  1. Heard on the radio that other concerts are also postponed.

Was going to the aug 17th concert in Montreal.

Falling on the stage and or off the stage is something that happens to many artists. We'll just have to wait a little longer to see U2.

Axl didn't fall off the stage during the 2010 concerts, but he did slip and fall on his back during a concert. After the concert, when I asked him if he was hurt by the fall, he said that his hip hurt a little but that he was ok.

Bono must feel really bad, but these things happen, so we wish him all the best and also a quick recovery.

  2. It may be possible, but not worth the time, and the associated query would use up additionnal server ressources.

Time and effort these days is heading towards preparing to test out the 3.1 beta 2 version of IPB on the test Forum, and the iPhone version of the Forum.

  3. These things hapen. Probably better to slide on the stage than to fall of it.

It's not the first time Axl slides during this tour. I've seen him slide a little worse, if I remember corectly it was in Toronto in 2010 at the exact same place on the exact opposite side of the stage.

At Luckally Axl did not seem to be hurt.

  5. This has already been answered in the opening post!

When you associate your account using Facebook connect, you are given the options to sync your profile picture, avatar, status and about me with your Facebook account. This is optionnal. You can select for all or only some of these options to be synchronised. This occurs once every 24 hours.

As for TOR, it has not been tested yet.

  6. WHAT IS FACEBOOK CONNECT?

Facebook connect is an exciting new board feature that allows current users to link their Facebook account with their forum account. New users can also do this uppon registration.

WHAT EFFECT DOES USING IT HAVE?

When you associate your account using Facebook connect, you are given the options to sync your profile picture, avatar, status and about me with your Facebook account. This is optionnal. You can select for all or only some of these options to be synchronised. This occurs once every 24 hours.

HOW DO I USE FACEBOOK CONNECT TO ASSOCIATE MY CURRENT ACCOUNT TO MY FACEBOOK ACCOUNT?

Step 1: Access your personal settings page.

Step 2: Click the profile tab

Step 3: Click Manage Facebook Connect.

Step 4: Click "connect with facebook". Note - this will install the Facebook connect application to your Facebook profile.

If you ever want to disassociate facebook with your forum account, simply use the "Disassociate account now" button on the Facebook Connect page.

DOES LOGGING INTO ONE MAKE ME LOGGED INTO THE OTHER?

Having your facebook login stored in your browser allows you to log into your forum account without entering your password. While this is no doubt convenient, it is worth noting as this represents a minor security risk for members.

CAN PEOPLE SEE MY FACEBOOK PAGE FROM DOING THIS?

No. This does not provide a link to your Facebook page - it only syncs the content back to your forum profile. People will not be able to see your Facebook page, only the data listed above will be made available on your forum profile. This maintains a degree of privacy when using the feature.

I HAVE TWO ACCOUNTS ON MYGNRFORUM. WILL THIS MATTER?

Firstly, it should be noted that we have a strict one account per member rule. However, in the interests of member's awareness of forum bugs, logging into a second forum account and attempting to use Facebook connect will result in the following error:

    "Facebook Connect Mismatch

The Facebook account you are currently logged into is already linked to another forum account.

You will need to log out of Facebook before returning here if you want to configure these options."

This can be rectified by logging out of Facebook and re-logging into the forum. Again, we have a one account per member rule so this should not be an issue when following forum rules.

DOES MYGNRFORUM HAVE AN OFFICIAL FACEBOOK GROUP?

Yes, here. We are hoping to expand, moderate and manage this group as it grows in the future and we may use it for forum and GNR related announcements.

If you have any questions about Facebook Connect or MYGNRFORUM on Facebook, feel free to post them in this thread, or to contact highvoltage or admin with any questions or concerns.

***Special thanks to Highvoltage for helping me test out FaceBook Connect on the test Forum, and this post.

  7. I love pyros! The fans really looked like they also appreciated them at each and every concert I attended.

I think there's a huge difference between simply hearing the pyros on youtube or botlegs and actually being in the venue as they are used during the concert.

I especially like the pyros used in "Live & Let die" in the current World Tour. My favorite pyros of all are the ones we had in the 1992 Montreal concert. In my opinion, we got the best "Live and Let Die" ever played. There was lots of echo, so when the fireworks popped we would actually hear the echo 2.5 times.. (you know what I mean if you have been to a GNR concert where Live and Let Die was played with fireworks). Anyways I thaught that was way cool. We had it big time. (I copy and pasted this from a post I did back in 2005).

The use of pyros in this tour (2010), to me, seem well balanced throughout the concert. Not all songs have pyros.

I also like the "fire" used in the opening song "Chisese Democracy". You can really feel the heat of the fire from almost everywhere in the venue! I always have a smile on my face when I see fans feeling this heat for the first time wondering for 3 seconds it's normal or not to feel the hear from this far (wich it is). The "fire" also makes a interesting lighting effect. It just makes it so special, you really have to be there to feel it.

  8. Just waiting for Eric now, his post which is apparently coming should be very interesting.

You may or may not find it interesting. I've posted it in the appropriate thread in Support section as my response does not belong in the MAIN GNR section:

    http://www.mygnrforum.com/index.php?showtopic=159662&view=findpost&p=2592055

This thread has clearly gone off topic.

Everything about Revolver's trip seems to have been said. So unless Revolver has anything more to add to it, i'll close it for now.

As for the other subjects mentionned in this thread, I'm directing Forum members to the appropriate threads:

  9. Were you guys able to get pics with Axl but you (out of respect for him) just don't wanna post them on here? Even if cameras were discouraged, surely one of you guys, Revolver,GunsGuy,Junglecat had cell phone cameras.

Cool that a deserving Forum member won

Some of us did have cell phone cameras, but didn't use them.

We shook hands with, talked to Axl on many occasions, but we didn't take any pictures of him or with him. No one asked us not too. Out of respect or too busy partying, probably both. For myself I prefered to have the opportunity to talk to and party with an incredebly cool artist (he was really nice in person), over having pictures and no talk! I think the same goes for all of us from the Forum who had the opportunity to meet Axl.

We did take a few pics with 2 band members (DJ Ashba, and Bumblefoot) at the last after show I attended (Quebec City, Montrealer posted the pics). Mabye other pics will pop up, I don't know.

This being said, we should have thaught of taking a group picture. I think the reason we didn't is because we were all on the "go" and often some of us had different itinaries (plane, train, car), different time for flights, diferent hotels, etc. We were all way tired.

I will post today a few pictures of mygnrforum members at pre-show GT's in London, and Toronto!

It was so cool to meet and party with Revolver who traveled such a long way (from Iceland) to see the London and Montreal concerts! It was so funny finding out we ended up by chance being on the same train to London.
