Axl's arguments and side of the story is as valid as Slash's, Duff's or Izzy's. The thing is, all Slash, Duff and Izzy point their finger at Axl.

Btw, it's great to have Axl here "talking" with us but... don't you think he had this answer all written up when he did the post asking for your questions regarding the GN'R name? Do you honestly believe he read your questions and then wrote all that?

Well, to me, this Axl reply was already writen and approved by his lawers long ago... don't let yourself be manipulated, allways look above what people are telling you.

Why wait 12 years to say all these things? And why now that CD seems to be failling the sales expectation, although it's a good album? Is this some kind of a revegenge?

I'm not an Axl hater, I just don't buy all this crap. If he intended to have a contract with the rights of the name back in the early 90s was because he was already a control freak and with pappers signed he could force everybody else to do as he pleased, that's the truth if you ask me.

Many of the things we heard from Slash were very ridiculous, but if you want to believe them...

And we also have to mention that Slash contradicted himself a lot.

This is ssoooooooo much better then doing an interview. He's cut out the middle man and bringing his message direct to the fans.

WTF?! He talks now, 16-17 years after it happens and some of you thinks it's a lie?

If he wanted a lie to get believed he'd commet and do interview's on this 13-14 years ago, when some of the previous members of this band was out LYING.

Think people! If Axl was out to get Slash, Slash would have been a nobody years and years ago! Axl has NEVER talked badly about Slash to the press, why sink so low. Slash did'nt do anything but that until after 2005.

As some people didn't like what Axl said about Slash, they prefer to call Axl a liar.

Thanks for taking the time to clear up what has been a very controversial subject Axl. I'm sure you could be kept busy with years of homework (lol), but in spite of some initial hangups - I think this format really kicked ass.

Please remeber that you became famous WITH those guys: if you wouldn´t have been in a band with Slash, Izzy, Duff and Steven, than there wouldn´t have been a GN´R forum and people would have never heard of you (atleast not the way, you are recognized know)

Negative comments about old lineup... Hehe, you mean about Slash... Well, I remember when Slash said a lot of negative things about Axl in many interviews.

Axl was a ¨saint¨ in this post compared to what Slash said about Axl some years ago. Besides, Slash said many inconsistent things. Axl explained many things.

In his posts over the past few days, Axl goes on and on now about how not-really-a-band the old GN'R was, how they didn't get along with anything, how there were secret ambitions and plots and politics right from the outset, and tones down the musical accomplishments to a point where we are to think they are insignificant compared to Chinese Democracy.

I love Axl, but the way he has responded has just made me very upset...to try and erase what put you on the map, it's despicable of anyone. Slash is just as in the wrong, but that's just it. It's a 50-50 split, and neither of them can see that. It doesn't take a genius, or someone who was even there. The very fact that they're on entire polar opposites implies that there is some middle ground they are both choosing to ignore.

And does anyone else find Axl's VERY long defense on why he kept the name Guns N' Roses just.......off? I appreciate the man offering his genuine opinion, but it doesn't matter what band it is...if it gets to the point where there is just one of the people left, then it is not the same band of people, and therefore requires a different identity. Guns N' Roses is not a survival story for anyone but Axl, and that makes it AXL'S survival story, not Guns N' Roses.

By "stick to their guns" - do you mean people who want to ignore facts that Axl presented because they're too embarrassed to admit they may have jumped to the wrong conclusion in the past when they hadn't heard both sides? I believe that's called - being in denial. I think people should hear and consider both sides in all of this - rather than hanging onto a view you held previously just because you don't want to admit you may not have had all the facts.

Well, Slash/Duff's view are the polar opposite of Axl's view with how everything went down. No facts given really, just different versions of the same event. In honesty, I don't see why one recollection of a story should be believed over another at this point. Food for thought nonetheless, but pointless to try to come to any sort of conclusion about what really happened.

It sounds like what Slash did to Scott. But with Axl, Slash lost... That is why I believe in Axl's side of the story.

Anyway, everyone is entitled to "believe" whomever they want. It's cool to FINALLY get Axl's side, and he may disagree, but the truth IS always somewhere in the middle.
