Wait, is this a post without the words "1999" and "Axl hasn't recorded new vocals lately"!? Pele, keep it up man, I knew you could do it
Yeah but is he now gonna spend the next year telling us he doesn’t like IRS? His needle does tend to get stuck on the record…

Like I've wrote in 2007 when I've post the "Sorry" lyrics: believe me when you see it.
I can hear some bits of info.
Tidbits:
- HardSkool more likely intended to close the new album.
- Slash is giving an interview for Rolling Stone Maganize (FR ed).
- 2022 tour gets a new name.
You read it here first!

Here is a short review of each song:
ROLL ON 2 U: Nice rnr track, think of "Outta Get Me" but without all that energy and magic. Nice.
FEELIN' IT: Seems like a good rnr single. Finally, a riff. Superb. Gem of the album. Powerful sound (finally!!). Possible brand new single; first brand new unheared song since 2008.
CASINO NIGHT ZONE: First piano driven song of the album. Rapping Axl returns for a few seconds. Maybe, the first GNR song ever to have a "techno" echo. Very short song but my personal fav.
ELVIS: Think of a "Sorry" lil brother. Nice, angry vocals. Darkest song of the album and that cellos are LOUD for a little moment. 7/10 if you ask me.
OMG: Heaviest song of the album. Almost like screamo Rose on steroids. Buckethead guitar in the background???? Powerful.
ATLAS: Filler. Not as happy as "Casino Night Zone" and not even in the league of "Catcher In The Rye". Interesting intro. 5/10 if you ask me. The Sean Beaven mix was much better.
7: Yes. Yes. YES. This is the quality I was waiting for! EPIC SONG. 10/10. Think of a mix between "Circus Maximus", "D Tune", "Curly Shuffle" and "Poison Heart". I MEAN, FREAKIN' REALLY. AXL, WHAT WAS YOU THINKING WHILE YOU DISCARDED THIS SONG FOR "CHINESE DEMOCRACY"?! WHY YOU PUT "SCRAPED" INSTEAD?! Oh, you need serious help, Axl Rose. Tears on my eyes. Really.
ABSURD!: Second filler. Released as a single. I prefer the 1999 vers.
EL HERMANO: If "Absurd!" is the "Scraped" of this album... This is the "Riad N' The Bedouins". Really nice guitars; little vocals. Maybe, it works very fine as an opener (And put "Roll On 2 U" as track 9; switch places). 3:39 of heavy rock. Hm. After all... It's a new song. Who cares?!
GENERAL: Another "Sorry" little brother. I really see "Elvis" / "Sorry" / "General" like the same batch of melodies, I don't know. Interesting track. Rose vocals not powerful as in "Absurd!" or "Feelin' It". Where is that "grinding riff"?! Sebastiannnnn. Last heavy/dark song of the album.
PERHAPS: Third piano driven song of the album after "Casino Night Zone" and "7". A certainly great upgrade over the 1999 vers. It's dark but with a bit of hope. I like it, I love it!
HERE TODAY: Duff vocals. If "Perhaps" is night; "Here Today" is the dawn or the sunrise. Lovely track; maybe even epic song. Think of a mix between "Misunderstood" and "Crazy" by Aerosmith. I don't know. Just freakin' magic. It's a song of love, sure but it hurts... Still hurts. Beach, sunrise/sunset. I don't know how to describe it. I really love it. 10/10.
RIDERS OUT OF SIGHT: EPIC. YES. YES, LAST EVER ROSE MASTERPIECE OF ALL TIMES. Start like a dark song, like an uninspired "Patience", slow, but later on... I REALLY LOVE YOU AXL. MAN. YOU'RE THE GREATEST FRONTMAN OF ALL TIME. AFTER ALL THIS TIME, THE THING IS THAT WE LOVE YOU, MAN. "NOVEMBER RAIN" / "ESTRANGED" / "RIDERS OUT OF SIGHT". LOVE YOU, MAN. LOVE YOU AS A STARFUCKER. Tears in my eyes again. We are so fortunate to live in this world. Really.
Axl, how beautiful life is while you're in the world.
HARD SKOOL: The great finale. 90's rock and roll style, let's go!! End of the journey. It was a nice ride, right? Like "Roll On 2 U", this is a great direct rock and roll. And life is this.

My opinion only. The Slash solo self titled album and the velvet revolver first album were both way better than CD and has far more playability. CD I pull out every now and then. Get disappointed at what could of been and pack it back away. It has nothing appealing for me. Maybe a few gems here and there but thats it 😀
Yep, Contraband is a perfect rock album. Not a bad song on it. Chinese has its moments but doesn’t hold a candle to VR’s debut.

Just saw it. Hated it. Bond was out of character the whole film. Fucks sake your a cold blooded assassin, cool car driving,, womanising badass! Get vodka swilling and necking on already! James Bond was nowhere to be seen in this movie.

It’s crazy that a band as massive as GNR can’t promote a single yet Slash’s other band absolutely nails promotion. If only Slash’s team were managing GNR… laughable really!

I recently got a PRS MT15. Some serious power for a 15 amp lunchbox. Gigged a few times and more than holds its own.

And when you think about it, the titles/lyrics do hint at that and everything around it. Cryptically, of course.
It don’t really matter (can’t do it, is giving up, comforting himself)
Sorry (again, feeling sorry for himself, whining)
There was a time (when everything worked as usual; not any more, though)
Scraped (originally as "Scrapped")
If the world (would help me finally resolve this today)
Shackler’s Revenge (finally got through; relief)
I just hope he’s found some good laxative, cause I’m not waiting for another damn decade.
Sick o’ shit, Randy. Sick o’ shit. You forgot about Hard-stool there.

Ignorance indeed is a disease.
I always wondered which song they'd do. Starlight to honor Myles/Slash collaboration (their first song done together)? Anastasia? Ghost (I think Axl would sound good on this)?
I’ve always thought the end of The Unholy was made for a full rasp Axl.
”The broken how they cry…”

Personally I’d love to see Myles guest at a Guns show. I imagine you’d get an amazing duet between him and Axl.
-
Myles is writing masterpieces like Blackbird, Fortress and Cry Of Achilles. Axl has just released Absurd.
Yes Axl’s high points in songwriting (mostly from the 80’s and early 90’s) exceed Myles but let’s not pretend Myles has ever hit lows as bad as Scraped or Absurd.

To me, GNR was at their best when they were playing live, and it sounded as if every member was hanging on by mere threads. That at any moment, said thread could snap and everything would collapse and all hell would completely break loose. Sometimes that thread did snap, and all hell literally did break loose. But most of the times, it held--just barely. And that's what I think of when I think of how GNR is suppose to feel. It's also why, regardless of how awesome Buckethead is (and I truly think he is), he wasn't a good fit. GNR is suppose to sound disjointed, edgy, slightly out of step and violent. None of those things describe Buckethead.
Perfectly put! The attitude and brotherhood and, yes, unhinged sloppiness was, in essence, what made GNR. Any performance could be the last. All the technical proficiency in the world can’t replicate that buzz and energy.

Axl bringing that clean out of breath Mickey Mouse vocal to GNR and people think Myles sounds bad?! Need their ears testing…

Anyone unsure what Pele’s opinion is as to the existence of new music? Very good, please continue repeating the same message multiple times per page - the fella at the back hasn’t heard you…

No I didn't. I compared with Creed. A Nu Metal band with an Eddie Vedder wannabe that was 100 times bigger than Alter Bridge ever was and probably ever will be!
But Alter Bridge is an incredible band and a critical darling unlike Creed. In the UK and Europe Alter Bridge is a much bigger band than Creed was.

There are many many possible collaborations that would make sense and were far more interesting than Myles but after more than 10 years of the Conspirators we have to accept that Slash's creative output will be performed by Myles. It would be totally ok when GNR were releasing music on a regular basis too
Exactly. We all know the ideal collaborator for Slash is Axl. Sadly though Axl has such great artistic integrity that he refuses to release his art so I guess we’re stuck with Myles who according to this forum is somehow a lesser artist than Axl despite all the evidence of the last 30 years to the contrary… 🙄

I've made a bet with him. He has promised to pay me 5000$ if that happens, so there's that.
Absolutely crazy to bet anything on this band! If there’s a way for them to let you down, they’ll find it. As much as I’d like Pele to be wrong, I think there’s a good chance of him winning this bet.

To me it feels and sounds more like Myles is working assembly line. It's all so bland and boring because of him but Slash wants no drama and no challenge it seems. The music suffers a lot though, imo.
At this point, the most interesting he could would be another Slash & friends style album, but that's unlikely cause it's complicated and a lot of work. I totally understand where he's coming from, but is anybody really exciting about SMKC album Nr. 4,5,6...
I’m excited. Slash albums are always fun and he’s about the only gig going for that style of rock and roll abandon (GNR don’t have it anymore).

I love the song and I’m a huge Myles fan (Alter Bridge, Slash, solo). What’s most impressive to me about Myles is how prolific he is. We talk about Slash never taking a break, but since Alter Bridge’s third album in 2010, Myles has recorded 10 full albums between his three projects, plus the two songs on Slash’s first album, something like 5 or 6 live albums, and a slew of guest appearances. I think this contributes to a lot of the “generic” talk. Myles has simply overextended himself. When you’re trying to write lyrics and melodies for three very different projects (more dramatic “metal” rock with AB, blues based sleazy hard rock with SMKC, and blues/country/Americana rock with his solo stuff) I imagine you could start repeating yourself after awhile without even realizing it.
Hope Dexter didn’t read this. He’d have had a coronary reading about 10 albums in just over ten years. You can dislike Myles voice but he’s undeniably an artist and loves to create music. Axl is barely a blip on his radar these days.

Compare this kinda footage to the GNR selects that they seemingly haphazardly uploaded for the world to view. For how big GNR is they’ve unfortunately let rank amateurs operate their business:
That is what a rock and roll band should look like!
