My son is living with a english teacher. He keeps handing me books to read that he thinks are right up my alley. The guy who wrote Fear and Loathing (Hunter Thompson) wrote another book about 'Hells Angels'. He wrote others but I haven't read them yet. Another one he gave me was called 'Naked'. I don't remember the author but it proved good reading on the train.
Good post.
This might sound obvious to all those who love that era, but Tom Wolfe's "Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test" is probably the best book written about crazy drug frenzied adventures.

I heard the other day (on the tv) that the movie is dedicated to Axl
-
I've heard a couple of songs by Pride & Glory, and if you're into Southern Rock, your in for a treat. "Machine Gun Man" is spectacular. From what I've heard from BLS, they dont sound a bit alike.
-
Thanks a lot Axl for taking the time, I know you don't owe us shit but sometimes we felt a little abbandoned. You kickass motherlover!!

I really like Human, havn't listened to the rest of the songs. But you know, its a nice fresh record atleast, it doesn't sound dated and I like Flower's style. Well atleast it didn't take 15 years in the making, hope to see something more rock-oriented in their next record.

Stones great songs = 14 or 15
Oasis great songs = All the first 3 albums and b-sides + 70% of the last 4 albums.. = +100
Merry Christmas and Thank You very much!
wtf!!! xD

Hahahaha....well, who knows, I can't say cuz I'm a great GnR Fan, even if they made an album cover of someone shitting on some poor african person I'd find it great so...
-
I prefer Page over Clapton too. Better riffs imo. Clapton does have some kickass stuff but lets face it, the song remains the same is out of this world. So is the Rain Song...

I heard he was leaving music to become a priest in hawaii

C'mon! Only two words...Soul Sacrifice. (I'm talking about the 60's Santana btw, not that music he's donde with some jackasses nowadays)
-
Totally agree, it's a really nice album to listen to, specially when there are bands like "Panic at the Disco" going around...

Everybody has different tastes, regarding yours, yes ofcourse it could be the best cd released in 15 years. Talent-wise, Coldplay leave too much for the imagination, the lack creativity and self invention, as a previous poster said they could be the castrated version of U2, but i prefer to call them the boyband version of Radiohead. I respect your musical tastes and sorry if I insulted them, the thing is I dont respect Coldplay that much...

A Great Gig in The Sky for Wright, R.I.P.

Sigur Rós
I have to check this Sigurd Ros out. Heard so much about him, but I've never heard him.
It's a band, not a solo-artist.
And I wouldn't bother checking them out, they're lame.
Just becuase they don't bang the hell outa their instruments and don't paint their hair green it doesn't meen they're lame. They're actually quite interesting and nice to put on a sunny afternoon and listen to in the shade to relax, but some people just can't appreciate music if it doesn't try to rip their ears open.

I likem a lot, "Trani" is a hell of a song and so is "Talihina Sky". Kalebs voice is pretty interesting and he sings as he really wants to sing, and thats something i respect. But as far as "Jet" being a good band, i'de have to say "what the hell are you thinking?", they're the filthiest and most grotesc tune-stealers of all time, "Look at what you've done" is a "Imagine" copy down to every single chord and im not gonna even start on "Are you gonna be my girl"...I find them plain disgusting

Cant stop listening to Read my Mind.
That song is so good, it's unbelievable. I find myself with it on repeat very often.
I totally agree, the lyrics on the song are great, and its a really catchy tune, love that song...About sawdust, heard a couple of the songs on it, good but i expected something more...Love Romeo and Juliet cover, and Shadowplay is pretty nice, but I just expected something more

The Doors - Stairway to Heaven
Deep Purple - Help
2 fucking amazing covers, if you've never heard them slap yourself right now and download them ASAP
-
Suprised no one has said Gilmour/Waters or even Barret...Anyways there is no way to choose, just waaaay too many...
-
Its impressive how none of you give your opinions, but just act like its not just an opinion but its the absolute truth. I think lyricist is the same thing as poet. And I don't agree on Plant being there, i think "All of my Love", "Thats the way" or "the Rain song" are pretty much masterpieces...jmho...

They're really amazing. The Needle and The Spoon is just a pure rock song, love the solo, something slashy in it...Free Bird is pretty fucking amazing, Simple Man has some of the best advice I've ever heard, I know a Little has an incredible little bluesy rythm that goes terribly well along the guitar and piano soloes, etc...
Skynyrd Rock Big Time.
-
I go Eagles, for Don Henley, and for the fact they are a band with 5 members, not the 123 or so Skynard has!
What does that have to do with anything? Having more band members doesn't make it anymore easier, actually playing live must be 10 times harder...By what i just said you have already guessed that my vote was Skynyrd...The Needle and The Spoon is just a fuckin great song
-
well everybody has different muscial tastes...but i guess everybody should atleast have a basic apreciation for good ol improvisational rock...lov'em live!!
-
love that song, never seen or heard about happy gillmore...latley im gettin really into lynyrd, they really kicked some serious ass, great fuckin songs...pitty what happened to them...sad...just sad...

I love Eat a Peach, specifically cuz its got "Blue Skies" which is a beautiful song with a kickass solo, but Fillmore east is also great, every allman brothers record is great, just pick anyone up and enjoy.
