I'm sorry, but most of those famous classical writers WROTE music, dimebag and most metal bands write the same style (using scales in very similar mannors) and they play them, most do this WHILE BEING HEAVILY INTOXICATED. Though all those are Heavy Metal bands (or some might say Viking Metal, Blackened Death Metal, Folk Metal, Black Metal, and Thrash Metal) i do like most forms of music (pop, most punk (which is emo too), GLAM/hair (same fucking thing), and contry being the only ones i dont like), but my favorite albums come from heavy metal

I went to a newGN'R show and honnestly I think they don't need 3 players. 2 are enough. I will go with the Fiink/Fortus duet (no disrespect to bbf).

With 2 guitar players, there would be more chemistry between them, it would work as a duet, the sound would be clearer (you would hear clearly each players), there would be less long solos etc...

It doesn't matter. They HAVE 3 guitarists and it sounds great. Apparently Axl feels he needs them for what he's doing so who the fuck are you to say he's wrong? It doesn't matter what you think. It matters how the situation is now? Does it sound good? Yes. So shut the hell up about it.

What can be argued perhaps is the fact I haven't heard a mention of GNR being a 'circus act' this time around in the media, or with the general public. When BH was in the band, it was a laughing stock outside of the hardcore GNR community for the most part. That's a fact. I tried to get my casual GNR fans to like the band or appreciate them, but they couldn't get past the idiot with a KFC bucket on his head on the stage. Call it ignorance or whatever, I have to agree with them. If the man would have only taken off his mask and ditched the whole 'hand-puppet-raised-by-chicken' bit, which is a gimmick taken to the extreme leaving one to question the man's mental state.

Circus Act? Yea, because a guitarist who has cred who yes is a little strang cause GnR to be a freak show. I knew who buckethead was and knew he was good, the whole band looked like a frean show.

Yeah, honestly I think it adds to the sound's depth. You've got the bluesy guy (Finck), the one who kicks ass (Fortus) and then there are the virtue solos by Bumblefoot. I mean, sounds good to me. Why change the combination that works.

Just got off the phone with some dude, he told me that yesterday (11/10/06) that about 25 people were calling in asking about it. Some dj said it over the radio i guess. He said not true, even one of the managers talked to one of the fans. He also said they do not have releases past the 21st in their computer yet so i think that guy is just plainly full of shit. Im still going to call around the time of the concert. He also said that them not advertising seems a little shady also (he said that to me, i never even said anything about that)

Actually, Dizzy and Pittman usually synth in extra guitar. So yeah, it's necessary.

Why? Bumble's more talented than either of them. I think three guitars is fine, no one complains at maiden for a three guitar attack, i think it's effective as each adds their own dynamic to the sound. Guns only needs two guitars but three makes them shine.

I just hate Bumblefoots style, he's one of those mindless freakout shredder types and has no taste or ear for development or anything. I like Finck because he's got soul even though he fucks up sometimes, and Fortus is just a really solid rock gutiarist. I'd say those two guitarists, and get rid of Dizzy and keep Pitman, this band would be a lot better off.

Hmm Bumblefoot's saving grace is the diversity of styles he can play in. Shred isn't mindless, it's the most difficult style of lead guitar to master. People who call it "Mindless" are just jealous because they can't shred so they put it down. Ron's admired by Joe Satriani..... got to count for something.

I can play fast but I wouldn't say I can shred, but I could learn if I want. I just choose not to, because its lame and serves no purpose other than "hey, look what I can do!!!" Its not about how many notes you can play in a short amount of time, its what you're saying with the notes. I couldn't be less jealous of shred guitarists, honestly. In fact I kind of pity them, I feel like they're missing out on what music is about.

Yea, and i can shred and play fast and i can even play with blues influence, and thats the best. More guitar influence, the better you are overall. Yea, BBF shreds a lil to much for gnr, but still knowing how to do that really makes YOU a better guitar player. Im not saying im better or your bad, its just good to know. also, when you shred infront of someone, they get really impressed really fast (girls also )

Well with some of the more "complex" stuff as far as the new material goes , then I think it's good to have 3 players now , and it gives the band a more "full" sound when playing some of the old stuff , It may not be nessecary but it's probably a cool thing to have going on.

more complex? then slash? the only thing that gives it their complex sound is the fact they now use effects in most of their songs now, and with those effects they dont do much. Most of the songs dont need 3 guitars. With 1 keyboard, you really need one guitar, 2 at the most. If it takes 3 guitars to write a song because 2 or 1 cant do the job, then you got something wrong i think personally. Look at dimebag and pantera, all one guitar and yet their shits classic.

First, Kurt Cobian SUCKED at guitar. He probably is one of the worst guitarists that will be remembered for the rest of time. His riffs were 3 strings, his solos werent anything, and he really just all around didnt have much guitar creativity. I have 3 Nirvina cds, Nirvina, Instescticide , and In Utero and really the Greatest hits (nirvina) is the best because the other 2 arent to me that speical. the songs get repetivitive. He's remembered for his lyrics and even his shitty guitar playing.

Second, anyone who knows anything on guitar (that is who plays) knows that Finck really isnt good let alone great. His solo from inland sounded more like sweet child with a phaser effect and some boring tremlo picking that if i knew the effect i could most likly play (after seeing and hearing it a couple times). when i hear slash play i think wow how did he play that. he plays his solos smooth even today. if he hits an extra note he'll play off it most of the time. yes he has gotten sloppy and he was before but remember he was drunk have the time. Try playing guitar high or drunk and see how that works out. sounds good to you but not to the otehrs sometimes.

O and you want some flaws with slash, fine, this is coming from someone who admits to being a slasholite or wutever people call them
