  1. so it's hasn't been 14 years, it's been 21 years that are gone forever...

first time with Izzy since 08.31.91 - Wembley Stadium, London, England

Apart from the dozen or so shows Izzy played wuth them in 2006? :P

  2. Is it just me or am I reading it wrong. From what I read it looks like this band have been dropped from the lineup for the remainder of the uk tour and they are simply making a joke that it's to facilitate Axl going on stage earlier. It's not coming from GNR and they were probably dropped for some other reason, right?

That's a legitimate interpretation based of the "lol" at the end. There could be other reasons, but this band is making a joke based off that. I think people are jumping in assuming that this was serious and the actual reason why this second opening act is being dropped from the tour.

    Ali

I think so. In Dublin they started out with Lizzy only and then added another opener later.

No, the other band (The Balck Spiders) never ended up playing. The two gigs I was at (Nottingham - which was right after Dublin, and Birmingham) only had Lizzy then GN'R.

  3. Just got back to my hotel room (very glad to see the bar was still open when I got back). What can I say - another great show, even better than Nottingham last week - we got Whole Lotta Rosie (which wheren't pkayed in Notts) plus they came on stage earlier - around 10:15. Great set and performances, no sound issues that I could tell, Axl could be heard clearly throughout, even when he talked to the crowd. The crowd were great (minus one arsehole who started a fight with a girl...during SCOM, of all songs). Though I don't think I've seen so many people ask to be taken over the barrier to get to the back due to exhaustion as I did tonight! Great crowd though, very lively and I got pretty damn close to the front. Managed to pick up Richard's guitar pick at the end too. First time to the LG arena (and Birmingham)n and although it's a pain due to being out of the city centre, it was a really good venue, will try and make more gigs here again in the future.

As for the setlist moaners: it was still great. I went into these 2 gigs pretty much expecting the same set each time (was glad to get Rosie and Patience tonight though), but I still had a great time on both nights! Just a shame I couldn't afford to go to the Manchester gig too!

  4. Just got back home....what a fucking amazing show, my ears, throat and body are all aching and will punish me at work tomorrow, but it was worth it without a question.

Huge setlist, almost every sone I could have wanted (Minus a few from Chinese Democracy - myself and a few others did shout out for TWAT at various points).

Band was tight, Axl was on great form (Minus the song Chinese Democracy, where his sound buggered up half-way through and he missed the second verse), and the crowd responded fantastically. Safe to say I was thrown around a lot, but it was great fun.

    Roll on Birmingham next week!

    How was Axl's voice?

He was a bit muddied in the mix at first, but by Estranged or so, it was improving a lot. Come the end, it was great. I was very close to the front so was blasted with amplifiers from all sides, but Axl was great, except for the bit in CD I mentioned.

  6. I remember when they came through Boston in "93" Axl said something on stage about them releasing a CD of covers after the tour,

because he made a promise to Duff that they would.

But not to expect much. he sounded like he was jumping on Duff when he said it.

Shortly thereafter sure enough this thrown together mix hit the shelves.

The Manson song is pretty good though.

He also mentions it on the Tokyo 1992 DVD, just before 'Attitude'.

  7. Went to the Capital FM Arena today on my trip into town in Nottingham and asked when I could expect tickets to be delivered. They said they'd just got the go-ahead to print the and she printed mine then and there :D

Cool! Im going nottingham too so, we can expect them soon? :D

Yep, within the next few days or so, she said.

(Fortunately her manager then came over and said she could print them for me just then)

    See you there! :D

haha! I want mine now! ;D. Sounds good to me, hopefully they'll be here soon!

Gonna be epic, leeds 2010 was. Cya there, along with many other GnR crazy bastards :D

Hopefully longer...and not quite as controversial as Leeds was, as good as the show was ;) (Same for Reading - I was at both...quite a pair of first GN'R gigs!)
