  1. Impossible is nothing?

Encore: Madagascar, There Was A Time, Better, Patience, Nice Boys, New Song #3, Paradise City

I'm assuming this is your dream setlist? I'm with you on it actually. Though I'd gladly sacrifice Prostitute (which is one of my favorite songs) for Civil War, OR I'd switch Prostitute and This I Love's positions.

  2. Having not read what anyone else has said, Axl looked fine this past tour. No homo. Regardless, it doesn't matter what the man looks like. It's his voice that matters, and I'm sure he knows it.

  3. Top of the list gets the most points, right? Alright.

    12. Don't Cry (Original)

    11. Yesterdays

    10. There Was A Time

    09. Coma

    08. You Could Be Mine

    07. Prostitute

    06. Sorry

  4. I hate to be someone who stirs a pot or anything, but I have a friend who works in Hot Topic. He called me up on his break because he knows I love Guns N' Roses, and knows how rare it is for any new Guns N' Roses merch that doesn't have to do with the original band.

Well, he told me of three items that are coming in. A new shirt, featuring "A crown of thorns" and the new Guns logo. He described it as similar to my desktop wallpaper that he's seen, which is basically the Rock in Rio promo. Then he said "There are other Guns N' Roses things coming according to the computer but nothing other than Guns N' Roses 96XXXXX in the computer"

I checked the website and found the shirt, it's number is 98 though so I dunno if the 96XXXXX means anything.

    Here's the shirt:

    Good sign?

  5. Guys...it's not too hard to get ahold of glossy paper, print on it, and have it stapled with a booklet press. I could easily make a fake cover with these scans and then have it shrinkwrapped by my friend at Best Buy.

  6. Thanks everyone! I've been working on it more since the original posting, I'm about 45 seconds into the song now.

I've been interested in learning typography as well. What program did you use, Live type?

No, I've been doing this all in Adobe After Effects. Creating the effects and graphics, and typing out every word of the song, then animating it. It's taking a while. I'm not sure what Live Type is.

  7. I have a background in 3D animation and other media technology elements (state computer animation champion with SkillsUSA and Business Professionals of America!). So I started work on a typography animation (my first!!) earlier this morning. It was 5 AM and I began looking up typography animations, and I saw one for Civil War and it inspired me to try to create one. So I looked up a few tutorials to get the gist of an animation down, and I applied the concept I learned in 2 or 3 hours to Shackler's Revenge. I was going to do one for Better, but somebody on YouTube already made the intro into a typography animation, so I chose not to. Perhaps when I'm more skilled at it later, I'll try it out. This is my first real attempt at typography animation, so I don't know that it's awesome or anything...the entire thing was created by myself in Adobe After Effects CS4.

I hope you enjoy it. Like it, leave a comment, and subscribe if you want to see more. More subscribers will encourage me to finish it sooner...because lord knows with the heat we're having here in Massachusetts I'm not gonna wanna do anything...

  8. It's the truth. It's been so long, does anyone think that Guns getting back together is going to rejuvenate them? Obviously as fans, we'd love to see it...but do THEY want it? Do you think Slash or Duff think at least once a day "Man, I really wanna reunite with Izzy and Axl and Steven on stage one more time."

Surely the thoughts come once in a while, but do they want it more than anything? No. So why bother? For the fans? For the money? There's no need. It'd be for the fans if they ever did.

  9. I've always loved Chinese Democracy. It's probably one of my favorite albums of all time. However, I've recently begun to appreciate the tracks off of it even more than I had before. I just experienced what went from a mutual break up to a bad break up, and I find a lot of the songs from Chinese Democracy deal with the whole process of dealing with loss.

I.R.S. for example, I've always loved but I'm loving it even more now because of the lyrics.

This I Love was a song I've always loved, and now the lyircs seem more applicable.

    As does Prostitute.

I feel like Chinese Democracy may be the perfect break up album?

So, does anyone love the songs on Chinese Democracy more than they first did, for whatever reason?

  10. I think it comes down to the fact that Slash became a public icon representing rock music. I don't want to get bashed for this, but it's like Axl said...Slash wanted to (and did) work with all kinds of musicians no matter what quality and caliber they were. Axl felt that he had to represent himself on a higher standard and didn't 'sell his voice/image' to anyone who wanted to collab.

Thus, with Slash working with so many musicians and being in the public, he became an icon of rock. Yes, Axl is one of the greatest frontmen of all time but his image isn't on Slash's level.

Coming from an Axl Rose fan, by the way, so don't think I'm bashing Axl or anything...
