  1. which festival is closer to manchester? (just checked they are both far away :( ) Which will be the better festival/more forum members?

Leeds would be by far the best one to go to if you're starting from Manchester, just head across the M62.

I was at Leeds 2002 and it was an awesome atmosphere. Never been to Reading so can't really say which is better. I know Sunday is the BIG night, so maybe there's more chance of a longer setlist on Sunday at Leeds, but you never know with GN'R it's all about what happens on the night. But generally the last night is the most mental, so would be where I'd go if I had the choice.

    LP

Leeds it is. Tickets on sale yet? From aus so don't get all the uk updates.

  2. How many times do I have to say this, they do not play to please the fan behind the computer, they play to please the crowd and judging from what people, who attended the show (key part there), have been saying, the band are doing just that.

Cant wait to see some pics and videos :D

Hate to compare but, here a a couple of other shows I attended:

VR Air Canada Center: 15 songs YUP

    Metallica Skydome: 16 songs YUP

VR Copps Colisium: 16 songs YUP

I could post many many more shows, those were random from what I can see of my tickets on my wall from where I sit

I paid for those shows, did anyone hear me screaming shitty setlists?? No, why I was entertained, and that is why you buy a ticket

People expect/want Pearl Jam type shows out of Axl N' Co. They set the bar really high at the start of the tour with the 3 hour plus shows. When you look at tonight's setlist for example: They only played 3 songs that they weren't playing back in 06/07. Of course people who follow these shows online are going to bitch. They follow these shows online in anticipation of some momentous setlist, and when it doesn't happen, they are left disappointed and feeling like they've wasted their time; which they have! If they were actually at the show though they would have had a great time.

Fuck there are a lot of bitch's on here (not the people I'm quoting :tongue2: )

I have been to a fucking shitload of concerts, only GNR and a couple other bands stand out from the rest. How many bands these days still use pyro or other stage props like that? Only a few. I'm not sure some people on here know how much work actually goes into organizing/ setting up concerts like these. With the exeption of Pearl Jam (God bless them  ) a 17 song set list is a solid concert and a lot of the time GNR goes that extra length and plays a few more than that. There are a few people on here who just don't know a good rock concert when they see one.

  3. The originals of that shirt (the rare as hell ones) on the back it says "Guns N' Roses were here" and it has the picture of the girl that got raped on the original banned AFD cover...these could only be purchased on the original AFD tour and I see 1 or 2 on ebay every couple months at about 200$-350$ a piece..

The REPRINTS of the shirt, are exactly the same, except there is just "Guns N' Roses were here" on the back, and NO picture of the girl..these shirts can be found on ebay for 10-20$

Correction. I have the reprint and i also have the raped girl on the back along with the tour dates of that tour.

  4. That was fn wicked! That made my night and I can go to sleep in peace. I just came back from taking my wife. I repeat, (TAKING MY WIFE) to a Taylor Swift concert. Things you do when your married. Great post!

how was the show you went to?

Can we stay on topic. We are talking about Tommy's new video.

Very cool vid. I have never heard Dizzy sing, I like his voice.

  5. Off the top of my head in order of the year I saw them starting in '97:

    Aerosmith

    Marilyn Manson (with Monster Magnet)

    The Charlie Daniels Band

    NIN (with A Perfect Circle)

    Tool

Vans Warped Tour '02 (the only band I remember is The Mighty Mighty Bosstones; almost passed out from the heat)

    Queens of the Stone Age

Red Hot Chili Peppers (with Snoop Dogg)

    The White Stripes

Queens of the Stone Age (MTV shoot)

    Prince

    Blink 182 (with Cypress Hill)

    The Darkness (with The Wildhearts)

    Shania Twain

    VR

NIN (with Queens of the Stone Age)

    Wolfmother

    Alice in Chains

GNR (with Baz and Papa Roach)

Red Hot Chili Peppers (with Gnarls Barkley)

    NIN

    The Time

I'm hoping you were taken against your will. Otherwise you have been very blessed in the gigging circuit.

  6. I have no desire to see this band cover other people's music. I'd rather them play CD material much in the same way GNR only played AFD on their first tour in the late 80's. They have their own record and unique songs now and imo, they need to tour them rather then cashing in on other people's music.

    This

So you two only want a 14 song setlist?

  7. GNR Melbourne 2006 (this was my first return to concert attendance (bows) - thank you Axl)

    Just missed: Offspring

surely you mean you saw them in 07 maxx?

I wish I had seen the killers, each time they come out I have somewhere else to be and you didn't miss the offspring tour last year if thats the tour you are referring to. They cancelled!

  8. Mumford & Sons

Some of the dudes in here that catalogue all the gigs they go to seem pretty weird to me.
