  1. i don't know darknightfan either but i'd take the risk of presuming that maybe she wants a little bit more than just to sleep with him. maybe she also wants him to like her as a person, to care about her, to understand her and so on. in this case, give him a chance to get to know you better, communicate, as Len said, and like Apollo said, ask him out to the movies or wherever he'd like to go. success is not guaranteed but this is how you learn about yourself and the opposite sex.

just don't be dead serious about it ;)

Don't complicate things. She just wants the D.

I'm pretty sure she wants the D_S.

  2. Gigantic asshole move by both Axl and DJ.

Way completely disrespect everybody who helped create that album.

If anybody deserves this it would be Robin or Buckethead. Not some douchebag who wishes he could play their parts.

It shows how deluded Axl must be....

Once again, Robin and Buckethead would have already received their years ago. DJ's plaque was likely a result of Axl lobbying the RIAA to award DJ considering he's been somewhat central to its promotion once the band started touring the full album.

What this shows, more than anything, is that Axl appreciates loyalty. From an outsider's perspective, it would appear that DJ has been very loyal to Axl and the band since he joined. This, coupled with DJ helping to promote the album for five years, likely meant a lot to Axl and he wanted to show his appreciation.

Keep in mind that the RIAA hands out a lot of these plaques. Here's what it says on the RIAA site with respect to who gets an award: "RIAA does not limit the amount of plaques a music label or artist can create nor do we say how many plaques were produced (if any) for a particular project. Our role is to certify the title, and then the recipients are free to purchase authorized plaques from RIAA approved, licensed framing companies." In other words, anyone can get an award, so long as they had something to do with the album in a manner that's up to the artist. Having done some recording at one of Canada's premier recording studies (Metalworks), I've seen awards bestowed to catering and chauffeur companies.

The fact that DJ has received one shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone if you're informed about how commonplace these awards are.

You be quiet. This is an outrage of the highest order and we will not let common sense get in the way of our temper tantrum.

  3. Maybe we are over analyzing it, but the problem is, Ashba is such a wanker it is impossible to refrain from interpreting everything the guy does as evidence of, wanker-type behaviour. If it was anyone else, you would perhaps give them the benefit of the doubt.

Yeah, but on the great wanker scale of life you rank right up there with him and nobody gives a shit about what you do. Explain that one.

Who pissed in your beer, today?

Lack of beer, that's my problem. Just fucking with you though, you know you're not as big a wanker as DJ.

  4. It makes me very upset when people on a GNR fan forum chat with each other about GNR. Those people need a life. I'm all set, even though I'm commenting on people who I say need a life.

Surely you're not referring to me? None of the DJ insults in the world effect me in the least. I'm not white knighting for any emo tosser that can't play his guitar, just contrasting different results for different wankers.

  6. Makes about as much sense. He's played more AFD than CD. How much has AFD sold since DJ joined the band? Whatever it is, he deserves the credit. He's put in the work.

Serious question here. Why do you care so much about a guitarist that you don't care about getting an award for an album that you don't care about?

I don't care that much. Unfortunately, DJ is in GNR and I just enjoy shooting the shit about anything related to GNR. So I wouldn't even say I don't care about DJ or the album. I don't particularly like either one, but that's a different thing.

If you have anything more interesting to talk about re GNR in 2015 please make a thread about it. I'll happily post in there.

Well, I want to see if anybody else feels that Slash would look good in a yamaka since Downzy won't let me discuss it in the 'Axl's bald' thread, so I've been mulling over starting a thread about that. Other than that I have nothing.

He would not look good. And it wouldn't be the yarmulke's fault.

I think he would look great because how could he not with all 53 hairs jutting out randomly around the circle? But we probably shouldn't discuss this here.

  9. That fucking shit was horrible. Fuck you Groghan for tricking me into watching that. Whodat??? More like somebody please shootdat. Fuck! My ears need a cleansing.

    She is pretty terrible live.

But apparently a huge sensation right now with multiple songs in the top 40

I'm going to accept my position in life as an old man because I will never understand how something that shitty could be popular. I really would rather listen to that album of Axl farts that gets brought up now and again.

  10. Hopefully dj will never have those song credits. Oh and yes, Slash deserves to be in gnr. Much more than any guitar player hired to replace him.

Slash in Guns N' Roses? I don't know... would he fit musically? with Axl's voice I mean. :D

    Now? Perfectly.

You don't really believe there's zero chance they can come up with something decent together musically even now.

Maybe on their own they're shit to you, but Axl can still sound good in the studio (Angel Down for example) and Slash just lacks inspiration imo, and Axl has the potential to inspire him. You agree with me. *does jedi hand gesture mind trick*

Could go either way. Could be amazing or could be amazingly shitty. Either way it would be entertaining.
