yea people you are forgetting one thing is this, America and the UK-2 different places. i know normally when new memebers join a band, the sound is thrown a little but most of the time stays the same. Like in old GnR, with Matt coming in, and all the guitarists. but right now im listening to the newer stuff, trying to get more into them, i can help but notice they sound nothing like the old gnr at all. this isnt hate, but im trying to figure out to i even like the new sound. they have the talent in all, but like better, the song most people like, i just cant stand the intro, and it sounds as if they're trying to make it more of a metalish sounding band, almost like tool at some points.

does anyone agree, or am i just gonna be hated for this?

Axl Rose will do just fine no matter how many people download it. The record will sell just fine too becuase it´s AXL ROSE (GN´R) releasing a NEW album! Downloading has been around for quite a while now and the record (and movie) companies have been saying what a big threat it is for years now. Still the sales figures don´t show a big change and record stores are still selling both records and movies. The record labels need to re-think their role in this business or they will soon be dead. Trying to fuck the people over again (like they have done with their high prices forever now) with new laws and paying organisations to chase kids (and others) for downloading just shows how fucked up the priorities of modern society are. An economic crime is more important than the violent ones. Cause god forbid the rich don´t get richer!

I´m not saying you should NOT support the bands you like, only the record companies try to define dowloading as something that fucks bands over. I know most of you still buy records and many of you buy merch and go to shows too, so your support is solid even though you download. But downloading should also be concidered like free advertising. I mean how many of you have found new favourite bands thanks to the infinite music treasure chest that we have thanks to uploading/downloading?

Guns N' Roses Renunion Rumors Weren't Far From Truth

Despite Slash recently claiming that he is at a loss as to where the Guns N' Roses reunion rumors are coming from, it seems that they continue to slowly gain momentum.

As was reported a little while back there was considerable talk suggesting that the so called 'classic' GNR lineup was to play last months' Download Festival in the UK, which of course, didn't happen.

The current incarnation of the band, however, did play, and after battling through some sound issues were joined onstage by original Gun Izzy Stradlin for ripping renditions of "Think About You, Smoke on the Water/Patience, Nightrain, Used to Love Her, and, of course, Paradise City. Izzy's appearance wasn't a great surprise as the guitarist did join the band on stage for their comeback shows at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York in May, but he has continued to consistently appear throughout this leg of the European tour, a site that must surely warm the hearts of the still considerable GNR faithful.

However, according to Classic Rock magazine, via a GNR insider, recent attempts were indeed made by Axl Rose to reform the original band for shows at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, and then again for the Download Festival at Donnington Park. The magazine also reported that both were allegedly to be filmed and released on DVD with an accompanying live album to mark the 20th anniversary of the band forming. As the story goes, all parties were interested until the fine print of the contracts were examined. Apparently, despite the shows and the potential earning power of the subsequent CD/DVD sales, in agreeing to the terms and conditions, each member then agrees that all rights to the entire Guns N' Roses back catalogue would henceforth transfer to Axl.

Needless to stay, negotiations stalled, but rumors persist that the lads will play the Hammersmith in the English summer and that there will be a live album preceding the eventual release of Chinese Democracy.

ok, to the origanal poster, your a dumbass if you honestly believe it took 10 years to make contraband or for them to release a cd and heres why:

Axl started writing the songs and start making the music for CD when slash left the band. Slash was gone for a good year when matt and duff left. and they never got together and said lets make a band. they went their ways and relized hey lets make a band. it didnt take long for them to start from the ground up, they needed to work with a new guitarist and singer not to mention slash matt n duff had to learn some STP tunes along with scott n dave needing to learn some gnr. and they did this all in a year? axl has been making this masterpeice for 10 years. look at music in the last 10 years. sure it may have been a hit back in the 90s but come on, what bands can you name that are airing on MTV or FUSE or wutever that have true talent? none. GnR (old n new) have talent but talent dont matter. Axl should have released when talent mattered. wow i rambled on.

and i think the main reason the solo projects didnt go as well is because they werent hyped up they were just there. they werent like advertised tht well. also they seem more about the music. they want to play, they dont care as much. they want to live for the music.

o and axls three guitar shit isnt new its been done. didnt skynard use 3 guitars? he wont admit to it but he needs them for slashs parts cuase slash was indeed good.
