  1. I know we don't really do 'progress pics' here but fuck it. After years of being my problem area, finally getting towards being happy with my midsection:

Also, yoga pants for Lith :P

    lookin good! Keep it up!!

  2. I'd love to hear Axls rerecorded version of AFD with Finck n Bucket.

No Bucket, as I understand it.

I think it's Finck, Huge, Stinson, Freese (and Dizzy, making the tea)

    I hope it leaks.

I'd love to hear the 99 AFD as well. Hopefully someday. If someone has more information give me a buzzzzzzzzz.

As far as the mastering on AFD goes, I think Barry did an incredible job and I would hate to see it get re-mastered and destroyed by today's 'sound'

I know the AFD Blu-Ray audio was in the works before being cancelled but I know it wasn't a re-master.

Also, for any re-mastering to take place, Slash/Duff/Axl all have to agree and sign off on it. Sometimes record labels have the ability to do whatever they want and re-master an artists album but GNR were smart enough to put this in their contract. This issue came up during the GH lawsuit when GNR tried to argue that UMG was releasing 're-mastered' tracks on the GH cd. UMG won that by showing the tracks were not re-mastered at all.

  3. Well, let's see, here. The capacity venue, according to wiki, says 5,500 (which does seem a bit high for a Slash non-festival headlining show in the states). Even with a 1/3 of it curtained off, it's still about 3,700 (could be the capacity with the curtain, not really the # of people that came) which could be the biggest attended US show they played to date as a non-festival headliner.

if you're really trying to figure this out I guess I should also mention that the top top level was empty also. So it was just the floor seats and the lower bowl that was filled.

  4. My understanding is soulmonster traded MSL his grenade cover for the 4 songs we have, which then leaked. Dunno how true that is, but it's what I heard.

gah this is wrong!!!!! I posted this yesterday on this board but I guess it got burried so ill repost here...

this rumor has been going around for days and so I thought i needed to finally reply to this. This is NOT true!!!!! MSL traded Better Gone for Grenade and thats it. The 11 tracks came LONG after MSL got the grenade. Theres even a topic about it in the memorbillia thread but I can't find it, so hopefully someone else can. 4 songs from the 11 tracks doesn't fit the timeline.

heres the thread with MSL talking about the Grenade CD in march 2012. MSL didn't get the 11 tracks until one year later.

  5. I doubt anything else is going to leak – IIRC, MSL gave the four leaked tracks to someone else in exchange for the "Grenade cover" version of Chinese Democracy, and that other party leaked the tracks. MSL claims to have the following tracks:

    1. Blood in the Water
    2. Better (remix with DJ Ashba guitar replacing Robin Finck)
    3. Better (new acoustic version)
    4. Shacklers Revenge remix (including Street Fighter II samples)
    5. If The World remix
6&7. DJ Ashba solos (Mi Amor and Ballad of Death, as played live on the tour)
    8. Oh My God (new version)
    9. Silkworms (studio version)
10.This I Love (Alternate version with Buckethead solo)
11.Going Down (Tommy Stinson on lead vocals)

If MSL leaks anything else from this haul, it won't be Checkmate. :(

  6. Awful news.

    lol

Your definition of 'awful news' is ludicrous. OK perhaps certain choices behind the production are questionable but an overall description of awful for progressive measures taken by camp GN'R? No.

You don't think it's awful that this show was filmed in HD and they're showing it on a network that only broadcasts in standard? Okay...

No, that definitely does not equate to 'awful news'.

    +1

Awful news would be it was cancelled.

It certainly isn't good news that we're getting another subpar product from GN'R...

jesus christ, you have to be the most negative mod I have ever seen. How are you in charge of this place? I am not saying you have to like everything the band does but getting a live show out is certaintly positive. You are just too spoiled with HD these days. It will show up on palladia eventually, calm your panties. Quite frankly I would buy this concert if it were released only on VHS. I for one am glad we are finally getting a live show released after years of wanting one. The band is on a roll lately and people should be happy about that.
