  1. If they finish the tour with no album, I quit.

They'll go back in the studio, mess around and then who knows.

If after the leaks, tours, etc, this doesnt come out, all bets are off.

  2. Man its not like Halifax is a small gig, i mean theres gonna be 11,000-12,000 people there. If it was an outdoor concert im possitive you could pull in 20,000-30,000. The place is gonna be roudy as fuck, ive been to many areans and stadiums across canada man, not too many place compare to a packed metro center. The really question is where they gonna have the after party, its gonna be nuts downtown.

I have a connection in Halifax...

I have it narrowed to three, probably two, possible locations for the bar if its going to be at a bar.

If not, well, I have no idea, I just know the places other big acts have gone after the shows to party.

  3. So what's the deal? The Trailer Park Boys are having a party after the concert and GNR will be there?? That's it??

Has anyone actually ended up at a party like that, either by plan or by accident? Like would it be possible for me to go to a bar and have it just happen to be the one they're having the party at?

  4. If I'm traveling out of town just to see a bad, I'd like them to actually show up.

It's not a problem for me, but if I have to get up early to work, I'd like them to start playing at a reasonable time.

If I'm spending money to go to a concert and putting up with the possibility of them not showing up and having to wait an hour or longer for them to go on, I'd like if they play a long set, as long as everywhere else they play at least.

This isn't GNR from the early 90's, some wild, out of control rock band that can't be predicted...He's like 40 now pulling the same shit he was pulling when he was 28. Going on late now and then? Fine. Cancelling shows because it can't be avoided? Alright....but it's bullshit to do things like this just for the sake of doing it.

  5. how can it seriously take 13 years to make a 13 track album? maybe if it was some epic double album, but it's going to be 13 tracks? other bands can rip that out in two years, tops. i know he had to replace the whole band, etc, etc, but 13 years? especially when these songs were already in existance in 2001?

and i wouldn't expect any surprises. if it comes out, and at this point who knows when or if it's going to, it'll likely be what it is, a simple album. it'll probably be great, and i'm sure i'm going to love it, but he'll put it won't seem like something that was 13 years in the making. that's if it even comes out, because at this point it's becoming a running joke.

  6. I think GNR could be a touring act and nothing else if they wanted to. There's always going to be old school GNR fans and new fans that get into them somehow, so they'll always be an audience for them. There's always going to be people who want to see a rock legend play Welcome to the Jungle, just for the experience of seeing it. A lot of people go to see GNR because it's a band they used to like, and a lot of people don't actually believe Chinese Democracy is comming out anyway.

If GNR want to be a real band now, and be a part of music today, they need to release the album. Going on tour every couple of years to play old classics is fine and dandy, but they need to release new music in 2006 if they want to be a relivant band in 2006.

It all depends on what Axl really wants out of GNR now. As fans who follow the band still and know there's supposed to be a new album, of course we want to hear it, but if Axl wanted to just be a touring band, he could do that to. There's a lot of GNR fans that just don't keep up to date on what he's doing or if there's going to be a new album, but if given the chance to see them play live and hear old favorites, they'll go.

  7. This might be a stupid question...

but is his hair real or not? a lot of people make comments about it being glued on, and that he's bald, etc...

But he had hair in 2002, and it looked pretty good. Are the braids his own hair, and if not, where did his go?

  8. A friend of mine in Edmonton told me HMV had a sign in the store saying Nov 14 was the date. I have no idea if that's true, and he hasn't been able to get me a picture, but he said people in the store said it would be "in store" on the 14th.

Take it for what it's worth, I have no idea if that's true or not.

  9. I don't really think Trent would care. With Teeth did well, he had some top singles off it, and right now he's busy producing and making his own albums, I just don't think his ex-guitarist having a top song is going to matter to him. Besides, I'm sure Trent knows that GNR is not like NIN in that it's a "band" but it's really the creative vision of one person right now. Robin probably just plays what he's told the way he did in NIN.

I don't think there was any real falling out with Trent/Robin. When Trent got sober and returned to music, he just wanted a new start so he put together a new band. He's made some comments about Robin getting paid to sit around and do nothing by GNR but that's about it.

  10. I don't know if I'd want them to add any more new songs to the set list. For an album that's supposed to be 13 or so songs, we've already heard 7 of them through live performances or demos. As it is, whenever the album does come out, I'll have waited over 10 years to hear probably 4 completely new songs I haven't heard before that day.

you've seen the song list for CD??

Well you'd think Chinese Democracy, The Blues, Madagascar, I.R.S, Better, T.W.A.T and Catcher in the Rye are all going to be on there. I like all of those songs, and would love to hear recorded versions of them, but that leaves only four other songs on the album, if Axl's comment about it being a 13 song record is true. Maybe they'll drop some of the songs they've played lately, but I don't see why they'd be playing/promoting new songs that won't make the album.

  11. My concern is that there hasn't been a single released, there's been no official announcement, and there's been no promotion aside from a tour and "it'll be out this year" quotes from interviews.

I just can't see them announcing at the end of November that, oh, by the way, Chinese Democracy is comming out in three weeks, go get it.

There's been no promotion, no true confirmation that it was actually comming out, nothing. Yea, there's the tour, but that could be cancelled tomorrow for all we know.

It's either not comming out anytime soon, or it'll be the worst promoted album release of a big name band ever. Not even a single yet?

  12. It's for the Halifax show. I've been to concerts there before, but the floor always had actual seats so you couldn't sneak down there anyway.

I'm trying the gnr site to get tickets, but I keep getting errors. Does that mean they're sold out or something? Do floor seats really go that fast?

  13. This is the first time i've posted here, so if this is in the wrong place, sorry.

    Anyway...

Is it at all possible to sneak onto the floor at these GNR shows? Or is security tight? I ask because I got stuck with upperbowl tickets, but I really want to get down to the floor and don't want to pay $400 on ebay to do it.

  14. Yea, Axl's looking much better lately. I didn't like his 2001/2002 looks very much, with the dragon shirts and sports jerseys. The return of his facial hair is nice to see to.
