seems like a lot of the GN'R guys give interviews where they express this sentiment.
hes referring to The Compulsions album he did. He and other GNR members may feel that is the best way to record, but I think Axl likes to edit songs too much where this wouldn't really be the best approach.

you guys would be very pessimistic about this!
Axl has a solid stable band now, unlike the C.D. recording years, so I doubt it would take so long to get a record done. Personally I am just hoping they add some Bumble/DJ to existing songs and get them out, but if they are recording an entirely new album, I can't see it taking so long.

even if he were to drop a date for the next album, how would that be a fact? You wouldn't know if it is true or not until it was officially confirmed. It would just be an unconfirmed rumor until then and everyone would be jumping on his back and attacking him.

how is CD not new? Its from the latest album that they have been touring in support of for the past two years. They played it sparingly in 02 and 06 but not enough to consider it old.

Chinese has been getting played live for over 12 years now!
They've named their long awaited album after it, used it as the first song on said album and used it as the title of pretty much every tour for the last ten years! They've also been flogging the dying nag as the opener since 2009 and still 99% of the audience couldn't give less of a fuck if their lives depended on it! What does that tell you really?
again, they have played it sparingly during the 02 and 06 tours so its still pretty new to the general public. As far as the title of the previous tour is concerned, those tours were not in support of the album and this tour is not called the Chinese tour, so what does that have to do with anything?
how do you know the audience doesn't care about the song as the opener? Every show I've been to the crowd has gone nuts for it.

That diesnt really come into it. CD isn't new anymore anyway. They can use it to open the encore. A little reshuffle is what is needed.

i don't know where you get your information. the information is misleading. axl always said a trilogy. a 2 album project is what you want. not what axl wants

Btw, why did you write "indiferent (sp)"? What does "sp" mean? Could it be that you are mistaken and believe it is a standard abbreviation to be used when you are aware of having misspelled something, not realizing that sp. in reality is the abbreviation used by scientist to denote the species name of a scientific name of a species, e.g. Escherichia sp., Homo sp., and so on? If so, that is sad.
usually means "spelling?" as in he is not sure if he is spelling the word correctly

Chinese IS good new material. Perhaps you don't like the new material and would prefer to post in the Pre-1994 section of the board.

He's 50 that's it, hate to say this but Axl is past his prime. I wish he would create low key music or some country rock music something that ain't bombastic but deep down inside of me I know that he ain't going to do that. So I really don't anticipate anything great from Axl now; that's not to say that i don wish n hope for something great from him. The guy basically did everything a legendary front man does he did a great hard rock album , an acoustic album, an album full of epics n now he's 50 touring for the fans that's that.
so just because hes getting older, he has to make a slow and boring album?

Paul helped write quite a few songs such as There Was A Time. He even co-wrote Shadow of your Love with Axl. You shouldn't diminish his contributions to the band.
