I think us die-hard GN'R fans severely over-estimate the public's conception of Axl Rose.

I very much doubt anyone outside the GN'R circle is pondering about this right now. They're like, "Cool, Axl Rose, haven't seen him in a while, weird!" or "Hmm, what happened to that guy?" Then there are the people who don't know who he is.

Axl Rose WAS a rock god/icon, but for the current generation, he is not. So whenever you start thinking about stuff like this, you have to keep in mind that we are die-hards, and most of the other people aren't.

Don't worry most people know Axl. There are new bands that are chosen by many teens, yeah, but Axl is still a rock ¨god/icon¨.

The best part of the VMA was when Axl appeared.

I don't know if it's enough promotion, the only thing I know is that I want to watch the VMAs....

The person who wrote the article mentioned other famous people, not only Axl. It's not an article against Axl. It's about famous people. And Axl is famous.
