Damn I thought he will perform some of the new songs instead of just bring part of the house band
It did say he would be performing his song with the house band. Maybe tonight they will show a whole song or two.

Wasn't Slash performing in Jimmy Kimmel the last two nights and again tonight? Where are all the vids?

Why is that?
There vocals both just annoy me.

Rolling Stone, Living for the City and the Pusher for me \m/ no particular order

So I guess I am in the minority here but Beth Hart annoys me through most of the song and even after the song ends lol. Her and Iggy's songs are my two least favorites. Not terrible but I don't like either of their vocals on these songs.
The rest of the album is pure gold.

Now compare that production to GnR's most recent singles.
It's just insane.
I'd rather not listen to the latest Gn'R singles lol

Well the "S.E.R.P.E.N.T" acronym is a bit meh . Some of the organizations he is raising money for are suspect. Like the one that was founded by Colin Kaepernick in my opinion. He isn't driving it down anyone's throats though and I have my doubts about how much Slash was really behind all that anyway. He really hasn't mentioned it at all and describes the festival as a nod to Blues music. I always admired Slash keeping things about the music. I think the most political thing he has ever done was his save the elephants crusade lol.

Again, cool video!
I really like that the fucking top hat seems to be completely absent for the blues thing XD
Hopefully he leaves it at home for the tour. But he won't lol. The footage from the videos are from the studio where he never wears it.

Well that video was f'n legit... Damn.. They could have synced up some of the solo footage with his playing better but still awesome.

Well, that listen was a fun ride!
Biggest surprise was "Living in the City". I thought it was incredible. I don't think I know the original and didn't care for the Tash solo stuff I checked out but he and the song were fantastic.
Metal Chestnut was cool. It was just a little 2 minute "chestnut" thrown on the end of the album. I think people take things too seriously sometimes. There are hundreds of albums out there that throw on a little curveball extra at the end. I don't think it was meant to change the world.
I thought everything was great except the Iggy Pop song. Iggy ruined that one for me. He just came off as annoying and fake. That song could have been really good with someone else.

This is the best morning ever..
Looking at the track list I was thinking he could have picked better songs. Great songs, just stock and over covered. Well after a few songs in I guess I was wrong. Crossroads and Hoochie Coochie Man fucking rocked and I thought those were two of the most boring choices..
Only 5 songs deep so far but well done Saul.. Well done.

Either way it is better than my other Slash autograph. I met him after a Snakepit show and I was f'n hammered. All I had was the LIES cassette in my truck and he signed it with a yellow highlighter lol.. It's all we had. Needless to say, the yellow was a bit tough to see over the beige cassette sleeve. Still a great story though.

I wouldn't be disappointed by that - looks cleaner on a flat black surface, and it won't fade or smudge over time.

Interview on Radio 2 with an exclusive first listen of Born Under A Bad Sign
I didn't listen to the interview but it since Beggars was played, it makes me believe that will be part of the set. Maybe they will Blues it up a little more.
Born Under a Bad Sign was cool. Just overplayed. As excited as I am for this album, much of the song selection is pretty boring. Great songs but just over played to death. Hoochie Coochie Man? C'mon lol

Live Nation is doing a promotion this week with the $25 tickets. They are doing this for the cheap GA seats for tons of shows and a lot of big name artists. They aren't discounting tickets due to sales for a tour that hasn't started yet and album that hasn't come out yet.
That said, it isn't selling great yet but that doesn't mean it won't. I am sure sales will pick up once the album comes out and they start promoting the tour more. He may not be selling venues out, but I am sure the turnouts will be decent come show time. Can't f'n wait!!

I would take a one off AFD5 show over any new music. All day and every day. Unfortunately the fact they haven’t done it yet tells me it’s probably never gonna happen.

I hear you.. He looks just as good if not better than any of the other OG members. Slash is a bit weight and is always hiding behind shades and a hat.. Duff is in Shape but his face it pretty tethered these days.. Steven actually looks pretty good.. Then there is Axl.. Izzy looks like a healthy normal dude and better than most 62 year old I know..

I can't imagine anybody wanting to fork out a few hundred dollars on a T$I? Box set. Like no way that happens.
They might dig into the archives for some more live concert releases, but no way would they put out a box set for a covers album few people even remember
Rather than a whole box set, they could just remaster it and throw in some bonus tracks. Or release two DISC/LP set of some sort. I would like to have it on Vinyl. Any extras would be sweet too.
I would kill to hear those songs with Izzy. I thought I read somewhere that his tracks were deleted but who knows.

Maybe you are, but some of us aren't.
Put me in the "tired of" camp. I just revisited some stuff from "World of Fire" which I loved at the time and Myles was still turning me off. SMKC was a cool vehicle to follow Slash with but as flacid as the current Gn'R lineup is, I'd still rather see him play those classic Also 10 times more excited about a new cover album than anything SMKC.

A TSI boxset would be cool if they still had the recordings they did with Izzy...

Dear god, is Slash deaf? Clink also praised his guide vocals for the album demos. I can only hope he's taken a lot of singing lessons since 1997.
Seriously. I saw Teddy will singing some songs and was horrified.

Never understood why people preferred Rod Jackson
Same.. I always thought the first album was far superior overall. I am not in love with either singer, but I liked Eric a lot more than Rod.
