    Ibanez IC 300

Set up just like Jimmy Page's N#1

    tele59.jpg

Telecaster set up just like a 59'

And the one i just purchased thanks to your opinions(specially to johnezz's)...i give you...the one and only...ESP Xtone PC-1V

    32376.jpg

Fell in love with it the second i saw it, and declared myself the second i heard it, amazing guitar...havn't stopped playing it all day long

  2. It looks like a cool guitar man, don't let anybody tell you if its shit or not, thats yours to decide, good luck with the job, i recently quit mine cus i got the money i wanted to buy a new guitar, so work hard and if your not happy with your guitar, then buy a new one, but i don't see why the one you have won't last you like a year or so.

  3. When the father of Aging Tom Murphy was asked if it was pure comsmetics or if it did enhance the playability he answered:

"The patina is softer and I do expose the finish to some processes that possibly help the lacquer to cure faster. But I can't say that the aging process physically adds to functionality of the guitar. On the other hand I think that psychologically, people feel like the guitar performs more like a vintage instrument because it looks like a vintage instrument. These instruments are made for people who understand and appreciate a vintage instrument and the era it represents. A nice, new shiny guitar just doesn't do it for a lot of these people. Our intent is not to replace the vintage market or vintage guitars. Those instruments will always have prospective buyers. Gibson and I are simply trying to capture the spirit of the vintage guitar, and provide a product that's fun for people to own and play."

Today I met someone who told me that when you aged a guitar, process started by tom murphy but that the beatles were the first to start doing it, the guitar lost the "plastic" sound, that sometimes all the paint would make it sound more shiny, and that by taking some of it off, you could get a more "raw" sound. What do you guys think? Worth it or Not?

  4. Well Johnez, i guess in the guitar area your opinion is one of the ones i most respect, i was actually expecting it, i was also thinking about a semi hollow, i've read good reviews about them, today i'll go to this big guitar center and see if i can find any semi hollow, but my priority will be es 335's, though ive heard really good things about ibanez and esp's semi hollows, il let you know guys if i find someething. Thanks again for all your opinions .

  5. Jackamo! your poem is not bad,it aint picasso but it made me laugh (because its funny), and nitsuj, thats was really uncalled for, it takes a lot of courage to post your stuff, all the poems/songs i've wrote are deep down stored in the system32 folder of the windows thingy in my computer with numbers for name :P

  6. haha 600$ :chef:

i think you should buy 300 cups of coffee

    or

an ugly vehicle and slowly trick it out (not in a gangster way, just make it look good) but do that over the years hah, or buy something nice for a special girlllllll, or something else, lmao my ideas are retarded hahaha

Well sorry i'm not a millionaire but i couldn't get a job that paid more than 12 bucks a day so fuck you man, 600 dollars here where i live is apparently "valued" like more money than were you live, oh and you're ideas are not funny, something like a 600 dolar carrot is funny.

And F*ck Your Enemy and Crash Diet thanks for your help, but i dont want a new amp cuz the 1974X is fairley new to me so im still getting to know it and as for the 2 guitars, well i already have a Les Paul and i dont know much about Dixie Rebel but i'm looking for something more "quiet". Thanks anyways for the ideas.

  7. Hey guys,

I'm currently in posession of 600 Dollars, so i was thinking about buying a new guitar and wanted your advice, I was thinking about maybe saving upto 1000 to buy a Gibson SG, but I've worked really hard all my vacations to get my money and I feel desperate to spend it :P or to atleast see the results of my work, so thats why i want to ask you, should i spend it in on another guitar? or should i save upto 1000 to get me a Gibson SG? Is it worth it? So far i have 4 guitars, the rest I've sold

Fender Strat, really old and dont have any info but it plays like hell, my dad had it for a long time in the garage but doesn't play the guitar anymore so i've kinda "inherited", if you have any info on posting images i'll post some, but again,Ii Never use it, i keep it in this glass kind of case, and don't let anybody touch it, i mean like no one, except me sometimes after i've washed my hands repeatedly :P

Ibanez IC 300, great guitar, actually its the one i mostly play with, very versatile, and has its one unique tone to it, though i did buy new tuners and had Seymour Duncans put into the bridge and neck, it's not so comfortable to play but its the guitar that i feel most "In touch" with

Custom made Lp and Custom made Tele, Lp set up like JP's Number One, push/pull with burstbuckers, plays very very nice and has an amazing sustain due to the hard maple neck, and my Custom made Tele has the specs of a 59' and the body is made outa ash, also plays the hell outa the LP, both are amazing guitars and farely new, the luthier even measured my hand so they fit me like a glove, but again, I'm still not in direct contact with them like i am with my Ibanez

I have two Amps with which i am totally satisfied, one is the Marshall MG100DFX, many people say that the MG series are shit, but suprisingly i can get anything i want out of it with my IC 300, and a Handwired 1974X, which my dad obtained through a guy that owned him serious money, so don't recommend me any amps cus im very happy with what i have

So what do you think? what should i go for now?

Btw, i've worked hard for all the guitars i've had, since i'm 13 ive worked hard every summer to buy a new guitar, and now that im 16, i feel very satisfied with what i have, i'm not a spoiled brat that thinks he can't live without a 4000 dollar guitar just cuz his idol uses one that looks like it...jic

  8. Thanks for the tips Johnezz, the thing is i wanna paint it like Clapton's Fool, I am pretty good at art but i don't know what materials i can use to get the job done, I have several ideas about what i wanna do, maybe i'll just draw the silhouette of "The battle of Los Angeles" (RATM) cuz it goes with the design of my guitar, or maybe i was thinking about writing important speeches like MLK's "I have a Dream" and Malcom's "Ballot or the Bullet", and many more, but you see, these designs have a lot of detail so i don't really know what to use, any ideas anyone?

  9. So I'm thinkin about painting my Ibanez IC300, but i don't know how, have you guys ever tried it? painting your guitar or customizing it? Guys like Hendrix and Page painted their guitars and they got awesome results, i mean, look at that 59' Dragon Telly that Page has, its fuckin beautiful. What about Claptons "Fool" SG? It looks pretty cool, so I was hoping you guys knew somtn about painting guitars, if you do, please post your tips/materials/whatever valuable info you might have, Thanks.

  10. Gibson Launches the "Inspired By" (Series) Jimi Hendrix Hand-Painted 1967 Flying V

    jhflyv.jpg

I Guess the most accurate way to describe it would be by describing Zeus holding his Thunder...Magnificient...

    Histroy of the Guitar

    Jimi Hendrix’s hand-painted 1967 Flying V is a mythical instrument. Purchased in 1967

and used on tour in Europe during 1967 and 1968, the guitar-with its swirling

psychedelic designs-highlights the spirit of the times and showcases Jimi's unique

artistic expression. The entire instrument emanates a feeling of warmth and love.

Meticulously recreating Jimi’s guitar has been a labor of love for us as well. Originally

painted with what appears to be nail polish, we have used materials which reproduce

the same sense of depth and texture. But this is a Gibson Custom guitar, so the

materials and hardware are faithful reproductions of the original. The result is an

instrument with unsurpassed playability and classic tone. The Jimi Hendrix Psychedelic

Flying V is an original work of art that you can beautifully display or proudly play.

    Come feel the love.

    A Letter From The Artist

In brainstorming sessions with the folks at the Custom Shop, we tried to imagine the

conditions under which Hendrix created this artwork. He was probably on the road,

using whatever was at hand for paint. It could have been poster paint, nail polish,

acrylics, or hobby enamels. We will never know.

It was done quickly and with confidence - a direct, immediate expression of what he

was feeling at the moment. I remember thinking that if someone handed me a guitar

to paint I would never have come up with the images that Jimi painted. They were

totally personal and came directly from his spirit: hearts, flowers, leaves, kissing lips,

    and of course, “love drops.”

There’s no question that you can feel Jimi’s personal expression in the work. When he

played this guitar, it must have dropped jaws twice - sonically and visually!

  12. New things that Axl's band has? well if you ask me (which i now you didn't but i dont give a fuck) i'd go with GnR's Classic Rock over New Trans-Techno (Silkworms) with Thrash Metal Guitars (Oh My God, even though it is a cool riff its not my weapon of choice) and Light Speed Soloes you can barely appreciate because they just sound like a pig getting slaughtered any day.

This DOESN't mean that i think everything Axl has made is shit, i kinda like the blues and madagascar, but i think its impossible for him to make by his own, something bigger and more musically inspiring and talented than what he did with classic gnr, lets face it guys, some here wont even put Hendrix or Page against Slash and your facing Axl vs Slash, Izzy and Duff, so i think saying 1/5th of the band making something bigger than the WHOLE band is just plain imbecile.

I like VR, and i don't know if Axl can make something I find more musically inspiring and talented than what they have done, up till now, i havn't heard anythin better than say... Headspace coming from Axl, i have faith, and i sure do hope he can do something better cuz it'b be cool to see like a musical race bewteen the two bands, but lets face it, up till now, its just been a couple of songs and a very poorly produced tour.

So if there was a GnR reunion, I'd welcome it with wide open arms, cuz, i guess, thats why 99% of the people are here, because of Classic GnR, Not NuGnR, i sure do have faith on them, but the first reason why im here, is because of songs Like November Rain, Don't Damn Me and Civil War, NOT because of Oh My God, Chinese Democracy (Song) or Silkworms. In my opinion, you should get torched, cuz your really talking outa your ass.

Just a piece of my mind

  13. Depends on what im lookin for

A nice rocking guitar, i try out some page riffs, like rock n roll and communication breakdown, two completeley oposed tones, one fat and rough, the other one sratchy and thin. I usually go for those two to try out the tone range, then i go for intermediate, somtn like townsend, pinball wizard iworks really well to see if the guitar is working the right tones in the clean channel, oh and then i try out in the clean channel as thin and scratchy as i can get it to sound, ACDC's TNT...

If im out lookin for some bluesy tone guitar, well then i try out hendrix's little wing and sweet sixteen (bb king), then i turn on some OD and give a shot at Pride and Joy, we all know whose that from.

If im lookin for metal..well...ive never gone out searchin for some indescretley screamy guitar so i dont know

  14. Actually the Zeppelin performance at Live Aid wasnt as good as it was expected, rock n roll out of tempo and the slaughtering of the whole lotta love solo and actually the whole song.

Bono, never seen him live, theyre coming to my city next month but the tickets ran out in a day, and they were 70,000, can't believe it...I was really looking foward to it cuz i really liked How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb

As to the Topic, well i've got a few

    Simple Plan guy

    Sum 41

Coldplay asshole (he once said that he would like ppl to see them as the tipical boy band...how can anybody put up with that shit?)

Every hip hop artist especially 50 cent and Eminem (actually every hip hop artist minus Outkast, i kinda likem, they always seem to be a step ahead than the rest)
