A couple more from GunsofTruth. Now I'm convinced it's educated guesses and that s/he's a member of this board...
how realistic is a reissue of Chinese with correct booklet and possibly extra tracks?
At this point, it's not going to happen
CD reissue was almost a reality. Would have had bonus tracks & possibly DVD mini doc. It would have been a 'US Tour Edition'
Any plans for RIR warm up shows? Vegas? NYC?
No chance of formal US dates until the Azoff dispute is settled. If it happened it would be surprise gigs like Rose Club.
how reliable are you?
I can only be as reliable as the info I have. In the GNR world info changes frequently. But I do tell the truth as I hear it.
Of all the songs from "Chinese Democracy" which is the oldest? Slash and Duff took part in one of them?
Definitely none of them date back to Slash. Duff, maybe the germ of an idea evolved into something, but I don't think so.
any chance the new album is a double with the other 30 songs? USA tour?
Probably no US tour this year sadly. Double album has been discussed, but no solid plans...
... I would however say there's a very good chance you'll hear SOME new GNR this year, but it may not be in the form of an album
There is no 'inside info' right now. I would suggest not reading too much into any of this.

First of all, we would like to apologise for not being able to communicate to you guys earlier. An unfortunate set of circumstances caught us out, involving most of us being extremely busy and Eric for a period having limited access to internet while in vacation in Cuba (MYGNR is blocked there, to make things more difficult).
Unfortunately, this period coincided with the delivery of fairly threatening letter delivered to Eric from Guns’ legal team that, in essence, demanded that we remove every and all topics relating to MSL and stolen data files “immediately”. Although we have responded to them, stressing that we do not believe that we have acted illegally in allowing members to hold discussions about the files, rather than face potential legal ramifications, we have chosen to respect their wishes that the topics cease to be posted.
As Eric was away, we felt it was inappropriate to reveal this to members until he returned – as the legal issues of the site are his business to handle.
Upon hearing that we were about to receive these letters, Bumblefoot contacted me on Facebook and essentially said that if it was any easier on us (in the wake of the letter), that it was OK for us to remove the threads he’d posted in. For now, we have done just that. We may restore them in the future at some point (we would really like to).
So, again – apologies for not letting you guys know why we suddenly removed all the threads about the incident. We were caught on the back foot and unfortunately didn’t have many options available to us. I hope this will satisfy any further complaints of “censorship” – we were simply acting in what we hoped were the best interests for the preservation of our site.
Thanks
- MYGNRFORUM Mod Team
The 'Mod Team' failed to represent Eric while he was away, therefore serious decisions need to be made.
Eric needs people from different time zones who can make big decisions based on common sense.
Some of the current mod team can fill these roles.
It's not often i'll take offense to something you say Mysteron, but that was uncalled for. For you to criticise the mod team for the way we acted is cheap and unfair. The "serious decisions" that need to be made should happen from within the Guns camp. Sorry, but what kind of band sends a letter like that to one of their fansites?
We've clearly had issues in the past when more than one person makes the "final call" on this forum and others (sladdi and BP too). That is why Eric now makes those decisions alone. To suggest that the mod team are in the position to make decisions that could affect the entire site when Eric is the sole legal owner of it is preposturous.
What we did was monitor the forum in shifts and take shit off members for 2 weeks like this was our fault (instead of publically blaming Axl and the band) - and then you come in here and have the audacity to suggest "serious decisions" need to be made in reference to our team? Good one! I'm not sure if you realised, but this isn't a paying position - I volunteer my time here to cop abuse from members that think we're censoring them in exchange for "party passes".
I did not mean to offend anyone. Please accept my apology.
I just feel that if you had taken an early decision to block and remove any MSL related activity, none of this would have happened.

A good subject; Jeff is a legend.
It would also be interesting to know what has become of other early GN'R users, inc. the official website and the gnr newsgroup. I see Holtz's name at the GN'R bar. It would be interesting to know who-else is floating about.

Been to Dublin many times. It is easy to get glass bottles into the arena.
I do not believe any true Irish people were behind the bottle throwing. It was outsiders flying in on Ryanair, or English folk.

From NewGNR.com
From what I've heard through some of my band contacts, 2011 should be a very cool year for the fans. Axl really wants to get Chinese Democracy's follow-up out there, they'd like to tour the US (unfortunately lawsuits may prevent them), and we may even get that remix CD album bundled with an official DVD release that they're working on.
Also, don't be surprised if you hear a previously unreleased song or 2 played live for the first time. From what I hear, Axl is wanting to test the waters. Keep your fingers crossed that it is either "Forgotten" or Atlas Shrugged". Whatever it is, you can be sure that it will be sweeeeeeeet!
Same guy who posted that on Here Today Gone To Hell back in the beggining of 2007:
To all the haters : I'm sorry for you not sorry for me. You don't know who you can trust now or who to believe.
Remember these words when the album comes out.

That's also the same person who posted the part from Zodiac.
We'll see...
This person has no class. He has obviously had some contact with GN'R years ago, but he has used it to make up nonsense.
Any word on whats happening Mysteron?
Only Axl can say what is happening with GN'R. There is no other information source which is reliable at this time.
You basically sayd there won't be any US tour, DVD, remix CD and unreleased songs being tested live.
I did not say in any way shape or form.
I said anyone could guess that these things could occur in the future based on logic and comments made by band members.

Mysteron - what exactly about it is nonsense? That Axl really wants the followup out, the US tour (which was mentioned by DJ), the DVD, the remix CD (which Brain has publicly spoken of), the unreleased songs being tested live?
You answered your own question. Alot of the information is educated guesses based on known information.

If you are not happy with UYI, blame the record label.
-
Tesla were, and are, a respected band.
I do not believe for a second that they would imply that they wrote Patience.
-
What's the point other than fun playing secret gigs to 100? people when thousands of fans around the world are waiting to see the band in an actual concert? They could play major shows in New York, London, Berlin...film a music video...play on television....do something on YouTube...promote the album...call Buckethead...thousands better things to do than playing to a bunch of fashion people calling it a "secret gig".
Is this not a dumb question? Guns are entertainers, and for a certain amount of money will entertain.
-
The touted UK release date is incorrect
-
Yes, CD will be available on vinyl when it is released.
-
So, in the UK CDs normally come out on Monday; will us Brits be getting Chinese Democracy a day before the States?
SG
Yes
-
I know this is proberly greedy and their are 1000s of fans wanting gnr to play at their city but will gnr tour the uk again because i missed them at MEN as i didnt have any money but now ive got a job but does anyone know if theyll tour again like after the albums out?
2007

My money is on Tuesday, October 24th for the long awaited release of Chinese Democracy!
My money isn't

There's no way that Merck could be doing this bad of a job without doing on purpose, though. The absence of promotion and publicity that we've seen can't be just because he sucks at what he does. They have to planning some kind of sudden big comeback with an immense shock factor. And maybe they're proving to the label that they can sell out shows even without promotion (other than word of mouth). I dunno. I'm sure he isn't getting paid for nothing, though.
There can be no qualified responses here which makes me wonder why this thread is still active
-
I'm pretty sure Mysteron knows more than this guy!
Axl has said what is happening, and as of now nothing has changed.
If people choose to believe a random person in Germany quoting a random person in Turkey, then that is their perogative.
-
Anything Axl has said this year is true (still)
And Guns are away to do an intensive tour of the US that will see out 2006
Everything is positive :krider:
-
This is false
Right now, they are still in NY

This is the Press Release and the photo that goes with it.
Get In The Ring!
Tommy Hilfiger was carried away by his own security people kicking and screaming after attempting to pick a fight with Guns N' Roses main man Axl Rose at The Plumm on Thursday night.
According to The Plumm owner Noel Ashman, Hilfiger who took two swings at Rose, was fortunate that he found Rose in good spirits and a forgiving mood. Ashman said "Axl was a gentleman and had the good sense not to retaliate as he would have done some serious damage to Hilfiger."
Rose, who was at the club to play a surprise acoustic set with his band Guns N' Roses for actress Rosario Dawson's birthday party, filled out a police report and later dedicated the song "You're Crazy" to "My good friend Tommy Hilfiger" during the band's scorching performance, which left the way beyond capacity crowd screaming for more and gasping for air well into the wee hours of the morning. Said birthday girl Dawson of Rose: "They've never played all acoustic, this is history in the making, how much does this fucking man rock?!"
-
Because I have a friend who is a stage manager and might be able to get backstage tix if he knows the promoter
I can assure you it would be a pointless exercise
-
I need to find out who is promoting the June 7th gig, anybody know?
Why do you need to know?

Cool
Remember to keep the method secret until it's over
