Every Metallica album has great stuff on it.
The last one didn't.
Sure it did, just ignore Lars and some of it is listenable...

Lock the discussion and news section until something is actually worthy of discussion in the news.
Fucking agreed, I cant face Incognito anymore.
-
Love them, missed them on their tour just a couple of weeks ago.
Have to wait for them to come back now...

It's becoming clear a lot of artists can't even fill up the damn things anymore without resorting to stuffing the tail end to the brim with filler.
Digital singles will probably become the dominant touted sales figures sometime down the road, unless some awesome shit happens in the industry (Grunge II?!).
Guns N' Roses II!!!!!!!!!!
In all seriousness if things go to downloads I think we'll see less filler and end up with like 5 songs on an album. Which would suck major balls.
See I think that would be sweet. Especially if it meant more frequent releases.
Maybe if we got more frequent releases, but if it's still the same amount of time between albums it would suck to only get a few tracks. Filler can be pretty good sometimes.
-
Wish you guys would come up north, haven't seen a Guns tribute band around here before. In fact haven't seen anything remotely rock related around here lately...
EDIT: Oh wait, might go to the Manchester one.

Ah, only one UK show and it's way down in London, I won't be able to go.
Wish he would play a show or two further up north, Manchester or Newcastle perhaps...
He's also doin Sheffield on April 10th.
Brilliant, 4 days before my brithday as well. Might have to go to that...

Was just reading an article about this actually in the latest issue of Classic Rock, and about how they want vinyl to make a comeback once CD dies...

I don't recall him actually saying anything, although I do think the fact that Don't Cry wasn't played properly again until '07 was something like Axl paying his respects to Shannon.

i hope cds dont get away. they should give you a free download with the purchase of the album like they do with some vinyl. I bought the new jack johnson album on vinyl and thats what they did.
What would be the point, you can just rip the album to your computer...
The reason they give you them with vinyls is because you can't exactly stick that on your computer can you.

I'm not so sure about this
Granted, it appears we're heading in that direction, but still having something tangible, is still something a lot of people want.
The concept of "An Album" just does'nt seem the same if you have to play it off of an mp3
Maybe I'm a little old fashioned here, but I still like the idea of something that resembles an album
I agree, when I think of an album I think of a CD, it wouldn't be the same. Even if I just ripped the CD to my computer then put it on the rack and never listened to the actual CD again (which I do most of the time) I still like owning a physical product.
I'm the same too. My friend always bugs me about that. I dont think he even owns one store bought CD
He always tells me "why dont you just download it and you can even print out the album art, and it's just like the original."
No it's not. It's just not the same.
You just can't beat the feeling of going down to the store, looking through for what you need, buying it then rushing home to listen to it. Plus I like just looking through the rock section for covers that catch my eye.
-
I hope not, I definitely prefer cds. I download to, but when I can I buy the cds, mainly because I like them. But it looks like it's going that way, I know that most of my friends never buy a cds and they thing it's weird that I do.
I'm hardly an audiophile but the 128 kbps soundquality from iTunes is shit and I really hope the quality in general won't turn shit (or rather more shit than it already has )
Same here, I very rarely download anymore actually, always buy the CDs unless it's out of print or something. I think I'm alone in buying CDs nowadays, everyone else just uses Limewire....
-
I'm pretty surprised to see they dropped PIB from the CD, seeing as how it is one of their biggest hits and especially good live.
Axl should be taking notes, this is how you release a live album...

What pickup cavities do you have on your strat?
Considering you're probably gonna have to do a bit of routing for the humbucker, and later for the floyd it, it would be advisable to wait until you install the floyd before you paint it.
All single coils and how much would a licenced floyd rose cost? again I am tight on money right now.
So wait until you have enough money to buy everything you need...

I hope it doesn't happen too soon. And if they do go all digital, I hope bands don't drop album artwork, It'd still be cool to have...

I like that they're one of these days greatest rockbands. I'm a huge fan of Dave Grohl, which btw is genuis, in what he did in Nirvana and what he has done with FF.
Dave is a multi-genuis, he's probably one of the greatest drummers ever, and he is an very talented songwriter, vocalist and guitarplayer.
And most important of all FF manages to write very good songs. That you're comparing them to Nickelback are just silly. They are on another level.
They can write everything from energic oldschool rock'n'roll, to beautiful masterpieces. Speaking of masterpieces, their last record was amazing.
FF are probably the best rock-band of today.
I agree. He can play and sing. Everything he does is just AMAZING. I used to like them alot. But ya all there songs sound the same but NOW I LOVE THEM. If you really listen there songs sound different. AC/DC= all there songs sound the same look at them there huge. And FYI Foo Fighters = Best Live Band.
No, that would be Muse.

Fuck, hope they go back on tour soon. Then come to the UK! :xmasssanta:

They are pretty good from the few songs I've heard, don't have any of their albums yet but I do plan on checking them out proper eventually.
