too. But he was functional. Axl wasn't. He wasn't strung out but he wasn't able to go to the studio with his band members either. So he wasn't functional. All that is very well documented.

    again wrong.

Slash left GNR. He quit. Axl didn't leave. He was the only one left. As for Axl "took the naming rights" that is impossible. They had to be signed over. Slash signed over his rights? this all happened early 90's also.

With Axl i dont think it was so much as he "wasn't able" i think he didn't want to. Perhaps as the band was a mess at that point in his eyes.
