This is the problem with click-bait “journalism”…

    Stupid non-story.

I am with you but in this case it wasn't clickbait.. Nuno said what he said.. There wasn't much room for interpretation.. The guys is a major douche  with one of the biggest egos I have ever seen. Look at the beginning of his reply boasting about being on the cover of all these guitar magazines.. What a clown.. Last year I saw them open for Aerosmith and he was telling stories about himself and sucking his own dick then. A few weeks ago I read something from him telling a story about Prince telling his gf that Nuno was one of the top 3 guitar players he has ever seen. It never stops with that clown.

Props to Richard for sticking up for Slash.

  2. I have always wanted Slash to do a true Blues album but I have a feeling this won't be that since he coined it "Blues Oriented".  There are some videos of him jamming with that guy Jimmy Vivino a few years back and I always thought they would make a killer collaboration.  I did like his 2010 album but I don't usually care for these albums with 20 different guests. They just don't feel like a true album and their are always some questionable guests...

That said, this is the most exciting thing Slash has done in awhile now.  SMKC ran its course and then some.. There is sure to be atleast a few killer tracks on this one. Very cool to see Mike Clink involved if that is the case too.

What I will say is that they need to get rid of Wichita Lineman, because it's a horrible cover, and Absurd, which is just a horrible horrible song. Two decades of this absolute garbage of a song haunting me jesus christ lol

I actually like WL.. Axl sounds great on it and I like teh little acoustic jam.. Absurd on the other hand soudl disappear from existence.

I'm not sure why people think tuning the songs down will work. they already play in half step. you're talking D or C# and then not only that singing it baritone. You won't even recognise the song. I think what people mean is Axl should sing an Octave lower without the band changing tunings. To keep him out of that mid range which he has completely lost.

    exactly

Exactly! tune the facking thing down... help yourself out. He doesn't need to sing in his low voice, but he could sing in a different key up high and still sound good.

I didn't mean that.. They already tune down 1/2 step... I'd rather him just sing in his low voice and if he is having a good night bust out his high voice..

Most bands use the same set list night and out on tours, true and that's all good. But most bands change it up after a leg or so. AC/DC they play the same set for the entire tour, but next time you see them it's a guarantee they will have shaken up the order of the songs, come up with a new entrance song/video/stage set. They also have the good sense to go away.

A lot of bands including Alice cooper, have a few different songs that they rotate for the opening songs.

Of course the staples of any bands set have to stay in order to keep people happy, nothing wrong that! just keep it interesting, keep adding songs, keep shuffling the orders, just have a master list and call the songs then and there (like they say they do).

AC/DC certainly don't switch up the set as much as GnR do.. Maybe the opening song but they change 2 or 3 songs a tour and play that same set every fucking night just like every other band.  Every Time I have seen Guns there are several songs that they didn't play the prior show. I have seen 4 reunion shows and if I saw them the other night I would have seen them play NINE songs that I hadn't seen yet..  Never mind the different intros to songs and Slash solos that changes.. AC/DC and Alice Cooper also play like 15 songs not 25 - 32.  Alice also doesn't rotate teh opening songs during a tour. I have seen him around 20 times..

Nah it would be a shame and disappointing. I’d rather him attempt to sing it correctly and struggle than just give up and tune down.

Working on adjustments to try and make it not sound embarrasing is giving up? That is what most gaing singers do.. Giving up is just sayingt fuck it I will continue to sound embarrasing

    Facts on Metallica's new album:

72 Seasons debuted at number 2 on the US Billboard 200, selling 146,000 copies in the first week with 134,000 coming from pure album sales; this marked the band's twelfth album to chart in the top 10.[48]

The album debuted at number-one in 20 different countries including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.

Number One in 20 countries doesn't seem like much of a 'flop' to me......

72 Seasons definaetely isn't a flop.. The massive tour to support it just started too.

Time's moved on, sure. Metallica aren't the hottest new band anymore. Tastes change.

I'm not sure what the debate here is? That Metallica don't sell as many albums as they did in the 80s? Of course they don't. But their albums certainly don't flop.

And while not they hottest band they are still arguabley the biggest band.  HardRock/Metal band anyway.
