  1. Popped into our local HMV store yesterday, sure it was a Tuesday, sure i popped over to the Gn'R section, sure it was my fisrt visit to a record store in over 2 months and sure enough there was no CD and i walked out the store with a DVD and a The Best of Depechemode CD :D

Over in the Gn'R section it looked pretty poor. There was 1 copy of UYI and 1 copy of UYU 2 and no other Gn'R albums. It's a pretty big record store and the thought hit me that HMV are not expecting Chinese Democracy anytime soon as there simply wasn't shelf space and to make shelf space would have taken a lot of work (as was the design of the shelving).

    I have only two questions:

Which is worse: The fact you thought you'd see Chinese Democray on the shelf, OR

The fact you purchased a "Best of Depechmode" cd (of which those three words should never be part of a sentance in that order!) :P

hahaha he was probaly depressed by the "no chinese democracy cd" that he went over to buy dpeche mode to drown in his sorrows..

  2. don't get me wrong, i love gnr, always have loved them, but 13years for an album.. i mean im not saying ive waited 13years, not at all.. ive honeslty been waiting since 2002, when they made that vma comeback, thats when i really had hope for the nugnr..

anything before that i knew wasnt really possible because i dont even think axl had his band together right.. i think only recently axl and the rest of the band has really glued as a band. sure they may have recorded so much stuff together, but there was never really a final product.. i think - today and this year is the year that the band really glued together and became a real band. and this is the time when their true music will come out, maybe not in a cd.. but in rehersals, and writing new material, i think once chi dem is out.. you would probaly see more albums more frequently from these guys.

  3. well the longer you leave it(13years) the harder it gets to release i guess, all the hype, the anticipation. now he's gotta live upto 13years of anticipation, when you work on something for 13years, ppl expect it to be not just great, but a masterpiece.

im afraid the longer axl leaves it, the harder its going to be for him to please everyone.

  4. everyone in the area, or who can get in the area, to where the guns n roses album was apparently blaring from geffen records, should all meet up there and organise a day, where almost a protest should occur, signs, and chants for the album outside geffen records.

either that or just ignore the rest of gnrs activity.., its a simple pyschologigal thing..

you ignore someone, they want to reach out to you

you bug somoene, it pushes them away

  5. an artist is always critical of his own work, i mean i draw pictures, and i know im good, but no matter what people say about my work, i always think it could be a little better.

i remember axl saying for the uyi albums he was going over it with a "fine comb" i think that habits just gotten worse as the years progressed., hes too critical on his own work, and strives for perfection in his own mind, not anyone elses opinion

    my guess anyways

I understand striving for perfection, but there comes a time to just let it go. Would you as an artist, no longer show your work to other people because you don't think it's perfect? Even if 90 percent of people told you it's great? It just doesn't make sense to me.......

yeah i getya, i know as an artist even if your not totally 100% satisfied with your work, that you have to just get it out there, and say fuck it, here it is.., when people look at art, and say its perfect, they dont see the mistakes you think youve done, because they think in their mind, that was meant to be there..

i apologize for comparing my art to gnr music, but its one way i could relate to what may be happening..

  7. yeah, axl strives for something, which is almost impossible to do nowdays, i mean i know alot of people say, theres so much more you can do with rock, but honestly, its not just about the music, its about being in the right place at the right time, for the right movement..

  8. yeah, i agree.. that could be a possibility, once he said on the mtv awards that it was hard to replace what was once gnr..

he would have a high quality of expectations from the new guys, and it would be hard to once shock the music world with his music..

    its just rarely done anymore..

what happened to the beatles?, led zeppelin you know, theres not any musicians out there nowdays that take the music scene by storm anymore..

i think axl is trying to become that.. someone who will always be remembered as a musical genius, in which he is.. maybe he just doubts his work

  9. i wonder what it was..

    probaly knockin on heavens door.

"ALLAH WONT ALLOW THIS MUSIC.. LETS GO BLOW UP SOMETHING.. YAY!"

who the hell bans music nowdays

in a world where people die for oil, and murderers can release books on "how i would have killed my wife"

    why?.

    stupid.
