I actually don’t think Axl’s sounding too bad at all this tour. Remember he’s pushing 60…

I’d love them to call the new album “99 Vocals”.

There is no way at all that, if there’s a new album, Axl hasn’t sung in a slash or Duff penned song. It may be only one but I’m sure it’s happened.

You're part of the problem.
Pay them for this crap, and that;s the reason why the next release in about 3 years will be Atlas and Perhaps with Rose's 99 vocals pasted over Slash instead of a real album that he actually goes into a studio and sings on.
And they'll charge you and promise to ship it in 6 months.
You can bet your bottom dollar we'll be getting posts in Feb saying there is no sign of these CDs actually being delivered.
I suspect if Axl hasn’t recorded a single vocal in 22 years, then he’s probably not going to be too fussed to just because an individual on this forum bought a hard Skool cd…

Live, you will have more fun with SMKC. GNR has the far superior songs though.

Imagine not listening to the leaks in the hope that GNR actually record/release new music.
If you haven't heard the leaks, here is a summary of what's left:
- Perhaps - decent piano driven ballad, would be a nice filler track on Illusion
- Atlas Shrugged - dreadful effort, like Catcher but somehow even worse, sounds dis-jointed and patched together
- State of Grace - very good song, vocals not 100% finished and parts of the verses are mumbled
- Nothing - absolutely nothing of note. Non-descrip generic ballad with mumbled half-asses vocal
- Eye on You - dreadful, My World/Silkworms level with Axk rapping a few lines, incomplete
- A ton of instrumentals that he never wrote lyrics or recorded for - except Quick Song where he shouts 'woo-woo' on
Also, there is The General from 2006, which has a similar sound to State of Grace.
You haven't heard the leaks then?
Wasn’t particularly interested at the time, heard Hardskool, Perhaps and Atlas once and then chose not to listen again as they were clearly unfinished and I didn’t want to spoil any reunion release. Hardskool is basically new to me and 99% of all humans so when Axl sang it has no relevance at all.
It’s a bit unfair of you to blame the band for you illegally downloading their music prior to release. Regardless of whether you thought it would be ever released - it’s on you if you chose to hear them before you were meant to.

So? If you don't listen to the State of Grace leak, you'll never ever hear the song.
And believe it or not, it's pretty good!
Don’t open your presents early and then complain you knew what you were getting when Christmas morning comes. Just a suggestion.

I’m pleased we got some news songs. I only listened to the leaks once for this very reason so it feels new to me. I dig it, I’m pleased it was released. I hope they release more. What the fuck are people complaining about now? When the vocals were recorded? Who gives a fuck?!

I’m still confused as to why it’s impossible for Axl to have recorded any vocals post 99 despite the fact that, erm, he has? A few were even on Chinese Democracy… 😂

What do you think is more likely?
That he used 99 vocals, and also 99 cut'n'pastes from another demo, and then he recorded 4 lines two decades later - or they just used existing studio takes?
Yeah, but so what…?😂

Van Gough can afford to release art 200 years later since, presumably, no one will be concerned whether or not he used his rasp.
Did his later works go a bit Mickey Mouse?

I know, right!? First Van Gogh release in nearly 200 years and he’s palming us off with a copy and pasted oil painting from the 17th century…!

Although being dead and all, he’s less bloated.

I bet they drop an album after playing Hard Skool tonight!
Happy to get the rollercoaster of foolish, sky high hype followed by crushing disappointment rolling…

Band is on fire at the moment. Axl seems back to nearly 2016 vocals and the enthusiasm is back. It’ll be a great show guaranteed.

Great show! Band has hit its stride, the chemistry is back and, genuinely, Axl is getting it done! Kudos where it’s due. I think there might even be an album coming.

Did he say “soon” using his ‘99 vocal? Because it would be impossible for him to vocalise any other time after that…

Credit to Axl. He looks incredible this run and the happiness is radiating from him. Man has put the work in exercise-wise.

Wishful thinking:
Imagine SMKC open for GNR in some of their upcoming legs with SMKC promoting their new record. The all Slash shows! 5 hours full of Slash.
I think Slash would totally be down for that! Not sure Axl would welcome the comparison of his vocals next to Myles though.

“Rasp”. No other singer in history is scrutinised solely on how much “rasp” they sang with as Axl is. People say things like, “a lot of rasp on Night train tonight…” It’s something unique to a GNR forum!

WAT
What I said. You don’t have to look far for incredible Myles vocals and he’s largely regarded (outside of this forum) as one of the best rock vocalists out there (classic rock polls, loud wire polls, even tried out for Led Zeppelin). Here’s one example. Enjoy!

It’s an ok song. Nothing more. Sounds unfinished somehow.
