  1. It seems the people who hated CD most are the most interested in how much it sold. Why are they more obsessed with this album than someone who actually enjoyed the album?

Even if it sold 2 miilion it would be a succes, but it sold more than 5.3 million last time I had a chance to confirm, around Xmas 2009. Paychecks don't lie.

Cool, so Chinese really sold almost 6 million worldwide by now. Not a flop commercially by any means.

Oh, BBA, Nintari and a few others are only here to bash the band. We all know that and I really don't know why they aren't permanently banned yet...

  2. Nightrain 2009-10 (Tokyo or Osaka I think) Axl sung an entire octave higher for the first couple of verses!!! Insane!

Nightrain in Tokyo (2009) - The whole thing sounded phenomenal. Axl's vocal was the best I've heard on the song and Ron nailed so fuckin' much his outro solo.

Scraped (2009, 2010) - The new intro made the song stronger. Axl's vocal is so strong on this one... oh, and the solos are reeeeeeally good.

There Was a Time in Tokyo (2009) - Axl's screams are the most impressive I've ever heard from him. Bumblefoot's outro sounded fuckin' fantastic and his backing vocals were incredible as well.

Prostitute (2009) - Loved it - wish they'd play it more often...

Catcher in the Rye (2010) - Axl's vocals sound really good with the raspy voice and the outro is even better than the studio version - Axl, Frank and Ron nail it everytime they perform the song.

Don't Cry in St. Petersburg (2010) - The "new" version of the song is great! Axl's vocals and Ron's playing throughout are amazing, awesome!!

This I Love (2010) - Ashba finally nailed the solo in 2010 and Axl's got it.

Rocket Queen in Tokyo (2009) - The extended intro was awesome! Ron doing those slides on the fretless made the song even better. The outro is amazing as always.

November Rain in Rio (2001) - Axl sang the song with so much emotion... loved the way he sang it at Rock in Rio. Robin's and Buckethead's solos were the best back then...

Nightrain in Germany (2006) - Axl's vocals and Bumblefoot solos are the highlight for me. The band was on fire

Welcome to the Jungle in Germany (2006) - Another good performance. Axl's intro scream was probably the best ever.

Rocket Queen in Osaka (2007) - They nailed the whole thing and the outro solos by Robin and Ron were amazing!

Nightrain (2002) - Even though Buckethead's solo is pretty generic, it sounded damn good and fresh - brought the song to a new level...

Welcome to the Jungle in Rio (2001) - Axl's intro scream made the crowd of 200.000 people jump like crazy

Riad n' The Bedouins in Las Vegas (2001) - The best recording of the song is also the best live performance. Brain's drumming was fuckin' great...

Don't Cry in Chiba (2007) - Axl has put so much emotion on that performance...

    HA, I could go on...

  3. We have no proof that the guy playing the solo was actually Ashba. There was a guy playing it and it didn't sound like Ashba at all. Could be one of the musicians trying to get the job. And yes, they split the solo just like they did to the YCBM solo, Nightrain solo, etc.

  4. Paco de Lucia is great, but I wouldn't say that he's better than Ron and Buckethead. Look, he's a great acoustic guy, but do you think that he'd do fine on the fretless, or doing legato or thimble tapping licks at the highest speeds? Guthrie Govan is at least as good technically as Ron, they are friends and he's so fucking diverse as well. Ron even pointed him as the best guitarist of the world - look, Ron Thal knows a huge amount of guitar players, he's got perfect pitch and a photographic memory for music so he knows what he's talking about. They're both extremely great fretless guitar players, can play anything and reach (at least near) the highest speeds while being extremely clean. They're on the same league that Shawn Lane is, not Buckethead's or Steve Vai's league. Govan and Thal are probably the best (eletric?) guitarists alive. It's not only my oppinion, I've seen people that do know every of your favorite guitar players and don't use Dave's ridiculous arguments to prove their point. They actually have reasons to say and think that Ron and Govan are the best and most interesting living guitarists. But yea, some of you would call his playing "guitar-wanky".

Ron's discography speaks for itself. He's widely known as the "new Zappa" for a reason. You may not like his notes choices, but he's extremely competent at what he does. And he does everything - from complex and different rhythm riffs to inventive licks and technical yet melodic solos. His vocal range is so big that the guy can sing Rob Halford and Sebastian Bach songs without a problem. He can sing opera for fuck's sake!

I'm not talking about the subjective part of his guitar playing and songwriting. I'm talking about the objective side of the things, I'm showing facts.

  5. One of the greatest topics of all time thanks to dave being a retard.

Let me just stop this foolish arguing by posting a few vids of Bumble.....Im a huge fan of his and have been before he was in GnR so.....

    Lots of soul here too

And some funk for good measure

By the way, not taking anything away from Buckethead, he is about even with me with Bumble, but some of Buckets albums are Hit/miss while all bumbles albums are all hit. But then again Bumble only has 9 albums while Bucket has millions.

He'll ignore all of this. He ignored everything I said about Bumble's playing on Chi Dem - he's of course ignoring Catcher outro for that matter, yet he says that Scraped solo is a shred solo.

Just to add a few aud/vids...

    ftp://ftp.bunglefever.com/pub/Bumblefoot/RonThal-rawsolo-Bumblefoot-Uncool-IHateMe.mp3

The solo of the song Breaking has something that Dave would never, ever understand. While the lead guitar solo goes to its craziest part, the rhythm guitar does the melodic part of the song. Genius.

  6. :rofl-lol:

    But... I still don't know why Dave's here. He's a laughing stock.

I wish someone like Fernando, or even Axl, would come here and stop all this "Buckethead will replace Ron as soon as he wants to join the band" or "no one wanted to join GnR" bullshit.

  7. As much as I hate to admit it - Ron's solo on "Scraped" is pretty sick.

That is because Ron can shread great, he cannot play melodically. Most of his shredding on CD is fine, its when he tries to play blueys stuff he faulters.

And yet again you have been proved wrong by the posts to the youtube videos a couple of pages back where Ron was playing very melodically.

He wants to ignore this. His brain ain't very smart. Not his fault. He didn't even know how to spell Buckethead's name corretly.. The guy even consider Ron's Scraped solo a shred

I'm sure he says that Ron shreds a lot on the Catcher in the Rye outro as well. His melodic rhythm in Chi Dem is ridiculous. His bluesy licks in the 2nd chorus of Better and last chorus of SR are horrible as well. His rhythm and solos played on Sorry are tasteless. The rhythm throughout If The World and SOD... his rhythm work in Maddy (especially during Bucket's solo), his rhythm in Prostitute, ah, he guy can't play melodic stuff. He's a shredder and that is.

  8. When I think of prodigy, I think of someone exceptionally talented and the talent almost comes easily to him/her. In that way, I think of Ron as a prodigy in how he appears to almost easily change the type of music he plays, quickly adapting without what appears to be a lot of preparation or thought.

Got it from Slipdisc's post @ NewGnR forum

He has perfect pitch and a photographic memory for music, so playing back a song (any song) and trying to include the other parts (bass, other guitars, keys) at the same time is second nature to him. He's the only player I've ever seen (other than Guthrie perhaps) who has the ability to play anything, of any genre, and make it seem like he's been doing it for years. His abilities transcend technique. He could listen to the most insanely difficult piece and play it back. It's unreal.

I was in a music store one time with Ron and a guitarist was testing out an amp. He was a fairly advanced jazz player and was playing some very cool walking jazz chord stuff, with a bit of improvisation thrown in. Ron wasn't plugged in, but was playing a guitar and played EVERYTHING note for note which that guy played. Chords, improvised melody lines - everything. It sounded like a one second delay was turned on. Ron wasn't playing loud enough for the guy to hear him and he wasn't making fun of his playing. He was simply repeating everything because he thought what the guy was playing was cool. When somebody has that quick and perfect of a musical ear AND there is no technique that holds him back, the door is wide open to any possibility.

  11. keep in mind, axl himself never addresses the t-shirt rumors in his post............

    not once.

    Really?

"...as I've never asked for anyone's shirt bein' thrown out of anywhere..."

I think that claim of his has been thoroughly rebuked.

For fucksake, you're taking things out of context... He's clearly refering to Canada.

When was the Rio incident relevant? Almost ten years ago.

Thank you! I was like 'why all these people are talking about the Rio gig when Axl clearly was refering to Canada?'. Now I know I was right and they're the stupid people. Not me.

    Thank you once again.

This is what I call a fucking loser seeking for attention at literally any cost. How old are you, resentful web warrior?

I cant be with Madison. She should have treated her love/hate pathology about Axl in a psychiatrist, instead of spreading the massive pile of garbage she did among the fans, and what is worst, the press.

Keep trolling Freddie Mercury Ghost. cupcake hard. And maybe Dexter pops up and say you ''hi'' and your day would be made. That's all your want: attention.

    This.

  13. eye2eye, Bruno Poeyes...Bashing who bashes you... ok seems fair

He has his own reasons and who are you to point your finger at him and tell him that he can't do that? Gimme a break. Give him a break.

    Kit Kat?

What's a Kit Kat? This is the best pic I could find on the web...

Peace man! I understand your point

It's ok, but he has his own reasons to attack some users and we shouldn't bash them for that. It's all good, but some users think they know how Axl and some band members should act. This is annoying...

    Who are you talking about?

I'm talking about you and whoever wants to attack some forum members because they're being a prick, because they are attacking Axl, you or Bumble for no reason, etc.

I didn't use names in my posts, so let me explain. Manets said that you have no right to bash forum members. I said that you have your own reasons to do that, and he (Manets or any forum member for that matter) has no right to point his finger at you saying "Fernando, you can't do that because..."

  16. Madison post pics

+1 Totally appropriate right now lmao

    :rofl-lol: :rofl-lol: :rofl-lol:

    This is goddamn funny.

But anyway, there are rumors that GnR's gonna play on this week's NY Fashion week (or something like that). Hope it's true. :)

  17. That's unbelievable. I agree there's a lot of assholes here, but we don't deserve this shit. For fuck sake, Fernando didn't come her like a year or so, who the hell is he to talk shit like that ?? Fuck you.

Who the fuck are you to say that to Fernando ?!

I agree theres a lot of assholes here and you spoke like one of them.

No, I agree with marlon. Fernando just suddenly came here talking shit about the members? Camon, who the fuck he think he is? Here, he just a member, like us.

He thinks he's a member, and just like me, he knows that there are plenty of assholes around. Plenty of know-it-all and morons around. You have NO RIGHT to spread rumors like you do, but you still do it. That's it..He's a forum member, Axl is a forum member and they bash who the hell they want to bash. You have no right to point fingers and tell them to not attack someone because he or she is being a prick. Calm down. :)

  18. The intro scream was awesome, but it is obvious the in ear monitor wasn't working properly... and if you can't hear yourself, it is anyone's guess how it'll sound. It is painful to listen to. :(

Ron doesn't hear himself and still sounds amazing. That's not an excuse imo.

    It's different when you're singing.

But he does *not* hear himself while singing too - those guys have too much control over their voice. I'm pretty sure they know how they're sounding even if they don't have an in-ear monitor... Axl even sang the 2nd part of Better without his in-ear monitor on the Edmonton show. :)

He just wanted to sing that way probably in 01-02. And the VMA's was only a bad vocal performance....
