dudes i really hate to say this but from 2002, things really havent changed much in my eyes. im really trying my hardest to like them so i put them on (nugnr) and i really cant get into it. i hate to say it, axls getting older, his voice isnt as good, and the new music is for either a past generation or a future one (hopefully more for the future) isnt GnR.
yes i know its a new band and everything, but theres not one person who cant argue gnr is not JUST axl, or slash, or duff, or matt, or anyone from the old lineups. songs like welcome to the jungle, sweet child o mine, dont cry, november rain, estranged, get in the ring, dont damn me, and others are GUNS N ROSES.
think about this: Guns come out with Chinese Democracy, they do the US leg of the tour, nothing bad happens, then what? the new sound is so different from the old sound, so they come out with another cd similar but different to Chinese Democracy thats even more different to old Guns? lets say the next cd even comes out, and another tour, but knowing axl something happens, someone leaves and the bands disasembles for good. now we have this new GnR with 2 cds, old gnr with 4, couple stray songs, live cd, live dvds, and a punk cover cd. not a bad run, but the new gnr may be remembered more? do u want GnR to die with kids years from now saying, " oh yea, didnt that band have 3 guitarists, something fink, something fortus and some bumblefoot dude?"? me i dont.
so as i reflect on this whole GnR 2000, i really am sad. i dont want gnr to die out as some expermantle hard rock band, but more of an 80s to hard for hair metal to soft for thrash/heavy metal band (didnt know what to call it).
this wasnt some random bash either. with old gnr today, there wouldnt be much difference, just different sound but axl would still sound like shit, and VR (x gnr members only) would be getting old too.

i thought it was funny when he shock his hand he like ducked or sumthing, anyone else notice it? yea that rat bastard didnt give us a date yet but o well, now at least hes back in the public and hopefully the demand will go back up for gnr. o n the scream sounding good i was surprised
-
dude i still say it was a waste, but im just sick of remours i want a chicago date n CD
-
k thanks i didnt hear bout this n was like wtf guess the loop is just fuckin late
-
my mom said she heard on 97.9 (loop, in chicago) tht axl didnt show up at a show and someone else had to sing for him, anyone got details on this?
-
ill be pist but i wont be mad for long, i dont even expect this gnr to last. ill always love old gnr and nothing can change that and im still happy with that music, but hearing a cd from this gnr wouldnt be bad
-
looks like a hit at slash or maybe he relizes that slash is much better so he wants to be like him
-
its funny alot of you are in massive denial, really. yea here we will have a lot of support but when the cd hits stores and people bad mouth it and it really isnt that good, are you gonna still sit there and defend it when people say it sucks. if you cant get a bunch of kids/fags on the net to say 'hey this isnt bad' on ebaumsworld then how are you gonna be able to get others to take it seriously? im just saying if the cd is gonna suck, im not saying it does...yet, but we will see in 2 years when it hits...jk
-
i think all of this gnr should get in the fuckin stuido n finish the fuckin album!
-
more disappointed then anything, axl promised somehting that would blow everyones minds but with the way these new songs are sounding its like "ok i guess"
-
I WANNA ROCK ANDDD ROLLLLLLLLLLL ALL NIGHT........AND PARTY EVERYDAY!

you people say yea he does bring up some good points, but i don't see one. all this man was doing is bashing hard rock/metal. all this guy is is a pussy who can't take some metal. he also said metallica helped destroy rock, but that band paved the way for metal, gnr saved rock temperoraly (sp) from the hair metal bands. listen to GnR and listen to niravana, they sound NOTHING alike, which helps putting bands in the same genre. why dont we just say the misfits were hair metal because that comparsing is the same. not to mention this guy really didnt do any research it sounds like. he only mentioned bands that were in the mainstream. Slayer has lyrics about Nazis and Satan, very popular in the 80s. Also, Black Sabbath were singing about Satan, hell, drugs, nothing pleasent at all, but not even a single mention. this artcle was a waste of time. and to this guy
-
ive learned nothing at all. congrats axl, you completed a tour, wow, who'd ever think that a band should get congratulated for completing a tour? ok, yea he played a couple new songs and alot of the old songs everyone loved. I don't know about you guys, but he did jack shit for me, i live in the United States, so a tour half way across the world does jack shit. the bootlegs weren't great, sure i saw some pictures, but in the past couple monthes, he STILL hasnt givin his fans something to look foward too. shit we dont even know dates for the american leg of his tour, we dont know anything about his GREAT Chiense Democracy. soo i guess i learned that axl hasnt changed much in the past couple years.

ill never picture the new band play old gnr man i cant even try to

im starting to laugh at some of you. so some of you are saying that the reason gnr died for awhile was slash wanted to take control of the band???? you'r FUCKING crazy. do we forget that maybe the reason they weren't as good was because grunge started and took over music? nirvana was huge and people prob converted, UYI did take some time. plus if you remember, didnt axl basicly sell out? WTF, when you have to have a aircraft carier in a video with dolophins, i think thats the start of sell out. plus think about the sound gnr would have had if axl had most input. remember my world???? have i missed somehting and that song became good because i had to turn it off when i heard it. and of course not, UYI sucks because it has great guitar work on, has great songs on it, yea total waste of time. lets see, the 2 big flops on that cd, my world and so fine. but you get November Rain and Estranged. i personally dont like those songs but most seem to remember them. BUT NOOOOOOOOOOO slash KILLED that cd, right?
o and um im pretty sure Fall to Pieces isnt that bad of a ballad, the guitar work is great, but of course its Velvet Revolver so THEY SUCK!!!!
btw my spelling sucks sorry if i fucked up some words
-
postive-THEY SHOWED UP FOR ALL THEIR SHOWS!!!
-
if axl has more then 2 ballads on CD then im not even gonna bother. GnR+ballads=GLAM METAL of TODAY!!! maybe axl might wanna plug the AFD formula bak in and have basicly all the songs fast
-
ill kill axl if CD is all ballads
-
no prob yea that back in black should be but theres a couple other cds that should be o well

just got the new guitar world mag and i havent really had time to read it yet but it has the 100 greatest guitar albums. so read through that, fliped to 100 and went down. and i have to admit i was a little surprised. APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION GOT NUMBER 2! it beat jimi's are you experienced, Led Zep IV got number one but no argument here. i cant find the list right now on the net.
