  1. Yeah, I know about all these cases. My question wasn't really whether such things happen, because these are well-documented, even in my national media, but whether it is....normal. As in: what we could expect based on comparisons police forces in other countries. This doesn't mean we should be satisfied with the situation (far from it!), just that IF US police is similar to other comparable police forces around the world, then maybe it isn't as bad as media typically presents it.

I don't know because I'm not familiar with the police of other countries. Do the police average at least one murder of an innocent and/or unarmed person a day where you live?

No, but mine is a much smaller country, I guess we have to look at the data per capita. Maybe the frequency is similar, but we don't get as much flac as USA because there would be like a murder every 6th year, or whatever, so people don't feel it is a big problem. The curse of USA is that it is such a large country so you have such things happening relatively often, every month, which keeps it in people's minds and make it easier for them to feel this is a large problem. Again, I am not saying they don't have a right to consider it a huge problem, and that this might not be symptomatic of a failing system, just that I like pondering about less obvious causes for something which might comprise a small but significant component behind something.

I wish the frequency would drop to once a month, that would be a very major improvement. I guess since neither one of us know about the police forces in similar sized countries we can't say either way, but I find it strange that your country reports about the US and not other countries if they're doing it. I wonder how China does with their massive population. Should be way worse than the US being that they're commies and commies are evil, or so I'm told.

  2. WFA posted himself with all 10 copies of WOF that sold

    :rofl-lol:

Actually, I think WFA only bought 4.

That must be the only 4 copies WOF selled ever. I heard it was such a disappointment that Slash bought all 4 copies back to bury them in his backyard.

Wasn't there some guy here who posted a picture of himself with like 50 copies of CD?

WFA posted himself with all 10 copies of WOF that sold, but I don't remember anybody doing it with CD. Doesn't mean it didn't happen though, 2008 was way too many beers ago to trust my memory.

    Found the picture of him.

    No wonder CD sold 250,000,000.

  4. Not to distract from what was obviously a murder, but is US police so much worse than police in other countries with similar large population? Not that it would in any shape or form lessen the seriousness of US police violence, but does anyone know how US police fares compares to others?

And, in the unlikely chance that US police isn't worse than others, that every country struggle wth approximately the same frequency of police violence, then might this ungoing discussion in the US be settled by just accepting that some murders will inevitably happen if you arm some peole and set them to boss others? I am completely playing devil's adocate here by the way, or devil's patent attorney which in my opinion is a much more fitting term.

The US police have killed far more Americans than ISIS. In the last year they have beaten a homeless mentally ill man to death while he begged for his life and pleaded for his daddy to come help him because they were killing him. They have broke into a place place and threw a flash grenade into a crib which blew half of the baby occupying it's face off. It lived but they refuse to help with medical bills. The broke into the wrong house and killed a sleeping 8 year old girl by shooting her while she slept. They killed a 12 year old boy for playing with a toy gun that looked nothing like a real gun. The video shows them drive up, jump out and shoot him with no sort of warning. They killed an unarmed16 year old girl who went to the police station for help and became irate when they wouldn't help her. They broke into a house and executed a man that was laying on the floor because a crackhead falsely claimed that he was buying drugs from him. They executed a mentally handicapped man who walked out of his house with a screwdriver because he became confused when they started screaming at him to drop it. This is the very tip of the iceberg but I'm at work right now. I'll give you many more examples of what these morons are doing later, if you wish.
  5. Honest question, why would any sane person want to sift through hours of video and magazine interviews looking for Slash bashing Axl when they can just take Slash's word that he did it? I mean, it's quite possible (and probable) that he was just lying to make himself look cool again; but it's much less time consuming to humor him. That's my only thought on the subject though because I know that no matter what either of them said that I'm much better at bashing both of them, so it doesn't matter to me and I'm not trying to argue one way or the other. Just curious.

  6. Not sure what is going on with W1zzard's test bench there because many users on the forums are reporting AMD advantages with roughly the same margins, which is why I said the difference wasn't incredible. Maybe it's a margin of error sort of thing. I can definitely see where heat would be a problem in a smaller case though. If the asynchronous shaders pan out like they're supposed to that would be a great advantage for AMD, but we'll have to wait for release to be sure. How soon are you buying the card? I ask because AMD is releasing the 300 series in the next few months and if they turn out like the leaks suggest they are going to give Nvidia a ball kicking like they haven't received in quite some time. The thermals should be better in that series too.

  7. The more I think about it, I think I'm going to go with a GTX 970 (MSI, or EVGA probably) instead of a 290X.... I've been with AMD for GFX for my last two computers, feeling a switch.

Not to sound like a fanboy (that I totally am) and not to judge you by your choices (which I totally will) but the 290x is simply a superior card between those two cards. It actually has the amount of vram it advertises to run better at higher resolution and it is fully compliant with DX12, which the 970 is not. Do what you wish though, I won't fault you (lies).

Hm, I was told that Nvidia's tech was a step ahead of AMD's - don't remember the person's argument, but they had a degree in Comp. Eng.. Regardless, I won't just purchase based on a feeling or whim, I will be doing [partially informed] research.

The 290x is an older card that is 100% compliant with all DX12 features, which Nvidia somehow lacked the foresight to include in any card it has released or announced so far (probably to milk customers for a new card when Windows 10 releases). While running DX11 At 4k resolution the 290x goes head to head with the 980 and while the gap isn't incredible, they are both ahead of the 970. DX 12's support of asynchronous shaders is where things could get interesting though because only AMD cards support that feature at this time and it is rumoured that that could lead to a 40% increase in performance on its own, which would put a 2 and a half year old AMD card over anything Nvidia has released with the possible exception of the $1000+ TitanX, and those would be in close competition. The 970 does have the 290x beat in power consumption though if roughly $10 a year off your electricity bill is a determining factor for you. I would compliment your decision to look into it for yourself though, that's the best way to make the decision that is right for you.

  9. Axl's melodies are so powerful that I think Slash would recognize some of those songs if he heard them again in that form. There is chemistry between Axl and Slash musically that if they were to work together again, it could be just as good as it once was. However its not just those 2 that made it work. It was a mix of all of them and even some of the people that were around them at that time that had an influence with what was going on at the time. One example would be someone like Barbi just hanging around with Axl could make a difference on the end result. Also keep in mind a lot of what was written for lyrics had a lot to do with what was going on in their lives at the time. Things are a lot different now in their daily routine.

On a somewhat related note, how often do you listen to Chinese Democracy? And the older material?
  10. I don't necessarily agree with that because there are millions of Americans that have guns and aren't out there shooting people. I am fully for having to pass an IQ test before being able to handle a gun though, because it seems to me that low IQ meatheads can't control themselves once they get their hands on one.

Ummmm....... I think statistics say otherwise. Gun related deaths per capita in America via citizens and cops alike, obscenely out number similar related deaths in other "western" countries. In many countries combined in fact. There's gotta be something to that right?

I agree 100% though people should ahve to pass not only an IQ test but a have a mental assesment done by a professional before qualfying to own a gun. I'd like to know how rigerous the training is for the police officers who carry guns is. Like is it an afternoon of training and that's it or what?

The higher gun death statistics correlate nicely with the lower average intelligence of Americans too though. I know that in some areas of the country that no training or education (not even a high school diploma) is required to become a cop so I wouldn't imagine the training would be too rigorous anywhere in the country.

  12. Not at all. In fact, they have a policy of hiring low IQ applicants because they are less likely to question orders. Canada might not be perfect, but we could definitely learn a lot from you guys down here.

I feel kinda bad saying it, but without question the dumbest people I come across are policeman and recent military personnel.

Placing intelligence limits on their subservient assholes has worked out great for the people in power because they have their army of mindless drones to threaten, bully, kill and steal what little money has been left to the general population, but it hasn't worked out well for us at all. This system isn't sustainable though and things are going to get much worse before they get better. I know I probably sound like the idiot on the corner preaching about the return of jebus, but how far can they push before we push back? Can't be too much farther.
