Not only do I agree with the other poster that he butchered My Michelle, I sort of wish he wasn't a part of this tour at all. I love that he's Axl's biggest supporter and all and I enjoyed hearing Back in the Saddle and the old Skid Row hits again. I just wish Axl would find another opener that's inconsistent with the hairband image that casual fans generally try to peg Guns N' Roses to. This has been said before.
Having said that though, Axl could pack arenas and even a few stadiums in America if he would just do one thing... tour with Kid Rock this Fall. They're friends... he thanks him in the liner notes on CD. Kid Rock has a sizeable fan base and puts on one of the best live shows you'll see. He doesn't charge a lot for tickets to his shows either and that could help keep ticket prices down.
This would be the tour of the year. Sebastian Bach would still show up only this time to stand on the side of the stage with his glass of red wine enjoying the show.

Guns N' Roses will automatically become eligible for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame if the institution changes its induction policy for 2011.
According to a report by Showbiz411, Jann Wenner, the founder and publisher of Rolling Stone and chairman of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, is considering having the Rock Hall's charter changed so that nominees for the Hall could become eligible 20 years after their recorded debut instead of the current 25 years.
Showbiz411 claims that Wenner is looking to bring bigger and fresher names into the Hall since the list of potential "new" inductees has grown smaller.
According to the post, under the current guidelines, apart from Sting becoming eligible as a solo act, the other top "new" acts eligible include 'Til Tuesday, Chris Isaak, Suzanne Vega, and Simply Red.
Don't see anything wrong with Guns N' Roses being inducted early except that I would feel bad if Simply Red doesn't get in... Holding Back the Years is an awesome song. It doesnt necessarily rock but is still great.

Managed to get my GA Standing tickets today. Never been to Calgary before so looking forward to that, anybody point me in the direction of a good pub? Think it will be cold! But hey, might as well be cold in Canada watching GN'R than cold in the UK! Hope to see you all there.
Where's the pre-party? I'm flying in for both Edmonton and Calgary.

Ticketmaster now cites other internet presale times beginning at 10am in various time zones on Thursday, depending on which part of Canada the arena is in. This could include the gunsnroses.com fan club membership that we all signed up for years ago. Maybe we should all make sure that the official site has our contact info too.

GnR/ Kid Rock - Could they tour together?

I suggested this tour the other day in another thread. Kid Rock might not have been great with an impromptu performance with Axl- I was at that show but have never watched the replay on youtube. One thing is for sure, he's an awesome performer and his band sounds good live. If you haven't heard the entire Rock N' Roll Jesus album, you're missing out on what is, for the most part, a good straight-forward rock album with classic rock influence.
If Axl wants to play before Brazil-sized crowds in America, he's going to have to do something like this or outside of a couple midwestern cities, New York and Los Angeles, he wont fill a hockey/nba arena. I also believe that Kid Rock would open for Guns N' Roses. Kid Rock is respectful of legendary artists and doesnt try to upstage them. Here in Atlanta a few years ago, he stood-in for James Hetfield when he hurt himself and couldnt perform.
You've got a point about redneck fans. I saw a woman at my last Kid Rock show wearing ass-less jeans (she was huge too), but at least he has a slightly different fan base. If he had the same fans that would be at GNR anyway, then it wouldn't do him any good to have Kid Rock with him.
Finally, i made the point the other day that Kid Rock doesn't charge a lot for his tickets, so the prices wouldn't be as expensive as they would be with other big name artists.
