I think among all the "new" songs that came out of the leaks, the real lost gem is Catcher in the Rye.

I mean, as fans, how long have we all waited for a high quality version of Catcher with Brian May?  Since the day the original leaked.  While I love Ron's solo during the last verse, the album version is a muddled mess.  The mix on this version is better and the layers are *somewhat* toned down, but best of all we get the May contributions.  Not to mention that little synth breakdown before the solo is WAY better on this version than on the album version.

The only thing better from the album version are the drums.  But they were mixed too low anyway...

It's definitely way better. Nothing can ever recapture the feeling that first shitty demo gave me though. I played it over and over and never got sick of it.

yeah I just meant more or less proper vocals cause Hard School feels a little empty like another verse will improve it. Do you really believe Axl will put tunes on the set list just to fight boredom by a small group of hardcore fans? I doubt it but if true that would be hilarious.

I think they do stuff with the setlists to troll us for sure. There was a big wink and nod with "Prostitute" on a leaked setlist after a leak but it was spelled incorrectly, which to me (or I was reading way too much into it) was poking fun at all of the arguing on forums about whether or not the lyric is "prostitute", because it's not sung clearly.

  3. Fantastic show. The only negatives were the woman at the end of our row that threw up before the band even came on (forcing us to smell it the entire time) and the mix or whatever made "Better" sound like crap. I couldn't even tell what they were intro'ing. I may be spoiled after seeing and hearing Finck tear it up at Hammerstein in 2006, but it was terrible.

Is it comfortable to get to Heinz Field by foot, from city centre? Or are there any public transport out there that is easy to get on?
Never been to Philadelphia before. Staying uptown in a hotel.

It's easy to walk to Heinz Field from anywhere in the city. You just have to cross a bridge or two.

  5. It's all pretty Van Halen-esque. They did one press conference when Dave was first back (mostly so he could make fun of himself) and since then, they don't get together for anything aside from making one album where the members were never in the studio together, and being on stage for 2 and a half hours then bowing and going in opposite directions exiting the stage. They don't do promotion and Dave is clearly under some kind of gag order or being quiet so as not to offend Eddie, and they're still very successful. This isn't unprecedented.

i saw roger waters reunite with david gilmour during comfortably numb in london 2011 which was their first time together in who knows how long and their drummer nick also showed up for the last song of the wall which i think was their first time together since 85

I know how long! They played Live 8 in 2005, so six years, haha.

  7. Does anyone know at what date did Axl & Slash actually talked again and when they 1st seen each other in person again? Has that been revealed yet?

No. I don't even think its been confirmed, although its heavily assumed, that they've actually spoken. Definitely not in person, but even over the phone. Seems insane they haven't given all thats happened. We don't know anything behind the scenes. We don't know when they actually, if ever, got together in person, and we have no papparazzi thats pointed it out yet. As to when they started talking? We don't know that either. We've been told its essentially been a two year process, probably starting with Slash allowing Axl to release his DVD and building from there. We'll probably never know actual dates or when things happened.

It was probably around the time of that Swedish interview considering Slash's nervous reaction and lack of answer.

  8. The presence of the new band members is a real wet blanket on things. There is also the fact we still have no interviews, press releases or anything from the band that would get across to the public that this GNR tour is different than any of the other tours Axl has been doing for 10 years.

Sadly I am beginning to realize how much he diluted the brand the past 15 years.

Had he not been masquerading as GNR all this time there would be a tremendous hype level that GNR were back together and playing shows again after 20 years being dormant.

It's kind of reminiscent of when Van Halen got back together with Roth. They had a big press conference, then went out of their way to shut Roth up and do as little promotion as possible after 30 years of diluting the brand with shitty replacement singers. It still sold out across the country. If the band is playing well enough, this won't matter in the end.

  9. It's funny how many people are taking credit for a GN'R reunion... The credit I still believes belongs to Duff.

"Dice says he’d run into Slash when he was performing in Australia and told Slash that Guns had millions of fans who would love to seem them get back together."

I'm sure glad he was able to explain this to Slash. I know he'd never realize that on his own.

Maybe Slash thought he meant guns, as in weapons, and this sudden revelation about the amount of 2nd Amendment worshippers in America opened his eyes.
