  1. The band never broke up though. As a member left a new member replaced them. There was no point when there was no band at all.

That's the thing that bugs me about people saying Axl shouldn't have the GnR name.... There was never a point when everyone left at once. They all left gradually and got replaced. At what point should Axl have said "We're done". People say when Slash left, but I don't think Slash was a big influence of GnR.... I think Izzy was the most influential member besides Axl, would you rather GnR have broken up in 1991?

I always viewed GnR as Axl's band... Even before the new band. Axl started the band, Axl was the one that wrote most the songs, and Axl was the bad guy who made GnR dangerous.

Well of course you would, because thats what Axl fans think. Sorry, but that was never true. Axl was not the singular one that made GNR dangerous. They were all dangerous in their own way. Slash and Duff showing up drunk to the AMA awards and cursing on live television being one example that springs to mind. And the only reason everyone left gradually until Axl was the only one was because Axl was a dictator that made it impossible to be part of a band. Everyone left Guns N Roses, thus the band broke up, and became the Axl Rose band.

 Getting drunk and swearing like an asshat is dangerous now? I must be one of the most dangerous people on the planet.

  2. Not going to lie, I laughed my ass off reading this thread. Best decision I ever made.

I think Nobody puts baby in a corner takes the (cup) cake.

Haven't figured out what that's the word filter for so it must not be a word I use. Figured out Super Awesome right away though. Go figure.

  3. for whoever asked if blading is making a comeback, check this out:

    Ya48ak4.gif

appears the ref hands something to Reigns.. most likely a blade, to hand to Lesnar later

That's quite the conspiracy. Wouldn't it make much more sense for the ref to you know, hand it to Lesnar himself?

  4. Never understood threads like this. Who the hell cares if somebody doesn't like Axl and what would make them think they would change someone else's opinion anyway? That's one thing I have to give credit to the Slash fans for. Even though he's out there sucking it up way worse than any member of Guns ever has and he's failing miserably at everything he attempts to accomplish, they stick to their section and fully realize that the real world will never care about what he does, so they don't bother pushing him on other people. I'm definitely not one to compliment Slash fans on anything, but credit where it's due.

  5. Cena/Rusev wasn't all bad. We got a springboard stunner from Cena.317.gif

Undertaker's last match. Imagine an Undertaker with long Greg hair. How freaky would that be? He gets pummeled the entire match, but keeps sitting up. At the end of the match, he chokeslams his opponent through the ring. He stands triumphant, as a big cloud of smoke comes pouring out of the massive crater, looking down into the pit. Then, as he crawls down into it, the screams of all of his opponents are heard throughout the arena.

I'm 33 years old, and I still mark out for Taker's entrance :)

Overall I think I enjoyed this year's Mania more than last year, but damn Cena/Rusev was terrible!

Yeah, I really enjoyed it! you can criticize, and I've done so in the past. But, it's wrestling. :) I think the cena/rusev was a great build on a cheesy old school storyline. The entrance by Rusev had me convinced he was the reincarnation of Drago. We'll be seeing the image of him on a tank for quite sometime. And, it was for the U.S. title!! The Undertaker looked slow, but did a good job. Wyatt looked sloppy. But, it was a cool storyline:) The Mizdow breakup was right up there with a "Dream team"-like break up, and a great battle royal in general. The Authority/Rock exchange was great. The world title match was booked perfectly! It made everyone look good, their characters all were all pumped up a notch. It was everything I could have wanted and more from a WrestleMania!

Yeah that stunner was a cool move, but LOL at Cole banging on about the "Evolution of Cena" one new move in 20 years! Why that's almost as prolifica as Axl Rose! Now we can say 6 moves of doom! :D

I just thought the match was quite flat, I also find it quite hard to get excited for SuperCena :)

Although I suppose him holding the US title does give some prestige to that title. Same with Bryan and the IC belt, loved seeing him celebrate with the former IC champions, hopefully they give that belt the respect it deserves moving forward (slim chance I know)

Yeah, I was surprised about the Sting Match. Wasn't it great when he broke triple he's bat? I thought they told a good story.

I wasn't so surprised, his match with Bully at Slammiversary 11 was a good match and he has had over a year off to get himself into non-Tshirt wearing shape :)

I didn't have a problem with the finish and given that they had made it all about WWE vs WCW (that was a silly decision but that is a different debate) I think that there was no way Sting & NWO were going over Triple H & DX

It was good to see NWO put aside their rivalry with Sting and come (very very slowly) to his rescue :)

Also another thing I was thinking. WWE has pretty much made finishing moves all but obsolete. It used to be once the finishing move was hit that was it or the odd time it took two. Now you know a finishing move is just like any other clothesline unless they manage to hit it 17 times haha.

Yeah kicking out of finishers is the new thing in wrestling. It almost feels weird now when someone gets pinned after only one finisher!

How many F5s did Reigns kick out of? I counted about 4? It only took 3 of them to finish Undertaker last year!

Speaking of Reigns, you know it is bad when the crowd is chanting for the heel to kill the babyface, all of his hope spots were met with a chorus of boos! What are they waiting for to turn him heel?

i dont think its out of the realm of possibility that rousey one day comes to the wwe. i think atari hits the nail on the head when it comes to the belt. the diva championship is just awful and just continues to hurt the credibility of womens wrestling in the wwe.

Complete OT but I didn't realise that Alundra Blayze was such a MILF!! I was surprised to see her in the HOF, I thought she still had massive beef with Vince over his botched attempt at creating a women's division back in the 90s?

To be fair, Lesnar hit at least two F5s and didn't even bother trying to pin Reigns. He hit him with one 30 seconds in and just looked at him.

Sometimes you just have to look at it.
  6. If you have to lose, who better to lose to than Lesnar? Vince was never going to let him keep the streak so he might as well lose to the most legitimate wrestler there is.

That was my thinking at the time, in kayfabe it made Lesnar look like a beast. An aura which he has carried intact since. No amount of Taker's mindgames, voodoo or supernatural BS made any difference. And when you look back, it was Taker that asked for the match. But he got eaten alive. If anyone's gonna carry that belt for long term, it would be the guy that did that to Undertaker. Taking it from Cena was no issue.

That loss cost Vince and the wrestling business as a whole much more than it cost Taker. The streak could have sold Wrestlemania by itself and they no longer have it to fall back on. There is no shame in losing to Lesnar no matter how real or fake a fight is, so it was self-inflicted stupidity on Vince's part if anything.

They probably saw the end of the journey for Taker coming pretty soon. And that beyond the Lesnar match, the streak had maybe 2 more Manias left.

Yeah, but if Taker is just going to show up at Mania and pull a standard Taker match and leave, they could have hauled his old ass out for a few more at least. Ah well, it's over and Lesnar (especially due to Heyman) has been the best thing about wrestling since IMHO, so it hasn't been a total loss.

  8. OK I know this has probably been said a half million times since its happened but

WHY on earth did Taker agree to be defeated at Wrestlemania!??!

  9. I know Axl was not happy with Slash working with Michael for that reason but there is a lot more to why Axl won't work with Slash than the fact the Slash worked with Michael Jackson. I do belive that Slash and Doug were tight at one point and that they did take care of the things it took to keep the band running but at some point I think Doug was afraid of getting fired by Axl so he started do what Axl wanted done and thats when things started to fall apart between Doug and Slash.

Its been discussed in that thread at the main board the accuracy of dates of these events. How did Axl and Doug know in 1991 about Michael Jackson's alleged pedophilia if the first legal accusations appeared in 1993? Can you clarify this, Marc?

Axl Rose is 'the hungry time traveler' and you question his knowledge of future events?

  10. I see my posts were deleted after mags completely on topic post so I'll assume that you're talking to me. Sorry for not knowing that this is the only thread on the forum that doesn't allow any off topic discussion, but if you think it's going to hurt my feelings in the least if you ban me, you can kiss my ass. I'll tell you the exact same thing I told the admin of a different forum that won't be mentioned. It is your forum and if you don't want me around it's more than fine with me. There are other places I can go. I'll respect your decision and I won't be pathetic enough to ban dodge or create another account. Don't misunderstand me, I do like it here, but I won't be changing for anybody. Ever.
